1 Prologue- Moments become Memories

They say when something big and earth-shattering happens, you remember exactly what you where doing down to the smallest detail. Wars, pandemics, news about death, and things like that are normally the cause.

This was one of those moments.

The high lifted celling, the light of the full moon coming though the skylight above, and perfectly set tables covered with ornate flowers. This time they had chosen a mix of roses, pale pink to go with the gold tones of the rest of the restaurant. The grand father clock ticking to my right, and the smell of the dish passing to my left.

Being a host was both a joy and a struggle. Like right now, when someone didn't want to wait despite the list in front of me and the packed restaurant.

'Just two more hours, just smile and don't show any fear.'

It was exactly seven, I know because I heard the clock next to me go off with it's low 'bong' seven times. It was then that line of text appeared in front of me, stark white words in a plain style, outlined in black.

[Would you like to enter the system, and gain great power?]

In hindsight, I barely had a chance to register the words before replying "Yes" aloud to the customer, as is normal when working as a host. I think she was trying to speak to the manager in that moment, but that isn't important. What is important is I missed the disclaimer in small red text, like in most games when making an important choice saying 'Warning, this can not be undone.'

Everything was still for a moment, as if nothing happened before there was a bright flashing light. It came from different parts in the room, and soon filled my own view. I heard gasps and yelps before everything faded into nothing.

[Welcome to the System of God's, you will be teleported to 'Tutorial']

There was darkness and confusion, and honestly it was like the real life version of a loading screen. It seemed like forever but probably only lasted a moment. The darkness faded into stone, a large empty cave waiting in front of me.

"Ehhhh. Definitely not at work anymore."
