The Grave And The Coincidence

I stand there at the grave of my Mother that now rests next to my Father's holding my umbrella up to shield the rain away from me. My mother died recently on Sunday April 21st from a gas explosion in the gas station she worked at. Alongside my mother is my father who died in the army defending our country. I feel someone watching me and turn around but don't see anyone. It's dark out so noone will really see me unless the guy who cleans the graveyard comes at all.

I feel a chill rundown my back as I turn to go and I see a guy about my age sitting on a gravestone.

"Sir, you can't sit down on the gravestones" I say thru some tears

He only tilts his head at me almost confused

"Can you hear me, sir?" I take a step closer and he gets off

He steps back and a reach out to touch him but he's falls to the ground in a hole for a coffin or casket.

I smile down at him as he stares up at me

"Grab my hand I'll pull you back up" I reach out my hand but he shakes his head

"Come on don't be dumb, grab my hand or you won't be able to get back up"

He reaches for my hand but it sees to pass right thru me and I gasp as he climbs up instead

"Miss what are you doing here?" a security guard asks from the fence and he smiles

"I was just---" I notice the boy walking away into the moonlight but the guard doesn't notice it

"Just what miss?" he saunters passed the fence and looks into the hole.

I stare at the boy as he walk off and I point at his back "Did you see that boy?" I ask the man and he sighs "No, miss"

I take off running and follow the boy but then he rounds a corner street and disappears.

When I get home I see my aunt kissing a guy on the counter in the kitchen and I am disgusted.

"Really, Aunt Crystal!" I shout from the doorway

She picks her head up and backs away from the man and he looks vaguely familiar.

He smiles "Your Aunt invited me for dinner so I accepted"

"This is Mason and he's just staying the night" Aunt Crystal says

But the man looks exactly like the boy I saw so I must be giving a weird face because the man frowns.

"Are you ok, Rose?" my aunt asks

I focus on the man "Do you have any kids, sir?"

He shakes his head "I did but he died a year ago in a car accident involving his girlfriend, he was 21 at the time last year and I mourn my son as he was my only child and now I want to make a new family"

I think about the boy I saw at the graveyard "Aunt Crystal?"

She smiles "Yes?"

"I saw a boy at the graveyard about my age or older and I saw him but he looks so much like you it's like a spitting image" I hesitate

"What's the last name of the stone he sat on?" the man asks

I think back to the letter that seemed to pop out and then the names pops into my head "Jameson"

Aunt Crystal gasps "Your mom could kill you for saying that!"

The man smiles at me "My name is Mason Jameson"

I turn red and then a chill runs down my spine and I turn and see the boy but he's inside sitting on the living room couch.

"Rose? What are you looking for?" Aunt Crystal asks

I stutter as the boy smiles at me and waves "H-he's on our couch"

The man looks at me like I'm crazy "Tell me what he looks like then"

The boy watches me and doest blink and as I walk closer but not touch him I whisper "Brown hair, blue and green eyes, fare tanned skin, a scar across his eyebrow, black highlights in his hair also"

The man grabs me but I am pushed back by an invisible force

"Ethan!" Mason shouts at nowhere around the couch and the boy looks at me and frowns before walking THRU THE DAMN DOOR.

I stand there gawking at the way he left and the man sighs and whispers "Sorry for that"

Aunt Crystal is mad now and she stares at me mad for some reason and as the man leaves she grabs my arm and shoves me hard. I land on my face and she ties my arms behind my back. She lifts me up and drags me across the living room and to the door for our basement and she then shoves me into a room with no windows and a steel door. I scream as she unties me and locks the door as she leaves.

"What's the problem, Aunt Crystal?!" I scream but she can't hear me

I walk along the walls with the faded light from the lightbulb on the ceiling and try to feel for a hidden way out but I don't feel any and I fall down against the wall and cry. I don't know how long I cry for but the door opens and she tossed me a pillow and a blanket and a chocolate milk. I ran to the door but she had already locked it and I didn't see her face. I walk back and lay down as I wait for her. She doesn't come anymore that night.
