4 Chapter 4: Crisis

''Host, do you want the original person's memory? When the System extracts his origin, the System already stores his memory. Would the host like to assimilate with it?....this memory would help the host understand this world quickly''. 

Gu Fanyu narrowed his eyes when he heard the System's suggestion and he knew that the original person's memory is really useful.

But Gu Fanyu refused. ''No need, I don't want to create trouble for myself later''.

''Hehe… You're quite cautious, host!'', the System says in a teasing tone.

Hearing the System's words made Gu Fanyu's face turn gloomy instantly because he realized that the System actually knew about the hidden danger when you dare assimilate with someone else's memory. 

Although it was true that assimilating with the original person's memory can help Gu Fanyu understand this world quickly, but the System does not explain the consequences of doing so. 

What is memory? … It is the source of human emotions!

Emotions can be both strength and weakness for humans.

Once you obtain someone's memory, subconsciously, that person's memory will influence you. Over time, that memory will grow stronger, especially when you meet and interact with people this person loves.

The main reason why Gu Fanyu doesn't dare to assimilate with the original person's memory is due to many unknown aspects. 

What if the original person is someone who really loved his family and had a lot of happy memories?

Gu Fanyu is not sure if he can resist it and not be affected by it.

Gu Fanyu didn't want to take this risk.

Although Gu Fanyu had a strong heart and indifferent mind. But it does not change the fact that he is still a human with emotions.

However, he still needs to know basic information about the original person.

''System, can you tell me something about the original person…at least his name?'.

Ding! Instantly, a virtual screen appeared in front of Gu Fanyu's eyes.

Status: Ordinary Human (Citizen of the United States of America)

After seeing these, Gu Fanyu still felt uneasy. 

What he wants to know most is how the original person died?

If the original person died caused by natural death or suicide, it would not be a problem for Gu Fanyu.

But what if the original person was killed? It is obvious Gu Fanyu will be in big trouble.

Gu Fanyu pondered for a few minutes on how to investigate the reason the original person died.

But the best way he could come out at the moment needed at least a few days to succeed. 

The System suddenly speaks. '' Host, there is actually a safer way for you to get all the memory of the original person''.

Hearing this, Gu Fanyu's eyes lighted up and asked. ''What's the method?''.

''Information transfer!''

''If assimilating memory makes you feel like you are experiencing all those events in the memory, then information transfer is like you are reading a book. Where only information would pour into your mind. There are no images or sounds, only data''. 

Gu Fanyu thought for a while and nodded. ''Alright, I have to know everything. Transfer it!

Ding! Process begin.

Instantly, countless amounts of information entered his brain. The information was like a heavy wave hitting his head and this process lasted for 20 seconds. 

After a few minutes, the headache and pain dissipated. 

Gu Fanyu spends 15 minutes processing all that information. Sometimes he frowned, sometimes he was relieved and in the end Gu Fanyu just shook his head slightly and sighed.
