Nephthys's POV

I enter my chamber and lock the door. I don't want anyone to see me like this. I'm weak and miserable. My wife cheated, I'm being played by courtmen, my brothers hate me. The gods must've cursed me.

How do I fix this? How? I kick everything I see in front of me. Break every single thing. Lastly throw away my crown. Everything happened because of this crown. If only I wasn't the Pharaoh I didn't have to leave Izna here alone. My brothers wouldn't hate me. I'd still have a family. I cry, i scream, I hurt myself. It hurts so much being alone.

"I want to die," I say to myself.

"Nephthys please open the door."

"Go away."

"Please! Something happened to your wife."

My mind goes blank. I rush outside immediately.

"What happened to her?"

"Nothing."

"How dare you lie to me, the Pharaoh."

"Uhhhgh you're the most pathetic Pharaoh I've ever seen Nephthys."

Who is this woman? She doesn't look like a normal woman to me. She's able to insult the Pharaoh directly.

"Who are you?"

"Oh dear of course you don't remember me. I'm was father's advisor. This morning he sent me a royal order to come assist his son."

"I don't need you."

"Don't ruin this old woman's mood now. I was enjoying my retirement. Your father ruined it. You're gonna pay for it."

"Get out."

"You must be in a sore mood. Everyone seems to betray you?"

"How do you know?"

"Oh dear there are many things that this old woman knows. I'll teach you all. Come, first let's fix your marriage."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean let's make you a man. Of course a boy can't hold onto his wife for long."

"My point is do you want to have her or get rid of her?"

"Of course I want her. I love her."

So this woman was once called Lapis the genius. She was a real gem in political fields. My father exchanged her with a big piece of land. She helped him managing political affairs. After my father was unable to keep his position due to an injury, she retired too.

I don't know why but I feel like I can trust this woman. I tell her everything that happened this morning. After hearing everything, she gives me an idea to get rid of Seth without breaking a sweat. The first one is to order Izna to sleep with me. According to the laws a Pharaoh can command his wives, concubines, consorts, courtesans to sleep with him whenever he wants. I will have to keep ordering her to sleep with me every night. Even if we don't get intimate others won't know what happened inside. Secondly, I have to send Seth a beautiful slave. I can't send it personally. He will start suspecting. I will make someone else send it to him. This way I can prove him as a leecher. Once Izna thinks he's not worth her love she will eventually come back to me. What a perfect theory!
