Chapter 18: Scheming

Everyone near these dared not utter a word or move, these two right now have the highest cultivation and don't seem to care who gets in their way.

Suddenly the one named Li Yi screamed "Everyone!" grabbing the attention of those close by.

"Help me defeat this bastard and in return, you can get a position in my Li family"

Upon saying these words, a bunch of rogue cultivators or those whose families are of weak status suddenly had a fire growing in their eyes.

You can get a position in the LI family?? For those who don't know, the Li family is one of 4 distinguished families in the famous 8-star city known as Aurora Sky City.

If they can get a position in the Li family, wouldn't their status directly take off?

Suddenly a middle-aged man took a step forward and bowed.

"Young master, it would be an honor to help you in your quest"

Li Yi seeing this laughed "Hahaha I respect your bravery old man, for that, once we are out, you can send your daughter to become a servant in my house"

Hearing this, a bunch of people felt immediate regret, although the position sounds low, it can make even a beggar reach heaven.

Sending a person to become a servant of Li Yi is equivalent to having the backing of an 8-star family and huge amounts of resources.

No one in the future would dare to mess with this middle-aged person's family again unless they want to die.

Quickly after, wave after wave of people started proclaiming themselves as followers of Li Yi.

Yu Cao saw all of this and felt anger but didn't follow in his footsteps. Although tempting, his pride won't let him do this kind of shameless behavior.

While this was going on, Jun felt something was off, turning to Yinling, it didn't seem like she noticed anything so he asked.

"Yinling, Is it me or does something feel off to you?" He questioned.

"Now that you mention... it does seem a bit weird" Although she couldn't exactly point it out, the interaction felt odd, almost as if avoiding something.

For Jun, what struck him as odd was the fact that after getting blasted. this guy didn't scream "Courting Death!" or something along those lines.

Although a bit comical, he should have been angry enough to proclaim that he wants to kill him judging from his character.

Instead of using the word "kill" he said "defeat" which is where he started to notice something.

Now that he thought of it, why didn't this Yu Cao guy strike him directly instead of the mammoth? He could have won instantly and would not have had to deal with both of them.

"To me, it feels like they are avoiding killing each other, but it could simply be their backing is similar in strength" said Jun.

Thinking about it, Yinling responded "Possibly but after this, shouldn't their change in status after winning change this"

Pupils dilating, he realized she was correct, wouldnt their status change directly after this, why should they care?

"I think I can be of assistance here" Came out of nowhere.

Jun and Yinling almost ran but quickly recognized the voice. Seeing Li Chen looking fine with his clothes looking the same when they met confused Yinling but did not surprise Jun.

"Actually, it's not a very guarded secret, it's just people from 5-star cities or middle leveled sects and below don't know"

Raising an eyebrow, Yinling decided to ask "And what would that be?"

Amused at these two pretty little ladies' reaction he responded "Heavens Eternal Order stipulated that for any force be it sect, family or city of level 6 or above should kill any person from another equaled leveled force or above without authorization would be met with unprecedented force"

"Seriously!!" Exclaimed both Jun and Yinling.

Satisfied at their reactions he continued "It was put in place to help the continent rise in population and find talent after the great war that almost wiped out every force on the continent"

"Damn!" Was all Jun could think of, did that mean he would never hear the famous line from a young master, do they realize what they have done??

No wait... he remembered he said only 6-star leveled forces or above would not be allowed to kill each other unless authorized.

"So there's still a possibility" thought Jun.

Yinglin herself felt shocked, she had never heard of such a rule before. It could be because her sect, the Azure Sword Sect is only a low-level middle-sized sect which equates to only a 4-star city.

Wait... how does he know all of this, puzzled she asked "How would you know this?"

"As I stated, it's not a very guarded secret, I've explored many other places so I've heard a thing or two, it's possible because you come from such a weak force if any at all that you haven't heard it"

Hearing his words, both Jun and Yinling didn't like his condescending tone, Yinling about to retort was stopped by Jun secretly tugging her.

Calming down, she trusted Jun's choice so she let it go for now.

Jun on the other hand knew this person's identity, maybe that's why he's out for experience, to shape up his character.

This Li Chen seems to put up a nice front but has an arrogance like no other engraved in his bones.

"Yeah... we're rogue cultivators ourselves so that's possibly why" sarcastically responded Jun.

Focusing back on the battlefield, he saw many cultivators have joined Li Yi's side.

Although he disliked Li Chen's attitude, he couldn't deny his strength and decided sticking with him was their best choice.

