10 Chapter 10: The First Encounter

June 2, Sunday, was a beautiful day with bright sunshine shining down on the bustling city. As I walked through the busy streets, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. It had already been over ten days since I joined the chat group, 'Time sure flies when you do something interesting, should I slow it down' I thought.

Yesterday, I had my first official meeting with two members of the Nine Provinces (1) Group, Seven and Sixteen. During our discussion, Su Clan's Seven and I delved into the depths of the Dao, exchanging our perspectives and insights. Afterward, I found myself walking through the bustling city streets with no particular destination in mind.

As if by fate, I caught sight of my roommate, Song Shuhang, sitting on a bench in the park. It was a welcome surprise, and I couldn't resist approaching him to say hello. We exchanged pleasantries, and I took a seat beside him.

As we chatted, my mind wandered to the past. 'Wasn't this the very same street where Shuhang first met Soft Feather in the Original?' I couldn't help but marvel at how much my life since I mysteriously reincarnated into this world. Once I was just a clueless mortal, like Shuhang next to me.

'Still, how could it even happen that Dio run over me in the first place, perhaps my old world wasn't as normal as I always thought' contemplating about this issue I began thinking about if I should return to my old world and investigate this issue in particular once I have enough power.

As I was lost in thought, I suddenly noticed a beautiful woman walking down the street. My breath caught in my throat as I gazed upon her, taking in her tall and slender figure. Her long legs were her most distinguished feature, stretching out for what seemed like miles. But her face was equally fascinating; her blue eyes and orange hair were a perfect match for her porcelain skin.

I couldn't help but let my gaze wander downwards, admiring her slender waist and the way her curves flowed perfectly into one another. Her breasts were just the right size for her figure, and I couldn't help but be entranced by the way they moved with her every step.

She was the very embodiment of beauty, envied by the Heavens and capable of toppling entire countries with her mere presence. Her looks alone were enough to make her a natural-born female lead template for movies, but it was more than that. Even if she stood still amongst a crowd of people, she exuded an air of manifest superiority that drew everyone's gaze towards her.

At that moment, I knew without a doubt that she was the one I was destined for. The descriptions in the novel and manhua did her no justice; nothing could compare to meeting the real thing.

Still, unlike other protagonists - Scum Che, I'm looking at you - I can keep my calm in any situation. Even in the face of destiny itself, I can maintain my composure and wait for the right moment to act.

After all, patience is my greatest virtue. As an immortal, time is one thing that I have in abundance. While I may be lacking in many things, time is definitely not one of them.

Despite my desire to take action, I knew that it was best to wait and observe for now. I didn't want to ruin Shuhang's opportunity to officially enter the world of cultivation by meddling in his fateful affairs. Fate is a fickle thing, and I didn't want to risk disrupting the delicate balance that had been set in motion, for such a petty little detail.

This is especially true of the protagonist's halo that hangs over Shuhang. A man with the fate of death shouldn't be disturbed too much.

Besides, Fang Yuan taught us best what happens to those that go against fate. In the end, even the mighty Heaven Refining Demon Venerable couldn't escape his own fate.

As I continued to wait and observe, I couldn't help but chuckle to myself at the thought of that author being banned from releasing any of his fate blaspheming stuff called ´Reverend Insanity´.

'He may have been able to destroy Fate Gu, but that was only part of Heaven's greater plan to get rid of him once and for all by getting the author to release content that showed too much freedom.' I thought.

After wrapping up my thoughts, I accompanied my roommate through the city, as we were talking with each other about all sorts of things.

As we were following each other through the bustling streets, we both received a voice message that we played at the same time, seemingly by coincidence. The voice that came through was enchanting and melodic, it was as if we were listening to the voice of an angel. It was a message from someone named ´Spirit Butterfly Island's´ Soft Feather.

Shuhang's was shocked that I too was one of members of this chat group. The face he makes is like telling me, even without reading his mind, that he's thinking I'm one of those delusional chunnies from the Nine Provinces (1) Group. I couldn't blame him, after all, from a mortal's point of view, after reading all those messages, it wasn't wrong to assume that we are.

