Red Monkey

One day later, in an empty living room, Geof stared at the opened door with seriousness.

He was only one layer before the outside world.

Currently, Geof had possessed his werewolf puppet. After spending hours of training, he was much more comfortable with the puppet's body.

With his newfound strength, Geof was confident that he could take out 10 adults easily.

'It's now or never!' Geof steeled his heart as he galloped towards the black fog.

Thereafter, Geof's vision darkened, and when his vision gained clarity, he was greeted by an astonishing scene.

Three suns were illuminating Geof's face with enthusiastic light. Although there were three enormous suns, he barely feel the heat unlike on Earth where skin could be scorched from long exposure to the sun.

Aside from the clear blue sky with 3 giant suns, Geof also noticed that he was surrounded by tall trees that were higher than 4 story buildings.

Geof quickly scanned the surrounding area and went to hide in a bush.

'Forest. It isn't the worse but it isn't the best place to stay either,' Geof heightened his senses.

Fortunately, the air was breathable, gravity was similar to earth, and no dangerous creature was in sight.

However, Geof decided to stay hidden to study the forest's environment.

....

.....

Rustle!

"Hoo-haa!"

"Ha-ha ho0!"

Two red monkeys were swaying at a branch as though they were playing tag. They had joyous energy as though it was their first time.

Suddenly, one red monkey that was bigger than the other went quiet, its expression shifted from joyous to solemn.

With a swing, the red monkey quickly headed north. It was in a rush as though it was summoned by something, or someone.

The smaller monkey also followed with confusion.

Geof was perched inside the bush as he witnessed the whole event.

Geof wasn't surprised by the two red monkeys' existence.

For the past hour, he had been using his skill; [Detection] repeatedly every time it was usable and gained a general understanding of the area.

[Detection (Active)]

[Enhanced the sense of smell and hearing by tenfold to detect objects within 2-kilometers. Last for 10 minutes.]

[Skill Cool Down: 20 minutes]

'It seems like this area is the monkeys' territory,' Geof frowned. 'Problematic indeed.'

Geof counted a total of 1,000 red monkeys inside his [Detection], and it appeared that the monkeys were extremely intelligent as they would gather food and wood methodically like it was their daily job.

There are also red monkeys that are equipped with primitive weapons like wooden spears and bows. These kinds of red monkeys, however, were fewer than the gatherer as they patrol the forest regularly.

Geof's expression turned dark. These creatures were smart enough to arm themselves and form a simple hierarchy.

And clearly, the group was territorial and hostile to trespassers. So Geof couldn't just simply walk away.

'Fortunately, their base is located more than 2-kilometers to the north, I could flee to the south and easily avoid them with their numbers being fewer.'

'Combine with my senses, I could evade them easily.'

Geof rubbed his nose with confidence. However, this action caused him to inhale the fur of his hand.

"Achoo!"

Geof sneezed loudly like a fully blown trumpet.

Geof senses suddenly went crazy. Obviously, his instinct was telling him to get out as quickly as possible.

"Sht!" In less than no time, Geof dashed out of the large bush and went towards the south with all fours.

Almost immediately after he sneezed, a louder cry of a monkey resounded, followed by numerous cries, like an alarm, it notified everyone of an intruder.

Swish!

An arrow suddenly grazed Geof's cheeks.

Geof run even faster as cold sweat trickled down his back. If it wasn't for his divine talent, [Divine Battle Instinct] he would be out right now.

Chasing from behind was ten monkeys with wooden bows and spears. Their faces were distorted from anger. Evidently, they were outraged by Geof's presence.

Another three arrows were simultaneously shot at Geof with great speed and precision.

Geof's eyes turned cold as he dodge the arrows naturally by a hair's breadth.

Thereafter, 2 wooden spears hustled towards him.

Geof didn't even need to look back as he twisted his body to avoid the first spear and grabbed the latter.

"Quick Movement!" Geof activated his skill as he clenched the spear tightly.

[Quick Movement (Active)]

[Consume stamina to boost overall movement speed. Last for 2 minutes.]

[Skill Cooldown: 1 day]

Bang!

Geof's movement suddenly accelerated as he threw back the wooden spear, it then whirled, killing two red monkeys at the same time.

Thereafter, Geof continued his departure 3 times faster than his initial speed, leaving behind infuriated monkeys.

2 minutes later, by the time [Quick Movement] ended, Geof was already a kilometer away from the red monkey's territory.

Geof climbed through a thick branch and hid thoroughly as furious wails resounded faintly from the north.

From his [Detection], Geof could observe that the red monkeys halted at a certain area, shouting angrily in his direction as though they could no longer go past beyond that line.

'That was too close..!' Geof laid down heavily.

Because of the skill's prerequisite— which cost his stamina, almost all of Geof's strength had left his body.

Fortunately, he had the Divine Talent, [Divine Battle Instinct], or else he would be back in his house right now, thoroughly puppetless.

The talent's performance was evident.

Geof was able to evade projectiles naturally and battled as though he fought for a living.

Although Geof was an inexperienced fighter, his body moved before his brain could even think. He was like possessed by the God of war.

Geof knew the value of his talent, but it was more astounding than he had imagined.

In this dimension, every creature is blessed with talents the moment they are born. Talents could either be inherited or innate. With the latter being stronger, versatile, and unique.

Talents were classified as Legendary, Epic, Rare, and Common. With Common being the weakest and Legendary as the strongest.

Divine class talent wasn't included in the [Tome of Knowledge I] but Geof was certain that it wasn't any weaker than a Legendary talent.

After all, it would only grow stronger with his strength. As of now, Geof was too weak to demonstrate the talent's full capabilities.

If it were, then Geof wouldn't have been too desperate to escape the red monkey's territory.

'I wasn't just running from the ten monkeys, but the whole tribe,' Geof smiled bitterly.

From his [Detection], Geof realized that the red monkey's population was much bigger than he thought.

A kilometer away from him were more than 10,000 red monkeys that have gathered. Behind their maliciousness, however, was a slightly constrained behavior.

It was as if their actions were regulated.

As if they are to follow some kind of rules. And in this jungle, rules were only created by the strong.

Geof couldn't imagine someone who could subdue those thousands of crazy monkeys.
