11 Picking A City

"Alright big brother, the food will be ready soon so don't stay too long in the game," Remi yelled out in response.

Chen just nodded as he made his way into his room and locked the door behind him.

"Player Stats," Chen called out.

Zhiiooonn~

A blue-coloured panel appeared in front of him in the next instant.

Chen noticed that some MP had been deducted.

"50 MP for every activation I guess..." Chen calculated.

Chen recalled the ease at which he was able to lift those bags of sugar at the factory throughout the entire night without getting tired.

"Increased strength levels," He said while tightening his fist and raising his arm to check his biceps.

"Along with an ability... I could find better work now," Chen said with a look of enthusiasm.

With the increase in levels, he now had way more opportunities to explore.

Chen decided to get back into the game in the meantime so he could further his level.

After climbing into the tub it closed up and the voice of the AI was heard once more as he logged into the game.

"PLAYER WILL NOW BE TRANSPORTED INTO OVERWORLD!"

Zhiiiiinnnnnnn~

Chen reappeared once more on these familiar grounds in the same outfit as before...

Brether Mist village.

Even though he had only been here for a little over two days, Chen had gotten used to this place.

He toured across the grounds of the village once more despite haven seen every single part of this village.

"It's time to say goodbye," Chen muttered as he stared at the half animals and humans walking about the place.

<Player can now head to a city of their choice>

<Move to a designated teleportation station to be transported to your desired city>

As if to remind him that he was already beyond level 10, this notification popped up again.

He had the map so he knew which direction to head in.

Chen turned towards the east at this point and began to stroll forward.

Overworld was at least four times larger than the earth so it would take a lot of time to walk to any of the cities if there were no teleportation stations.

According to some game scouts, there were also Kingdoms which were structured better and larger than cities but one could not use the teleportation station here to get to it.

There were also several requirements before one could get into a kingdom.

Chen just wanted to get to a city right now so he could get better quests, loots and Level Up faster.

It only took a few minutes of trekking before he arrived at an area filled with multiple cylindrical-shaped structures that were about ten feet tall.

According to the map in his hands, this was the precise location of the teleportation station so he didn't need to be told before he figured out that these cylindrical structures would be responsible for sending him to a city.

Chen arrived in front of one of them and went in.

Troooinnn!

Screens lit up within the cylindrical structure, displaying different pictures of locations.

[Where Does Player Wish To Go?]

<Avion City>

<Everlasting City>

<Top Brew City>

<Stancing City>

<Othrizih City>

Chen stared at different images being displayed of the different cities. They all looked well structured and quite beautiful but one city among them drew his attention more than the others.

'Everlasting City... It's a city suspended in the skies?' He noticed there were clouds all around the floating grounds that had structures erected on them.

It looked more futuristic than all of the other cities despite traditional outfits being a default dressing style within the city.

Chen was really interested in checking this city out but he decided not to.

"I'm still very low levelled compared to other players, it would be better if I picked a city on the ground," Chen voiced as he turned to the left.

"Stancing City,"

[Player Has Chosen Stancing City]

The internal space of this structure suddenly lit up with a green light and in the next instant...

Twiii!

Chen got teleported to his destination.

As the blinding light died down, Chen noticed he was standing in a kind of transparent tube, cylindrical in structure like the other one.

Zhiiiiizzzhhh!

It slid open and Chen walked out of it. What appeared in his line of sight was a marvellously structured city just like the images.

The grounds were well tiled with white bricks and even the buildings around were made of fine materials as well.

Lots of people could be seen moving around which made it hard to figure out which ones were players and which ones were NPCs unless the players allowed for their names to be displayed above their heads.

Chen looked around and the city was exactly how it had been portrayed in the teleportation booth that sent him here.

Castle like buildings was all over the place along with a few tall tower-like buildings as well. There was an enormous statue of a man with wings in the northwest area of the city and unknown figures could be seen flying in the skies as well.

With the way, people kept moving around and ignoring the figures in the sky. He could tell that this was a normal occurrence in the city.

-"The Owls protected section c of the city from burglars yesterday,"

-"They're so strong I want to be like them,"

Chen could hear the gossip from passersby about the figures in the skies.

'So they are called The Owls?' Chen took note of this as he began making his way forward.

-"Get your magic potions at discounted prices."

-"Selling healing potions and one use magic items,"

-"Weapons of different classes at cheap price, no need to go to the auction house,"

As Chen moved around, he could spot some outside vendors who didn't own shops or private business areas.

They just sold their items outside. It was also unknown if they were NPCs or players.

-"Get your city maps here at a cheap price,"

Chen finally heard the voice of a vendor selling something he was interested in. Chen moved towards the right side of the road.

"How much for a city map?" He questioned.

"One copper coin," The man who was currently wearing a snake patterned cloth with a hoodie responded.

Chen checked his coins presently and noticed he had around six silver coins. He passed one of them to the vendor who displayed a surprised expression upon getting it.

One hundred copper coins were equivalent to one silver coin and ten silver coins were equivalent to one gold coin.

It was very difficult to obtain a lot of coins in Overworld except through certain monetization channels. Due to this, a person with a silver coin would be considered pretty rich.

The reason Chen had this much was due to the loot Pete had accumulated from slaughtering creatures of the same level continuously.

Without being able to leave the village, there was no means of spending it.

It was possible to convert game currency into real-world currency but he wasn't even able to leave and use the channels necessary for that.

However, at present Pete(Chen) wasn't thinking of converting the current amount of coins he had into money in real life.

He was still being cautious as the money would be needed for important things in the game so he decided that until he had accumulated more than enough he wasn't going to make any conversions.

Chen continued his walk around the city with a map in his hands.

The map displayed all the regions within the civilized part of the city and the parts that led to the forest region where one could grind monsters.

His location was displayed on the map with two small red glowing footprints. This made the map easier to navigate as the footprints would change position on the map while he moved.

"There's no time to waste, I need to grind stronger creatures and level up faster before I think of taking on any mission," Chen muttered as he stared at a particular location on the map.
