11 10 - My Name Is Amon

Alexander was bluffing as hell, he did not, in fact, know what the fuck a rock would ever want or desire.

But it's like it would be anything too overcomplicated, right? So he went ahead with the special-tier bullshit and talked his way into getting himself a golem Vessel.

And now, he could finally strech and rest easy as the spiritual weight on his soul vanished faster than a mister when sees a attractive sister.

Alexander wrapped his yarn-like tendrils around the Talus's Low-quality Soul. The thing smelled funny to the Angel's senses, like burnt toast smeared in mud.

He had made the bargain, and now he was inside the Talus.

Everything that was alive had a soul, it was inside their bodies, but as everyone knew, you couldn't just get to the soul by ripping open the body, right?

How does that work, are souls truly found inside the body?

They are, however, souls are not contained within the physical body.

Instead, they are contained within the being's spirit, which is to say, a seperate invisible space inside the physical body that normally collapses upon death, releasing the soul inside.

Alexander's body and spirit were one and the same, this was the uniqeness of the Spiritual Bodies all Angels had, as his soul could be found right behind his heart, rather than in a seperate space.

Though there came a seperate boon when one had a Spiritual Body, and that was the distinct ability to enter another being's spirit space with all of your body.

Normally, Magicians that did this kind of magic could only project their own spirit into another being's spirit space, leaving their physical body vulnerable.

But for an Angel? Its just like going into another room, every part of them is there, no need for any special methods.

Although one's spirit space usually collapses upon the destruction of the physical body, this is not always the case.

There are such beings that can exist without physical bodies, they are called Wild Spirits...

Wild Spirits are further divided into two types, Nature Spirits, and Vengeful Spirits.

The Talus was a Nature Spirit, which instead of a mortal spirit that had clung to life by sheer will like the Vengeful Spirit, was a naturally occuring type of Wild Spirit birthed by the ambient energy of the world.

Hence the name, Nature Spirit.

Nature Spirits were beings that were not born with physical bodies in the first place.

They are like Angels in this sense, although the bodies of Angels are actually the fusion between the spiritual and physical, different from the Nature Spirits, which only had their...spirit.

In the rare case that a Nature Spirit wanted to interact with the physical realm, they can pull together the very materials that make up the world and create for themselves a body to puppet.

These kinds of Nature Spirits are known as Elementals, which is exactly what the Talus was.

Now that obviously meant that the Talus had some kind of strong desire, if it didn't, then it wouldn't have chosen to become an Elemental in the first place.

And this desire was what allowed Alexander to take advantage of the situation and convince the Talus to be his Vessel.

But the problem is...Alexander had no idea what this desire was!

So he decided to just ask.

"Hey, rock. What should we do now?" It was vague enough that the secret regarding his ignorance should hopefully remain hidden.

Alexander stirred slightly as he made himself comfortable inside the Talus's spirit space, waiting for the Elemental's response.

Now that they were linkes spirit and mind, communication should be much easier.

"Talus wants to sleep..."

Well, to be fair, that was it had been doing before he woke it up.

The Talus's voice was unexpectedly...childish? Not an actual child's voice like Alexander's very own, but like a grown man speaking with the cadence of one.

Think Spongebob or Abridged Goku...

"Sleep where?" Maybe this Elemental had the strong desire to sleep on top of Castle Hyrule or something—

"On the ground." Again, still quite fair.

"But like, why do you want to sleep?" Alexander asked, he couldn't really get anything done if the Talus just slept all the time.

"Because Talus wants to sleep." Huh.

It's not as if he had any valid arguments against that kind of reasoning...

"Alright, then Talus. Could you get closer to that Guardian's corpse? I want to take a look." Alexander requested as he acted as a sponge to draw in the surrounding Mana to help in the Talus's earthly regeneration.

The Talus simply did what was requested as walked closer to the shattered Guardian.

Unlike in the games, the Guardian hadn't just exploded into various rare drops. Instead, its corpse was still here, in tact...

