Dark alleys

The night was still young, at least it was said to be so because 9:30pm couldn't be considered as late in Brookeville town.

The townfolks were still up in their houses doing one thing or the other as usual. Although the streets were not as lively as they were during the day, it still had people moving about.

The bright light coming from cars that sped up the road, the townfolks walking on the pedestrian walk way headed to one place or the other, indeed during this time of night, the people of Brookeville still had the guts to move about.

This town was considered the safest after all. It was a town where the strangest of things were bound to not take place, you could call it a blessing to the town but only when you looked deeply would you realize that the town was different from what the humans thought of it.

During this time of the night, when humans still thought they were at their safest, the better version of humans, the ones with unseen abilities to be precise, were also up and moving.

Though they keep themselves at Bay, not wanting to draw attention, by leaving the reputation of Brookeville as it was. Brookeville was a safe haven for people like them, witches, werewolves, vampires and all other creatures.

They would rather do their things in secret, carrying out all other operations in secret with Brookeville being both their headquarters and their safe haven. This town mattered to them.

A particular male figure walked down the streets with an ear piece on both his ears listening to a particular rock music.

It was his favorite rock band from the nineties. He swayed his body as he moved along with other townfolks drawing attention to himself more than four times.

He looked like he was in his twenties, within the age of twenty three and twenty four. When in actual fact he was one of the oldest vampires known to have walked the earth.

It was just one special gift they all had, the gift of never ageing once they clocked twenty years.

With his perfect dark brown hair which was slicked back and perfectly combed at the sides, paired with beautiful dark brown orbs coming together to form a smooth straight face.

He was barely bothered by the attention he was getting as he continuously moved along with the rhythm from his phone carrying that dazzling smile that never seemed to reach his beautiful eyes only lingering on his lips, enhancing them.

Soon enough he took a turn moving straight to a dark alley disappearing from the noise in the neighborhood.

He didn't turn the music off though as he reached the end of the alley. He effortlessly climbed the wall, his black clothes allowing him to mix with the dark alley.

Jumping over to the other side, he landed gracefully and then moved towards a brown looking door which was disguised like a wall. He knocked thrice in a quick pace and the door opened up.

He looked back and forth to be sure no one was watching, afterwards moved in only for the door to be closed shut behind him.

" I wouldn't have bothered if it weren't for you Liam Cohen", a voice came saying as soon as he walked into the place.

Unlike the dark alleys of just now, this place was totally different, it was a particular hallway which lit up with bright expensive lights.

He moved down the hallway and made his way down the only stairs to finally meet the person who he had come to see.

Liam smiled happily as he found the man resting on top of a blue large sized couch. The sitting room was decorated with a huge TV set in the middle of the room, two small blue couches with one extra large, two lamps and a glass table at the center of the room.

Then came the dining room and the kitchen, then another set of stairs which didn't lead to the alley but the rooms upstairs. The house was fully lit up and it was sparkling with the words filthy rich. The chandelier which was hung far up adding to the light in the living room.

" You still remain a fan of the day, don't you Young Demetrius?", Liam Cohen asked smiling as he knew those words he had spoken were supposed to piss off the man resting on the couch in a sleeping position.

As expected, the young man sat up and quietly glared at him. The young man looked no different from Liam, although his hair was blonde in color and long to the extent of being tied up in a bun, he also looked young and twenty four which you guessed correctly was also a lie.

He wore a navy blue suit which did it's best to make him look sort of enchanting by enhancing his muscular frame.

" I don't like the night time here if that's what you are implying Liam Cohen but I know very well that that is not the reason you held me back isn't it? So speak there's no time to waste", Calvin the blonde man said urging Liam to speak.

Liam walked over and sat on one of the blue couches as Calvin wasn't even bothered about him still standing. "Home sick?", he asked chuckling but was met with deep silence.

" I heard the special box was being sent over by your father, did he hand it to you?", Liam asked moving straight to the matter at hand.

" Liam Cohen even if the box was given to me, give me a good reason why I would hand it to you of all people?", Calvin asked with a serious face, he didn't look quite pleased about this town or this particular vampire's visit.

" You owe me a favor Young Demetrius and also I have better use for it than any other person, just imagine it falling in the wrong hands", Liam stated, the smile on his face not faltering one bit, he was one of those vampires known to hide their true intentions with a smile on their face.

" You are the wrong hands Liam Cohen, ask something better of my favor, the box would be given to the right hands and not yours, someone who would be able to take care of it better than you", Calvin stated relaxing himself on the couch properly.

" Let me do a quick guess, you decided to hand the box over to my brother. I know he's the good hands you are obviously talking about, Scott only does good things after all", Liam stated still smiling, not one of admiration or blind love it just remained a peaceful smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.

" Wise guess Liam Cohen, the box is indeed going to be handed over to your brother and I'll see to it that it is done but if you do manage to get your hands on it, send a message, I'll be willing to send someone to get it back", Calvin spoke with his usual poker face which didn't seem to faze Liam.

Liam stood up putting his ear piece which he had long removed back on. The smile on his face still remained as he replied.

" I'll be sure to send a message Young Demetrius, do send my regards to your twin brother, tell him I would love to go hunting with him once again since it's been a long time", Liam said for Calvin to nod in acknowledgement.

" Good day", he greeted as he walked away from the young man going back through the stairs he had used in coming in.

Soon enough as the brown door closed, he was taken away from the light and brought back to the darkness which reminded him it was still night time.

He made his way out of the alley and back down the street which had started to lose townfolks as they were already retiring to their homes for the night.

Calvin laid himself back down on the large blue couch, he was a vampire who loved both the day and the night but while staying here for a whole month, he had come to miss the night time in his home town Seventh Town and would only wish to enjoy it once there again.

He pressed a particular button that switched off all the lights in the entire house as he went into sleep mode.
