Eve and Jack spent their time talking about a few more things until they were about finished with the food they had ordered.

So after licking his fingers clean that still had some sauce on them and using the paper napkins to get the rest of the rough grease off, he stuffed the used papers with some other thrash inside the empty boxes to make it look clean on the tray.

Looking at Eve also finishing up and having not as nearly a messy eating style as himself he could see a glimpse of a very content smile on her face that got him to chuckle.

"Looks like you enjoyed it. Should I get something else?" He asked her now.

"Nah, I'm pretty full. Any more and I will end up rolling out of here." Eve showed a hearty grin and it really showed she was not having any second thoughts anymore.

"Alright, let me put the tray away and take a quick toilet break before we leave. You good with that?"

"Sure, I'll wait."

With that, Jack stood up and went to put the tray away and then entered the male toilet. It didn't take long since he only needed to do his small business.

But after washing his hands and drying them he felt his phone vibrating. So too a look and saw his aunt asking where he was.

Seeing the text he looked at the time and frowned a little bit.

'A little bit overprotective...' His thoughts pretty much now confirmed what he was feeling about his aunt. She clearly went over the necessary amount of attention he needed from her.

But at the same time, he couldn't be too annoyed about it for too long. There was still a rather mature mind in this body for what it was worth. Making it quick he sent a reply with some information that it wouldn't take much longer and that he was currently in the city.

Surprisingly she didn't nag and just agreed to his current circumstance, But she did still add for him to give her a heads-up if he stayed at someone's place so that their stories came to the same conclusion if someone was asking about him.

'Did someone ask about me or is there something else?' It confused him a little.

He wondered what exactly she was thinking now. He wasn't going to stay anywhere...Where did she even get that assumption from? But just at that moment, he felt a weird sensation when trying to finish his thoughts.

And it had to wait anyways since he saw the three guys that were outside before having entered inside and surrounding Eve.

Frowning even more than before he started looking at the corners of the restaurant and then went ahead to join the group after pocketing his phone.

"What is going on here?" He asked the moment he came closer.

One of the guys the furthest away from the group suddenly started standing in his path and looking at him.

Jack only stared at the guy and raised one of his brows.

"Come on girl. Why don't you leave the loser and enjoy some time with us, huh?" The guy that was grabbing Eve's wrist continued talking as if he didn't hear Jack's question from before.

"Let go, you asshole!" Eve tried to push away the guy but she was not strong enough to do so. The brown-haired guy was not exactly a simple pushover for her.

Taking a glance over to the cashiers from the restaurant, Jack could already see them talking.

"Alright, not sure what you clowns are planning, but you better take your hands off her if you don't want to be charged with assault." Just pushing the guy standing in his way to the side he went ahead and tried to pull on the wrist of the guy holding Eve's own.

Before he could do so the guy spun around and slapped Jack's hand away and glared at him. "What is a greaser like you getting involved? Don't you see we are talking right now?"

Now that surprised Jack. It was not the fact that this guy was starting to insult him but that he actually had enough brain cells to figure out his heritage. And by all means, it wasn't exactly easy to notice.

Looking at his hand that was slapped away for a moment he went back to pay this guy his attention while also keeping some of it to the others.

"Huh. What gave me away? The slightly curly hair? Well, with your balding mohawk, I would also cry out in jealousy for some glistening locks..."

Oregon was really not one of the best states to live in when you had two nationalities or slightly darker skin than normal. Yet he was pretty white and this guy still managed to figure something out.

"But I guess short people seem to have a short temper and a foul mouth with it. Don't make this a stupid racist case. Not that I'm surprised. But don't feed yourself to the stereotypes."

Then Jack lowered his chin after analyzing the other guy's features. It wasn't yet really noticeable the last time he confronted another male that was literally a giant, but looking at this guy in front of him, Jack noticed his much higher breathing space.

"Also, don't yap so much bullshit."

"What the hell are you bastard even talking about?" The guy still kept being venomous. Not that he should even care about his comment about him being shorter. He only went half a head shorter than his current 6 feet 2

"Okay, I will repeat it for your slow head...I said, leave her alone..." Jack's voice now also became a lot rougher and unfriendlier. "And piss off before this ends uglier." Then he looked at Eve. "Let's go, no use wasting our time here."

But just when Eve wanted to walk past Jack the guy pulled at Eve again and that brought her to fall.

At the same time, Jack pushed the guy forcibly away so that he also landed with his arse on the floor.

