The Anti-Magician Association

Malcium's side after the conference,

"Get ready our troops by 3 days. We will set off to Entropy then."A dignified voice came from Malcium.

"Understood! JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL! " The remaining bishops set off, leaving one lone man kneeling in front of the pope.

"Do you understand the seriousness of your actions?" Malcium sternly asked the bishop who infuriated the saintess of peace.

"I won't do it again uncle..."He said while shivering. To him, this near-death experience was too traumatizing, especially for someone leeching off his uncle's reputation.

"Very well, follow me, Carol."Malcium walked into the praying halls of the temple. "While I know that you are devoted to the path of justice, you should mind your position. I won't be able to save you next time." Malcium solemnly to his nephew.

"Where are we going?"Carol asked.

"To investigate that high tier magician. The very fact that he destroyed our angel means that he has disrespected our god. I am not planning to let him off easily." Malcium put on a gentle smile while speaking such harsh words.

"Uncle, why didn't you rebuke the saintess words if you are so angry? She is just a woman, after all, you could have finished her if you wanted."He asked curiously.

"Foolish boy, while the saintess of peace looks young, she is far older and much more powerful than me and her position has solidified completely. She even has the full backing of her goddess. Whereas I am just one of the 3 popes in our temple, I could be replaced anytime by my lord if he senses my faith weakening or me failing to conduct justice." Malcium said with a sense of resignation.

"How could that be? You are a tier 15 being too and the 2 other popes can't be compared to you, you are much wiser than them!"Carol said with a surprised tone.

"Idiot if we were selected based on power alone I would have already been the temple of justice sole pope, only behind the Saint of Justice. Our Lord has been dissatisfied with me for a while, the Lord knows that I am unable to be as devoted as those other 2 popes. Though they are idiots, as long as our Lord likes them they were destined to have a higher position than me. This is also why we must not fail the mission." Malcium spoke while revealing his dissatisfaction with his current position.

"Remember this one thing! True justice is not gained by slaughtering all evil, justice comes with saving and helping the weak. Those barbarians(2 popes) always do things without thinking of the consequences! I better stop talking on this subject before my faith wavers." Malcium lectured his nephew.

"Here we are..." Carol spoke as he admired the personal praying hall of his uncle, at the end of the hall was a statue of the god of justice.

"Let us begin the ceremony."He said.

[O great lord of justice, you are the embodiment of justice, lend me your power and in exchange, I would rid evil off this land.]

After this incarnation, there were ripples formed in the air. However, no other phenomenon was seen.

"I was rejected? Impossible, these are the angels of our Lord... unless it is related to that mage. It seems that appropriate actions must be taken. To disrupt a summoning of our god would deeply displease our Lord, go contact that 'person'" Malcium said with a hint of anger in his voice.

"I will go now," Carol said as he felt the seriousness of the situation.

Carol's P.O.V.

The temple of justice has always preached justice and fairness, however, is this really justice? My uncle had served our lord for 60 years already, and yet the lord did not appreciate what my uncle had done. My uncle chased out all the corrupted followers and uphold righteousness in our temple, he was the one who made our temple prosper. He even brought troops into the demon continent to slay them. My uncles' achievements are by no means small in any way. He is willing to make sacrifices for the greater good. He had risked his life to kill many fake gods in his years of service.

The other 2 popes who mindlessly preach about justice, always brought up superficial projects only working in the short-term but harmful in the long term. They have always been trying to increase our military forces when unnecessary. With such a big number of troops, we may collapse from feeding them before we are killed by our enemies.

This year is surely going to be a rough one, I heard that the first ever hero summoning ceremony will be done next month. According to my uncle, the heroes will be summoned from another world and would be extremely powerful. Though he voiced his strong objection to that ceremony, his objection was rejected by the masses.

While thinking about what was going on in the temple, he finally reached his destination. In the slums, there was a tall building standing among the rotten land. He stepped into the mysterious building and walked to the highest floor. Before he walked into the room, a voice came out of it.

"Ah, you must be the nephew of Malcium! Come right in!" An oddly cheerful voice came from inside.

Ah, high tier beings are really scary, being able to sense my presence from far away, he thought in his mind.

Carol entered the room and sat down after greeting the man.

"Welcome to the anti-magician association branch in the holy kingdom. So which mage do you want to kill?" The man said while clapping his fingers together.

"A high tier mage in Entropy, Kingdom of Dusk," Carol said after handing over a scroll.

"Oh a high tier mage in a low tier kingdom, interesting. I wonder if he is there to exploit them hahaha." The man in front laughed, but a hatred of magicians could be seen from his attitude.

"Though we do not have a branch in the Dusk Kingdom, I will personally go there myself and eliminate him." Without a second word, the man walked out of the room leaving Carol behind.

Seems like people don't like mages here. There's a reason for that!
