INTERROGATE THE RED ROSE

The cold Spring air was a little unbearable in the morning. However, when the sun began to rise again to greet the Earth, the cold feeling gradually subsided.

The moon was in the waxing crescent phase last night, but the sun had risen again to let the beautiful moon have a good rest.

As the Earth officially welcomed the great sun, the red rose once again floated in the air before being enveloped by a red glow. It then gradually turned into a human.

Princess Ievna smiled as she felt the freshness in her body again, but her smile disappeared the moment her silver eyes came into contact with the golden eyes.

When she transformed into her human form yesterday, the arrogant prince was still sleeping soundly in his bed. Unfortunately, what happened today was not the same anymore. The prince had woken up and was looking at her while sitting on his bed.

Princess Ievna gulped nervously. The prince had saved her from dying yesterday, but sometimes she could be pretentious too. This, her heart didn't let her thank the proud prince.

"This humble red rose would like to thank you for your kindness, Your Highness," Princess Ievna managed to suppress her pride and let the words escape her lips.

She didn't sound sincere, but the prince finally smirked before getting out of bed. Princess Ievna presumed the prince would walk closer to her, so she took a step back to avoid getting close.

Prince Reigen openly rolled his eyes when he saw the movement, but he decided to let it pass while continuing the previous topic, "So, you do need water to live? Just like how a red rose needs water? That's why you were dying yesterday? The witches had died, so no one watered you in the last few days?"

The prince suddenly attacked her with countless questions, and Princess Ievna looked at the prince with disdain. "You are very greedy, Your Highness. If you want to know something about me, ask one question at a time," she replied arrogantly.

Princess Ievna was not an arrogant person, but when she faced someone as arrogant as the black-haired prince, she absolutely did not want to lower her head to that person. Quite the contrary, the arrogance of others fueled her arrogance.

On the other hand, Prince Reigen realized that he was too greedy, and there was a reason behind his greediness.

["Why do you want to meet the person who has helped you to make the poisonous dagger, Your Highness?" Connad immediately questioned the prince after the prince finished giving orders to him.

It might have sounded strange to Connad's ears because he didn't expect that the prince would ask him to find that person again after successfully killing Sharass with that person's help.

Instead of feeling enlightened by the prince's explanation, Connad furrowed his brows even more. "I didn't know that you're interested in curses, Your Highness," he dared to let go of his curiosity.

His boldness caused the prince to glare at him. "Just do as I tell you and do your job properly, Connad!" The prince suddenly got angry.

Connad looked frightened, but he still couldn't stop himself from replying to the prince's scolding, "My apologies, Your Highness. I will ask someone to go look for that person, but maybe it will take a long time since that person is hard to find. Many people even say that he is invisible."]

Connad didn't satisfy him last night, and today he wanted to find an answer from the red-haired girl. If he couldn't get more information from others, then he would interrogate the girl head-on.

The red-haired girl protested his greedy attitude, and Prince Reigen sighed before choosing the first question to ask, "So, you really need water to live?"

Princess Ievna nodded before replying, "Yes. Just like roses, I need water to stay alive. The witches used to water me once a day, and that's how I've stayed alive for the last fourteen years."

Prince Reigen made the right guess about the oddity on the stairs inside the tower. Someone must have climbed the stairs every day to leave such a mark on the damp tower.

"So, you only need water to survive? You don't need pots and soil to live like a real rose?" The prince continued his interrogation.

"That's right," replied Princess Ievna as she took her eyes off the prince. "I'm a special red rose, and I just need water to live."

Hearing the word 'special' reminded him of Connad's words, and Prince Reigen snorted, "How can a red rose only rely on water and without soil or pots? That's unrealistic."

Princess Ievna knew that Prince Reigen didn't believe her words, and she couldn't help but laugh sadly. "Do you think the curse itself is realistic, Your Highness? A human was cursed to be a red rose and had to live as a red rose. Do you think that's realistic?"

Princess Ievna dared to laugh at his question, and Prince Reigen glared at the princess. "Your head is small, but you are quite good with your words, Your Highness," he replied sarcastically.

Hearing the prince call her 'Your Highness,' Princess Ievna had an excited look on her face. "You called me 'Your Highness,' so you ended up believing me that I'm indeed Shovalon's princess, right?"

Princess Ievna saw the possibility, and she was quite happy that the prince seemed to recognize her as the princess of Shovalon.

However, the prince ended up sneering at her before replying, "Turns out you're not that smart. You can't even see that I'm being sarcastic, and you're even proud of it. You can't be the princess because you're not very smart."