Well, the parts that weren't crushed by Alexander's earthly Vessel was still in tact, but that's beside the point.

The Angel unfurled his wings as he let go of the Talus's soul, he then flew out of the spirit space and seemingly phased out of the Talus's head, appearing back in the physical world.

Yes, although it was more natural and safe for Alexander to remain inside the spirit space, he wasn't really confined to it in any way.

The Angel began to inspect the Guardian's remains, his tendrils going in to look for loot as the Talus looked on.

The Stone golem looked rather unintested and simply chose to sit on its ass.

This continued for a minute longer before the Angel approached the larger Talus with several curious items in hand, or, well...tendril.

"Could you carry these?" A strange yet benign request wad made by the Angel.

The Talus didn't respond, although Alexander understood.

Yes, but how exactly? Was what that silent stare conveyed.

'God, I'm actually starting to decrypt the hidden meaning behind a rock's facial expressions.' Alexander lampooned his slowly dying sanity.

Maybe he should get to resting soon, cause it seemed like he was going off the deep end...

Anyway, he had practically used up all of the Talus's storage space with that Soldier's Bow or whatever.

That bow was easy to carry around, he just placed it around the Talus's black core ourcrop thing, but the same couldn't for the loot that he now carried.

A pair of Ancient Screws, an Ancient Gear, the Guardian's somewhat damaged eye ball, and something that was hopefully the Guardian's Ancient Core.

He couldn't really tell if it was a giant variant or just the normal Ancient Core, he had no frame of reference at this point, after all.

He did remember the two looking rather different aside from the size, but Alexander couldn't remember which was the giant variant or the regular.

"Well...can't you just...make a hand or something?" He proposed, making the Talus confused.

"A hand can actually hold things, unlike your rocky stubs. No offense." The Angel said as he drew a human hand on the dirt using one of the Anicent Screws.

"You can sort of control the stone that you assimiliate, right? So why don't you just make yourself a hand?" The Angel asked, illiciting a silent response from the Talus.

After a few seconds, the Talus decided to try it out as the boulders forming its arm collapsed onto the ground, only to be lifted back up to try forming a hand.

Alexander helped a bit as he used what litle control hed over the earth to assist in the fine details, a minor ability inherited from being the Talus's Guardian Angel.

Rocks crashed together in the air in an attempt to make them more refined as the Talus pullee more out fo the earth.

The whole process took a bit of time, 5 or so minutes, but it eventually worked as now, the Talus found itself with a significantly more useful limb.

It stared at it with wonder in its pebbles, as if a child seeing their favorite animal in real life for the first time, the amusing image making the Angel chuckle with grim laughter as he realized he truly was going bazonkers.

"Right, now can you carry the loot, uh...Talus?" Alexander requested again with a smile, though it looked more like a feral grin due to how his mouth is shaped.

The Talus silently held out its now fingered hands, feeling their movements as the Angel droppes all the of the loot in the Talus's open hand.

It was far from being an actual humanoid hand, with just 3 fingers and a blocky appearance, but it was still significantly better that whatever the fuck kind of limb the Talus had previously.

"Thank you." It said, surprising the Angel.

"You're welcome...Talus." Alexander paused as he considered that name.

"I can't really call you that, right? It's like naming a human Homo Sapien or something..." He said, illiciting no response from the big guy.

"Since you're very big and very rocky...what about Sylvester Stallone?" The Angel said in a joking manner.

"My...name? Sylone?" The Talus responded with a confused tone.

"Sylone? Yeah, that sounds quite good, actually!" Alexander praised as he flew back inside the Talus's spirit space.

"But...what is...your name?" It asked in wonder, only now discovering the concept of names.

"My name is—" He was about to say Alexander but stopped himself.

"My name is Amon, remember it well."

It was better to use his supposed true angelic name rather than his past name.

Although he could try to convince people Alexander was part if his true name, it was better not to risk it.

Besides, it was best to use one's true name is such mystical matters.

And what could possibly be more mystical than literal spirits and shit?

Cocaine, probably.
