Chapter 99: Revolt against the Heavens: Battle of the Nine Serenities (4)

The first ones to attack were the Eternal Life Beings in the frontlines; their blood boiled and their killing intent surged to the heavens!

Once they attacked they were merciless. Dazzling lights smashed out like landslides and tsunamis.

On both sides, no one was willing to show any weakness.

This was the first exchange, not counting the battle before the reinforcement arrived, was limited to the Tribulation Immortals and above. This collision was like a brief battle of commanders when two armies faced each other. Although it seemed like just a probing strike, the truth was that it was incredibly significant and related to the morale of both sides!

Whether it was the Nine Serenities or cultivators from the present world, everyone gave their all.

Energy beams wildly shot outwards. Some were deep red like blood, some were as brilliant as suns, and some shined with the divine light of Laws, weaving back and forth like silver pythons formed from lightning.

In this frenzied battle, the Nine Serenities were at the disadvantage. But the demons grit their teeth and persisted. At this time, none of them could weaken their momentum!

The first exchange was already like this. If the battle were to continue, the ending could be imagined!

"Let's fight!"

On the side, all other forces moved to battle!

"This is bad, they are planning to go all-out!" One of the lower ranking cultivators could be heard screaming.

Now, the lower ranking demons gathered their strength in a grand array formation. If they were to attack like this then their strength could be imagined!

In a large-scale battle between cultivators, the effects of battle arrays were remarkable. If they scattered out the attack they could absolutely sweep away the entire battlefield.

The Nine Serenities had already formed an array formation. The only way for the cultivator coalition to deal with them was to also form a battle array and meet them head-on!

But in a situation where the overall strength in the lower numbers of the coalition was far inferior to the Nine Serenities, if their battle arrays were to collide then the coalition were sure to suffer serious casualties!

In this battle, no one held back. Many cultivators of the present world even spat out blood and overdrew their own life potential! Most of these cultivators however were from the Ruism Lineage, that had deep enmity with the Eight Ruler ever since he came into existence.

The other cultivators were more casual, they only wanted to distract the demons long enough for their plot to succeed. After all such a large-scale battle certainly will distract the Heavenly Way and sooner or later he will interfere.

As many cultivators of the present world were ready to risk their lives in this battle, the ground split below them and a grand palace began to rise up into the skies.

"Demon Emperor Palace!?"

"Mm? That is - !?"

Everyone saw glittering Demon God Pillars shimmering atop the Demon Emperor Palace. Could this be the work of... the legendary Demon Emperor Hezhi!?

Many people were inexplicably thrilled at this possibility. After all, who was Demon Emperor Hezhi! He is a legendary figure that fought in the finale of the third Vying for the Heavenly Way, a figure known as the greatest Demon Emperor of all time.

Then, pillars shot out from the top of the Demon Emperor Palace, turning into divine beams of light that shot towards the ground.

"Protect this Demon God Pillar Formation!" At this time, a dignified sound transmission echoed into the ears of the cultivators. They could immediately tell that this was Demon Emperor É's voice.

Immediately the forces of the Limitless Demon Sect gathered around the mysterious Demon God Pillars, protecting them as if they were more precious than their own life.

"Protect His majesty's formation!" The Limitless Demon Sects shouts could be heard.

Meanwhile the other forces were in utter disbelief, not knowing what to say. After all they never expected the Limitless Demon Sect to put any effort into this. There sure has to be some kind of hidden plot, many were convinced.

At this time, no one held back. They poured all of their strength into this grand array. While certainly the other forces were suspicious, they also saw this as a perfect opportunity to make use of.

Hum –

The grand array formed a giant barrier of light that radiated outwards, colliding with the demons' battle array!

The demons' array formation shattered. Dozens of Sage level demons were unable to withstand the impact of energy through their bodies and instantly burst apart into pieces of flesh and bloody mist!

In this horrifying collision, the deaths of sages only took a brief moment.

Suddenly inside the Demon God Pillar Formation a '1%' could be seen. This confused not only the demons but also the cultivators from the present world.

"This array formation is strange... that Demon Emperor could lay down such an array?"

All practitioners muttered, shocked. Although they did not know what this exactly does, it did shock them nonetheless.

"Break through the formation with our battle array!"

The leading demon sages made a decisive change in tactics. They led the Sages to set up their battle array once more and directly attack the Demon God Pillar Formation.

As for why no Tribulation Immortal participated in this battle array, all of them were occupied fighting against the Tribulation Immortals and Eternal Life Beings of the coalition.

Just as they finished setting up the battle array in the middle of the formation the hologram showing '1%' changed to '2%'.

"We cannot let those demons get what they want."

"There are still '98%' remaining. We must persist until the end, otherwise all that we have worked for will end in vain!" said one of the Elder from the Limitless Demon Sect.

This comment once again made both sides curious about what will happen once the number reaches '100%'.
