Doctor Samantha

Samantha Rowen looked up at the tall hospital building as she stepped out of the black car she came in.

The seven storeys tall hospital building had a nameplate, "DnE Psychiatric Hospital" which anyone could see from any corner they were viewing the hospital.

"Doctor Samantha?" A feminine voice called out to her and Samantha looked up at the woman dressed in black suit with a white coat over it.

"Good morning Doctor Jane." Samantha bowed and the woman in her late thirties, Jane nodded before pointing towards the entrance.

"This way." Jane said before she started walking off. Samantha caught up with her as fast as she could.

Samantha didn't expect her to come welcome her all by herself. Jane was the Chief Doctor and the one overseeing things in the whole of DnE hospital.

They stepped into the building and Samantha couldn't agree less that the hospital was amazingly beautiful. The interior of the reception alone was mind-blowing.

Different doctors were busy moving about either with their patients or alone.

"I'll take you on a quick tour first as I tell you about the patient you'll be taking care of. Once you get to him, you'll know who he is." Jane said as she led her out the open glass door, leading into a beautiful garden.

Samantha was transferred from her old hospital to this one to take care of that particular patient. Out of thousands of doctors, according to them, she is the only one still fit to try handling the patient.

"This is the main garden where most times, doctors and patients have their outdoor therapy sessions. DnE is so large that we have over three hundred patients who are either healing or yet to heal. You'll have the opportunity to take care of other patients if you're able to deal with the one you're here for." Jane explained to Samantha before turning back into the building.

Samantha hurriedly rushed after her, looking around to get familiar with the place. Jane collected an iPad from one of the nurses before leading her into the elevator.

"The patient you'll be taking care of is not like any other typical patients you've dealt with before. He is aggressive, cold and picky." Jane explained as she scrolled through the iPad with her.

"He isn't only mentally unstable, he has some other conditions you'll learn about when you get to meet him. I'll advice you to be careful with him Doctor Samantha. You wouldn't want to get into trouble with his guards."

"Yes ma'am." Samantha nodded.

"You must sanitize yourself before getting into his ward at all." Jane said as the elevator stopped and they stepped out of the elevator.

A nurse took Samantha's bag and others handed her a coat and clipboard after she washed her hands.

Jane continued down the hallway with her eyes still fixed on her screen, and occasionally glancing up to check her steps.

"This is his personal rooftop garden. All therapy sessions to be done outdoors would be held there." Jane pointed at the garden through the glass door.

"You will be the one cooking his meals." Jane said and Samantha looked confused. It was never stated in the contract that she would be cooking for him. As if Jane read her mind, she turned to look at her.

"It states in the contract that you're going to take care of him according to the hospital's requirements. He doesn't eat just any food and if he decides not to eat yours, maybe we'll get him another cook. I'm sure you went to cooking classes while you were young."

"Wait, did you dig into my background that much? That's a privacy intrusion." Samantha protested but Jane didn't look affected one bit.

"The dietitian would be sending you the list of his food combinations and I beg you Doctor Samantha, please follow them all strictly." Jane said before turning into a corridor with huge men in black standing there.

Samantha looked intimidated by their sizes as she walked behind Jane who stopped abruptly before a glass door.

"I'll have to warn you not to try and piss him off either Doctor Samantha. Mr Skylar gets irritated by people who get on his nerves." Jane said before making way for her to see through the glass door.

"That is your patient. Mr Skylar."
