Chapter 15: An Acquaintance

"Welcome to Divine Blossom Pavilion. My name is Zi Yue, and since you are new I can be your guide. And show you around…." One of the ladies said in a melodic voice.

Before she can finish, the lady with emerald Harpins interjects, her eyes sparkling with confidence. "Junior Brother, I've been here for a long time. Trust me, I know this place like the back of my hand.""

Before Liang Chen could respond, a third woman shouldered in between them, her Phoenix eyes flashing, "Pay them no heed. I am Fang Mingzhu. My father is an Elder in the sect. So I can tell you some inside information."

"What a load of bullshit!" The first lady said with disdain, "You only know some outdated gossip information."

"Junior Brother don't listen to them. Come with me, I can show you around." The lady started pulling his hand after saying this.

"Lady…" Liang Chen who was pulled by her wanted to say we are not that close but he was interrupted by another woman.

"Junior Sister, Don't be in a hurry. This is not a child's play. What Junior brother needs now is an experienced guide just like me. Who can tell him the do's and don'ts of the pavilion." The lady with emerald harpins linked one of her arms firmly around Liang Chen's arms.

Like this the ladies started arguing among themselves and Liang Chen was pushed and pulled around like a commodity.

Liang Chen felt his head spinning in confusion.

Why are they so enthusiastically trying to be my guide? I don't even know them

Is this my charm? For a moment, an absurd thought that never occurred to him appeared in his mind. And his ego started to inflate.

Then, he caught a glimpse of other male disciples experiencing the same push-and-pull. 

And his ego, Which was barely inflated, exploded with a popped balloon. 

'If it's not my charm then what is it…'

'And why does this frenzy seem oddly familiar...' Liang Chen thought, brow furrowed as the women bantered and grasped at him.

Then his eyes widened with sudden realization. 'A ha! This reminds me of when I was nearly robbed blind as a clueless tourist!'

His face rapidly drained of color, becoming a sickly green at the memory of nearly losing his pants and shoes on that trip. He still twitched when hearing the words "discount rubies".

Wrenching himself free, Liang Chen threw up his palms. "Please, ladies, no need to compete over me!" He forced an awkward grin. "I don't have any money…"

The women paused their bickering, staring at Liang Chen in surprise. Then peals of melodic laughter rang out amongst them.

"Oh Junior Brother, we require no money for our assistance," Zi Yue said, covering her grin with an embroidered silk sleeve.

"We simply wish to welcome new disciples," the emerald-haired woman added.

Fang Mingzhu sidled back up to Liang Chen, grasping his hand. "But if you do need money, you could always come see this Senior Sister. I have a...work for you." She smiled coquettishly.

The first two women immediately scowled, the one yanking Fang's hand off Liang Chen's arm with an indignant huff. "Have you no shame?"

As the ladies descended into bickering once more, Liang Chen slowly edged backwards, seeking an escape while he still could. Though their offers were tempting, experience had taught him nothing came for free.

"The Enforcement Squad is here! Grab the man and flee!" a panicked shout rang out.

Mayhem erupted as propriety was discarded, Ladies started pulling them without any explanation.

Liang Chen was the same, But this time the situation was worse than before as few more joined the fray, the chaos compounding as Liang Chen was whipped about violently, directionless and dizzy

Liang Chen looked around and saw that every man was experiencing the same, Even the sleeping guy was being pulled around too.

'And how is he sleeping through this chaos?' Liang Chen wondered incredulously

He also noticed an acquaintance amidst the frenzy.

"Cao Ming!"

He shouted but his voice was drowned within the chaos. 

"Please ladies… Please don't fight for me."

At this moment, A strange conversation floated in his ears and Liang Chen looked at the source. Liang Chen saw a man in an orange robe, Being pulled around just like him but the words from his mouth were incomprehensible.

"I know all of you like me… But don't go this far..!"

"I would give everyone a fair chance to pursue me… And I will treat you all equally, So don't fight…"

"For my sake, Please stop fighting!" 

"Does that man truly think that these girls like him? Pursuing him?" Liang Chen was stunned by the sheer dumbness of the guy. This guy was just enjoying his fantasy in the chaos.

"Everyone Stop!."a stern voice bellowed out.

"Run! The law enforcement is already here. Pick which one you like and leave with him."

The hysteria amplified further as hands grasped wildly at Liang Chen from all sides. He spun about, utterly lost, as the womens descended into further madness.

At the last moment, He felt someone grab on his right arm tightly and pulled him out of the crowd. 

After that Liang Chen didn't know what was going on as they shuttled through the chaotic crowd and finally stopped after some time.

"You can relax now, You are safe." He heard this sentence and looked up and saw a young lady. She seemed around eighteen years old, with delicate features and skin like porcelain. Her jet black hair was pinned up gracefully with ivory combs, a few loose strands framing her face.

She wore flowing purple robes cinched at the waist with a silver sash. The rich color complemented her willowy frame. As she met his gaze, he noticed her eyes - almond shaped and a striking amber hue, almost glowing against her fair complexion.

"Long time no see, Liang Chen!" A hint of a smile played at her rosebud lips, Her voice gentle and refined.

'Oh boy, An acquaintance ..' Liang Chen swallowed the greeting he wanted to say after hearing her. This was the scene he didn't want to face the most.

Meeting an acquaintance, Who knows him but he doesn't have any memory of them. After all, he did not receive full memory after transmigration.
