10 Darkness Play

"Hehehe, I knew you were my favorite believer, Milcar, Milcar, every time I see you, your body seems to shine more", Aqua teases while pretending to be a benevolent and kind goddess.

Eris raises an eyebrow before approaching Milcar.

"Are you sure about this?", Eris asks seriously. Milcar looks into Eris's concerned eyes before smiling slightly.

"Calm down, there's no need to worry, let's just get this done, I still have to cultivate Qi, I mean, we need to do this quickly, you know, to gain some time to Cultivate Qi", Milcar murmurs before starting the slaughter of toads.

Unlike the colorful Kobolds, the toads are no match for Milcar's power. He can easily kill one or two toads at a time, or occasionally leave a toad on the brink of death for his group to finish off.

After a couple of hours, Milcar and his group have already finished killing at least fifty giant toads.

The first level of Qi condensation provides enough power for Milcar to do all this. 

Under a giant tree, Milcar rests, his group also rests, lying on the grass under the shade of the giant tree.

Everyone is tired, while Milcar tries to regain his strength, Aqua approaches and sits beside him.

"Hey, Milcar, this is excellent, I mean, fifty toads, if we sell them, they represent half a million Eris, hehehe, we can buy many things with that money. Well, now, Don't you forget something?", Aqua smiles at Milcar.

Then, Milcar quickly takes out a chocolate candy from his pocket to give it to Aqua. However, Aqua doesn't snatch the candy from Milcar's hands as in some previous cases. Instead, Aqua looks at Milcar with resentment.

"Do you think I'm a goddess who only thinks about candy sweets? You... tsk... I'm a goddess, the goddess of water, if you understand, then... then hug me please..." Aqua lowers her head as a blush appears on her face.

Milcar chuckles softly before pulling Aqua by the waist and holding her in a hug. Milcar grabs Aqua's body and makes her sit on his lap before embracing her against his chest.

"You, you, you... what are you supposed to...", Aqua murmurs with a delicate and almost inaudible voice as she closes her eyes, she simply lets her body relax while leaning her head against Milcar's chest.

From a distance, Eris watches this scene with a somewhat reluctant expression. Even though she hasn't known Milcar for long, Eris is surprised that someone can make Aqua behave in that way.

Isn't Aqua supposed to be a goddess who only thinks about herself and liquor?, Eris doesn't understand; Aqua is behaving like a silly girl.

However, Eris then turns to look at the tired Kazuma, who is already sleeping on the grass before sighing with some resentment in her heart.

Time passes at cruising speed, and several hours have passed.

After the group rests for a few hours, they return to the adventurers' guild so that the guild staff can take care of the toad bodies in the forest.

The mission to hunt toads has been completed, and the group received a reward of half a million Eris plus a bonus of three hundred thousand Eris for the massive hunting of giant toads. It seems that toad meat is a scarce ingredient in the adventurers' guild.

Now, as nightfall approaches, Milcar's group is dining at the adventurers' guild tavern.

"Today I want to toast to Brother Milcar, a true man who has come into our lives only to improve", Kazuma raises a beer mug and looks sympathetically at Milcar.

"Hehehe, though it's a good start, Milcar, remember you still owe me something..." Aqua grins mischievously as she raises a beer mug.

Eris observes the cheerful atmosphere and can't help but smile. "Ahem, well, I mean, it's good that you're here, let's toast to that", Eris scratches her cheek out of an old habit while smiling sincerely.

"By the way, although the reward this time has reached a delicious 800k, you guys will only receive one hundred thousand Eris each...", Milcar's words were like a comet falling to the earth; a slight silence spreads before a smile paints the faces of Kazuma, Aqua, and Eris.

"Well, you're the leader after all, I think you deserve a big part of the reward", Kazuma murmurs calmly before banging the table, "Do you think I would say that?!, Do you take us for fools?!" Kazuma is about to jump on Milcar to hit him, but Eris quickly stops him.

"Kazuma, hehehe, isn't it okay?, It's one hundred thousand Eris...", Eris tries to calm Kazuma down.

But in fact, Kazuma was just trying to sound brave; he didn't actually intend to jump on Milcar. After all, Milcar has enough strength to kill him.

In the face of all this, Aqua eats and drinks as if there's no tomorrow, ignoring the conversation. Occasionally, Aqua lifts her head to look at Milcar, then, Aqua cuts a piece of meat with her knife and with the meat skewered on the fork, Aqua directs the fork to Milcar's mouth.

Looking at all this with a calm face, a blonde girl with a beautiful body and ostentatious clothes walks calmly and tranquilly. This girl is none other than Darkness, who happened to pass by the tavern and saw her good friend Eris sharing a table with a group of people.

Curious, Darkness approached, however, upon seeing who these people are, a slight smile appeared on Darkness's face, the eyes of Darkness shine when she look at Milcar, a smile appears on her face.

Approaching like a lion approaches its prey, Darkness takes several steps forward. Upon seeing Milcar being fed by a beautiful girl with blue hair, a mischievous smile passes over Darkness's face.

She approaches until she is noticed by Milcar's group, then she quickly walks over to Milcar.

"Husband!!!", Darkness shouts before running and stopping near Milcar, she lifts Milcar by the arm before hugging him tightly.

There was a slight silence.

Eris drops her fork onto her plate making a slight sound, Kazuma observes this scene with envy, and Aqua opens her eyes with surprise.

A slight murderous intent passes through Aqua's heart as she coldly observes this seductive blonde woman.

"What the hell?!", Milcar raises his voice as he tries to free himself, however, he quickly realizes that it is impossible for him to break free.

The two masses of Darkness's flesh are pressed against Milcar's chest, a scent of roses enters his nose, and he feels how Darkness's breath warms his body, the defined and seductive body of this blonde makes Milcar swallow slightly.

Surprise fills Milcar's heart at this moment, Milcar tries to free himself using his strength, however. How is it possible that he can't free himself?

This is the first time since he reached the first stage of Qi condensation that Milcar is truly surpassed in strength, not even when he fought against the Red Kobold did he feel the sense of defeat that grows within his heart.

"Darkness!!!" At this moment, Eris is the first to react. She shouts before standing up and grabbing Darkness's right shoulder.

"I, hehehe, sorry, I'm just playing...", Darkness quickly releases Milcar and smiles at Eris, however, seeing that Milcar was released, Aqua pulls Milcar's arm to make him sit back on his chair.

Aqua moves her chair closer to Milcar's while observing Darkness with coldness, Aqua's thoughts are mysterious at this moment.

Smiling nervously and apologizing, Darkness notices Aqua's cold gaze and can't help but feel a slight pang of regret in her heart.