"Didn't I just tell you to fuck off? So you want to keep this up until I beat you up and you end up in jail?" Jack was clearly pissed now and his mood soured. Everything from here on would be self-defense if this guy started to go past the clear warning that he performed now.

"The one going to jail will be you! We got three guys seeing you starting this!"The guy barked back and stood up quickly.

"Oh, is that right? And the cameras in this place are made out of plastic? Fine, let's do this then." Taking out his phone he dialed 911 instantly. "Hey, I want to report an assault...Yeah, we are at.."

"You fucker!" The guy actually had the balls to try and punch Jack while he was on the phone but with a simple sidestep, he evaded and then send a knee to the guy's abdomen to destabilize his stand.

The guy keeled over to the tables and with another kick to the backside of on of his knees, he got him to keel over completely and plant his face on the table with his palm also planted on him with some force.

Though the one guy grunted loudly from the pain and would be taking some time to get his bearings, the other two suddenly mixed into this fiasco. So Jack quickly let his phone fall to the ground and let go of the defeated rat to start brawling with the other two thugs.

A few punches and kicks landed on him while he tried to get the brawl away from Eve in the rather narrow table jungle. But in the end, even with them ganging up he got them beat after a minute or two.

Or at least he counted it as his win since some of the male staff from the restaurant finally stopped the fighting entirely.

A tad too late for his taste but at least they now stopped this.

His whole body hurt like hell. Jack still hadn't enough muscles on his body to brush off this kind of violence yet even if he knew how to fight from his past life.

Yet he could see the bleeding nose from the one dude having his face planted on the table. And it brought a small satisfied smile to his face.

Apparently, the Herculean trait also gives him a talented body for fighting without thorough training. It was a good thing to find out.

Later the police joined the little accident and everyone gave their testimonies. And sure enough, with the cameras and the staff having kinda seen what was happening and his phone still having recorded some of the hustle through the call, the trio was taken away.

"We will contact you later." The officer that took their IDs said and walked away.

A little bit later the two of them could leave as well and were walking through the streets.

"You alright, Eve?" Jack asked now while carrying Eve on his back.

"Yeah...Thanks." Eve looked rather worriedly at him. Especially when thinking about that cut on his lip.

"Are you thinking about this?" Jack noticed her gaze on his lower face and then pinched his lip lightly with his teeth. "That ain't much to worry about. It will heal fast. How's your foot?" Jack was more concerned about her own injury that she received when falling after the guy pulled her.

After all, it did result in her spraining her left heel. "And are you really sure to leave this how it ended? You know you could easily get these guys punished much harder?"

"I know. But I don't really want to get all the hassle with the police going..."

"Is there some specific reason for that?" He asked back about why she left these idiots walking with a minor ticket for having done violence. Something he also received, mind you.

Guess self-defense only goes so far, still worth it.

"Are you mad that I left it like that? After all, I can understand if you are. You got injured because of me."

"I'm not mad. And I would do it again." His answer was short and precise.

Eve stayed silent at his answer but he could feel her hands tighten their grip on his shoulders.

"We are going to miss the last bus now..." She said quietly now and changed the topic.

Jack chuckled. "Well, then I guess I'll get to enjoy a night in a hotel with a lovely girl."

After his words, Eve definitely reacted agitatedly. He could feel her squirming around on his back a little and her breath told him that she tried to say something.

"I'm just joking." That on the other hand got a soft punch on his head from her.

"But seriously, what are we going to do now?", she asked him again with her voice sounding somewhat puffy.

"Well, that is easy. I always wanted to get myself a car. So we take a detour to the dealership."

"Wait, you are joking, right? How are you going to pay that?"

"Don't worry your little head over that. I'm just renting it..." And that was a lie.

"Okay..." Eve just accepted whatever he did with his money by now as some sort of norm. Though she still tried to stop him from wasting too much. While thinking about it some more she unconsciously snuggled into his back to let the quiet sink in and the warmth from his body calm her.

It was really something else walking in a dimly lit night carrying a girl on your back that was also pressing her chest at your backside.

Probably also not the first thing Jack would think of happening, if he wasn't exactly in this situation and feeling the warmth coming from her.

And weirdly enough his libido was also going haywire. 'Fuck...This is definitely a Fecund thing...'

But keeping his mind preoccupied on more pressing matters he ended up buying a new car and then driving it back to the town.

So his first-ever drive in this world became a night ride. And his first hangout with his friend got her an injury from some dumb incident.

Weirdly enough she didn't really blame him for it later.

Was it a successful day? Kinda? He got what he was there for. But also things he was not all too happy about. Well, such is life.