On Yu Cao's end, he saw he had grown to a huge disadvantage, at this point he knew if he didn't do something quickly, his chances of becoming part of Sky Palace would be zero.

Looking around, he noticed almost half of everybody still alive had joined this guy's camp.

He was prideful but not stupid so he decided to follow in his footsteps.

"Li Yi you despicable dog, in that case, Anyone who joins me right now will be able to become direct subordinates of my Yu family"

The crowd instantly went wild, who would blame them? Becoming a direct subordinate of the Yu family's Young master is 10 times better than a mere servant.

It's like trying to compare the sun and moon on who shines the brightest, there's no comparison.

Quickly, not even a millisecond after his statement, a beautiful woman who looked to be in her 20s stepped out and bowed.

"It would be my greatest blessing in this life to be able to serve you Young Master Yu" deliberately showing more cleavage while bowing.

Yu Cao seeing this laughed knowing her intention, but why would he get mad? This is exactly what he likes in his women.

Deliberately copying LI Yi he spoke "Hahaha I respect your bravery woman, for that, you can directly become my bed warmer, don't worry I won't treat you badly"

The woman upon hearing this kowtowed directly, profusely thanking him for his grace. She had already been in an arranged marriage with someone she didn't like and despised her partner, but her family was only a 3-star compared to their 5-star.

Now that she has the opportunity to become Young Master Yu's bed warmer who has the backing of the 8-star Yu family, why would she object? Now she can directly cut off her marriage and a simple word from her master's mouth can decide this 5-star family's fate.

Seeing this, many women also felt jealous to the core while others disdained such despicable behavior.

Seeing more and more people now joining his side, Yu Cao looked at Li Yi provocatively, lifting his chin in pride.

Li Yi wanted to kill this shameless bastard but knew if he did, he would be the eternal sinner of his Li family. Taking deep breaths just like his elders taught him, he calmed down and surveyed around to see if anyone was left.

Looking around he soon noticed 3 people far away with two of them wearing cloaks. Upon focusing, his eyes almost popped out of his skull as he laid his eyes on the two heaven-defying beauties who could topple nations.

Quickly moving his eyes towards Yu Cao, he also saw him looking at these two ladies with wide eyes and an open mouth.

Quick to the catch he yelled "HEY YOU OVER THERE! THE TWO BEAUTIFUL WOMAN"

Jun and Yinling soon heard his words and quickly became the center of attention. Having so many people look at them made them feel uncomfortable. 

Jumping off his mammoth and getting closer he spoke "My eyes have deceived me, excuse me for not noticing you two beautiful flowers" 

Yu Cao seeing this quickly arrived at the scene and expressed himself "Forgive me, I feel ashamed for not noticing you earlier"

Jun seeing this knew this would happen, it was his biggest fear to date after turning into a woman. Seeing their eyes awaiting his response, he secretly made a plan within the millisecond.

Opening up his cloak from the front a little revealing his honkers, he bowed "This humble commoner dares not accept your compliment"

"hehe don't worry little lass, join my side, and I'll forgive your transgression of evading my eyes" spoke Yu Cao.

"Beautiful women, you have done me wrong, come and join me, and I'll treat you to riches beyond your imagination hehe"

Putting on a helpless face "I'm sorry but I have to regrettably decline your tempting offer young masters, you see... my family has been forced to make an arranged marriage out of fear of being killed"

Yu Cao and Li Yi hearing this had fire in their eyes, who are they? They are the respectable young master of 8-star leveled forces. Seeing this woman with this beggar behind, they assumed she came from a low-level force.

"Hmp, just tell me their name, and I'll go directly destroy them after this is over, how dare he mess with my woman" spoke Yu Cao domineeringly.

Li Yi hearing this frowned "Hey you Yu Cao bastard, what do you mean your 'women', she is my woman".

Jun seeing this knew his plan had worked, while standing up, he opened his cloak a bit more so they could marble at his hourglass figure in his dress. Just this sight alone would drive countless men crazy which is what he planned to use.

Let them destroy each other or at the very least forget about him for now so they won't make him choose.

Yu Cao seeing this woman's figure captured his attention entirely, this was the most perfect figure he had ever seen in a woman which cemented this idea in his mind. No one, not even this Li Shi is going to get in the way of him ravaging this woman and becoming his.

Li Yi thought along the same lines, turning around he quickly without warning punched Yu Cao.

Yu Cao caught off guard from staring at her figure, felt a fist hit his cheek sending him flying into his camp crushing hundreds along the way.

With this, the start of the final battle started with Jun and his group secretly walking out.