But before he could say anything, a voice interrupted us from behind. "Nine Provinces (1) Group? Senior's!" The voice belonged to none other than Soft Feather herself!

As I stood before her, I couldn't help but marvel at her stunning appearance.

Her long hair flowed down her back like a waterfall, the sun catching on its golden strands and causing them to shimmer like gold. Her eyes were like two sparkling sapphires, bright and full of life, and her skin was so smooth and flawless that it looked like porcelain.

Soft Feather's figure was the stuff of legends, with curves in all the right places and a grace in her movements that was both mesmerizing and hypnotic. Her beauty was so radiant that it almost seemed to glow from within, like a beacon, drawing all eyes to her.

Finally, I had the chance to meet her properly! But when she asked for our dao names, I was ready to introduce myself as the one and only Zenith Heaven Emperor.

But alas, fate had other plans for me. Before I could even utter a word, Shuhang blurted out his 'real' name like a clueless mortal he is. He, obviously, was completely oblivious to the importance of dao names. I almost facepalmed at his lack of understanding, but, being the patient and gracious immortal that I am, I decided to go along with it and introduced myself as 'Hei Bei', which loosely translates to 'Black White'.

Then, to my utter disbelief, Shuhang had the audacity to tell Soft Feather to stop calling us "Senior". I mean, seriously, does this guy not even understand the most basic etiquette of the Cultivation world? It's like he didn't even read any of the messages!

I couldn't help but feel annoyed that he was robbing me of the chance to bask in the glory of being addressed as a Senior. I mean, come on, can't I enjoy being in a position of superiority for once? During the era of the Heavenly Court, I found it annoying, but now that I want it, that privilege is taken away from me. Fate, I curse you!

As the conversation continued, I couldn't help but feel annoyed at Shuhang's lack of understanding. Doesn't he know any of the basic rules of the cultivation world? Has he even any message of the Nine Provinces (1) Group?

I sighed and decided to make the best of the situation. Maybe, just maybe, I can teach this clueless mortal a thing or two about proper daoist etiquette. But for now, I'll just have to endure being called by my name instead of being addressed as Senior or my Dao Name. Oh, the hardships of a cultivator being with a mortal!

After our conversation with the beauty, it was clear that she needed help finding her location. As a honorable cultivator, I couldn't ignore someone in need, so I suggested that we assist her in bringing her to her destination, Luo Xin Street Area, or whatever it was called.

To maintain my cover, I decided to let clueless mortal Shuhang take the lead. However, much to my surprise, he led us back to the university dormitory. I couldn't believe it - was he trying to show off the fact that a beauty was accompanying him?

Despite my annoyance, we pressed on and continued to help her. Along the way, I tried to drop subtle hints about the cultivation world, but Shuhang kept ruining the moment with his awkwardness.

Soft Feather then asked for a 'cheap' Spirit Green Tea, and Shuhang couldn't even provide that! I mean, come on! How hard is it to get some tea? I began to question his ability to even take care of himself, let alone someone else.

When I had a look at the three of us, I couldn't help but shake my head in disbelief. Soft Feather, a young genius cultivator, and Shuhang, a clueless mortal, together in a room, and me, the experienced cultivator, watching the scene unfold before me.

As Soft Feather sat down, I couldn't help but wonder if she's really that oblivious or if Shuhang is just that good at deceiving girls. Maybe it's a mix of both? Whatever it is, I don't envy his situation.

I mean, imagine walking next to the strongest immortal and not even realizing it! Soft Feather must really be a special case. But then again, sometimes fate can be a real bitch.

Despite my initial intentions to help Soft Feather find her way to Luo Xin Street Area, I realized that I couldn't bear to watch Shuhang's embarrassing behavior any longer. It was time for me to move on and focus on more important matters.

I had, after all, more important things to do, like having a front-row seat as Venerable Spirit Butterfly 're-educates' a certain Death Seeker while eating popcorn and I certainly didn't want to babysit a mortal who couldn't even take care of himself.
