Chapter 5

Three years ago, Mei Kao was studying martial arts in the school. But since the corrosion incident, the alchemy curriculum accepted the victims as a herb specialist. They focuses on studying herbs, where to find it, what are its uses, and how to cook them.

Now that the cure is found, few students came back to the martial arts curriculum. A majority remained because they enjoy the benefits of herb specialist or they couldn't afford the cure.

Now that I am cured, I will go back to the martial arts. Reasons are, first, I already know everything when it comes to herbs. Second, I need a cover so that people will not be suspicious of me when I got strong all of a sudden. Third is that a lot of beautiful ladies are enrolled on martial arts. Some women doesn't really like going to dangerous mountains to collect plants. They mainly focuses on their body.

After I processed my transfer, I went to the classroom. As I enter, a lot of my classmates staring at me. Some stares feels like they are disgusted at me. But then I found my seat and sat quietly. The instructor came in afterwards.

The lesson started, I am bored with these stuff. They are teaching us the physiology of the body. The meridians and acupuncture points and tge organs are discussed. As I glanced everywhere, I noticed a girl staring at me. She looks away when I our eyes meet. I don't remember this girl in my memory. I didn't mind it and just listened to the lesson.

The discussion finished and the instructor notifies us about an event.

""The nation-wide annual fight contest will happen in six months. All students are allowed to focus on their cultivation. If anyone needs an assistance or information, you can directly ask an instructor for help. Each school will choose 10 participant. Only the top 10 can enter the contest. You will have a battle in 5 months to determine who will be the top 10. That is all""

The instructor left and I went to the cafeteria to each lunch. I saw the girl who was staring at me in the classroom and went to my table.

""Mm. Hello Mei Kao, can I sit here?""

"Sure. But do I know you?"

""I don't think so. I am your classmate in the herb specialist curriculum. This is my first time talking to you.""

"Oh I see. So what is your name?"

""I am Lu Xin Chen. You can call me Lu.""

"I am Mei Kao, but you already know that."

We both smiled and began eating. She looks at my lunch and was surprised. Probably because I order a lot if food.

""Are you gonna eat all of that?""

"Of course. I miss food like this. It has been ages since I eat this kind of food."

The food in the cafeteria was cooked by the amazing chef from the best culinary school in the nation. Eating here is one of the luxury in the school. You can eat as long as you have the points to pay for it.

Points are distributed to every student in the school. Points are acquired when finishing a task, winning a stage fight, gathering herbs, etc. These points can be exchanged to kinas or can be used to enter different establishment in the school, including the library.

Lu Chen and I shared stories with each other. She was once a powerful cultivator among her friends 3 years ago. But due to the corrosion disease, her friends bullied her and transfered to the herb specialist curriculum.

""It is not too late for me to cultivate again. I can catch up to them in no time."" She pointed out.

"That's the spirit. I am glad that you are the first friend that I know here (except for Wei Yi). We can help each other achieve our goal. We can start by going to the library."

Mei Kao accumulated points for the first level of the library. These level has books that contain low tier martial skills. It is suited for a newbie cultivator. The higher the level, the better the tier level books.

The library has 5 levels. Low-tier, mid-tier, high-tier, epic and legendary level. No one really knows what in the 5th level is except the crown prince. It is rumored to only contain 3 books. The prince has one of the three books. He graduated last year and he was ranked first in the school and ranked 2nd in the annual contest.

They both entered the library and they both choose 2 books. Lu chose the rock shattering palm and wind step skill. I chose the splitting mountain sword skill and water dance.

""I didn't expect for you to be a sword cultivator.""

"Well, wielding a sword looks cool. I like to look cool."

""That is the reason? Hahahah. You are so funny.""

"Huh?"

We left the library. I told Lu to come see me in two weeks so I can help her to cultivate faster. She agreed to come see me in two weeks.

I can now focus on the spirit gathering array instead of going school and accumulating points for martial skills. I will learn the skills that I got and I will improve it.

I can complete the array in 5 days. Well, the mountain is big so I will be having time installing the runes. Time to go home and start working on it.
