Chapter 7: Setting off

Seeing that she agreed he replied "Oh don't worry It's not much, all I want you to do is let me follow you to Sky Palace"

Hearing his request confused her "Why do you want to follow me?"

"I figured I'd also give it a try and see if I can join Sky Palace as well and you seem to have misunderstood something here, I am not following you there, you are guiding me there" he stated clearly.

"If it lets you sleep better then fine think of it like that" she huffed and went back to recovering her energy.

Feeling a little more at ease for his future he decided to finally stabilize his cultivation. Within a minute, his cultivation base had stabilized.

Seeing that it was the perfect time to start cultivating he took advantage of it.

Turning on his epiphany phase to start practicing, with the 100x multiplier and the 6 seconds of energy resonance he got as a reward, he felt the energy in his surroundings flooding into his body at a much greater rate than ever before.

He felt his body being washed with the energy of heaven and earth and soon his cultivation started to take off like a rocket.

2nd Level Qi Condensation

3rd Level Qi Condensation

4th Level Qi Condensation

...

5 hours passed and soon the rain leveled down to a drizzle.

Finishing up his session he got up surprised his body didn't ache after getting up. Perhaps it's because he had entered the Qi level and this energy is constantly nourishing his body.

Looking at his body, he couldn't help but marvel at the sheer power he felt coursing through his veins. It felt like he could crush a mountain with a single finger.

Looking at his panel made him smile like a psychopath.

"System do you have something against me?"

[No why does Host ask?]

"..."

Seeing that there was only a slight drizzle outside, he felt now was a good time to head off. Turning around to see if Yinling was done, coincidentally she opened her eyes and met each other's eyes.

"You ready?" he asked

Nodding, she got up but was a little hesitant to step outside, after almost dying made her feel that the outside world was too dangerous.

A little hesitant she spoke, "I know I didn't mention this earlier but... thank you for saving my life".

Seeing her honest vulnerable side brought a smile to his face, at least she was starting to open up a bit.

"Alright let's go" Walking outside of the cave, he felt the cool refreshing drizzle on his face. It was a little on the colder side but combined with the drizzle opted for an amazing combo.

Waiting for her to lead to way he soon realized something, if his inherited memories serve him well, foundation establishment cultivators should have the ability to fly.

Looking back to ask her if this was true he saw her already in the sky flying away.

"HEY WAIT I CAN'T FLY!!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.

Hearing a scream in the distance she turned around and soon realized the problem. Flying back down slowly, she looked at him with funnily.

In a mocking tone, she asked, "So the mighty Jun is not able to fly huh?"

In her mind, Jun was already labeled as a genius simply by the fact that he was able to exert power beyond his realm unlike her.

Looking at her expression filled with contempt annoyed him a bit but not so much to lash out. "So how are we going to do this, can't you carry me on your back or something"

"Do you expect a lady like myself to carry you?" she retorted.

"Well, do you want to run there? I think it's better if you carry me there"

Laughing a bit she told him "You do realize it's going to take years to arrive at Sky Palace, even if I go at max speed when flying and even take the teleportation arrays set up by the state we are still talking in the year's range"

"huh?"

This wasn't part of the plan, did he hear her correctly? Years?? Other traversers would have already become the overlords of their worlds in the years range but he simply would have only traveled and accomplished nothing.

"Isn't there a faster way to get there"

Thinking a bit she replied "Maybe... but that's only if you work for the state". People who work for the state have access to exclusive teleportation arrays set up to take you directly to Sky Palace. These are used to convey news fast back to Sky Palace if something were to happen but not every state has these since they cost an enormous amount of spiritual stones to use every time.

"Does our state have this teleportation array?" he questioned since he would refuse to travel for that long.

"I'm not too sure but it wouldn't hurt to try"

Agreeing with her he asked, "How far away is this place?"

'it's not much just a month away if we run there"

Slapping his forehead he knew it was too good to be true, at this point it would be better to wait 1 day or 2 so he could break through to the foundation establishment phase that way they could fly there.

Telling her it would be best if they wait a few days so could break through shocked her since last she checked, he was only a level 1 Qi condensation cultivator, not a level 7 one, such speed left her baffled.

Nodding they went back into the cave and cultivated, soon 1 day passed and the cave started to shake a bit.

Right now he was in the middle of breaking through and Yinling decided to keep guard to stop anyone from interfering.

Quickly a loud boom echoed through the cave indicating his success in breaking through the foundation establishment phase.

Eager to try his flying ability he went outside and jumped several dozens of meters into the air and tried using his energy to stabilize in the air. Succeeding, he was ecstatic at finally being able to achieve his dream.

"Haha look at me I'm Superman" he screamed while flying around crazily.

Looking at her companion flying in the air like an idiot made a smile sprout on his face. Although she was a bit annoyed at his antics she was happy to be around someone who didn't have a constipated face all the time.

Flying up to meet him she said "Enough messing around let's get going" and took off.

"HEY WAIT FOR ME!!" he screamed and together they set off breaking the sound barrier in the process.
