Leora vs Z'rax

[Start of Volume 3: Welcome to my Empire]

"Let's kill that thing." Dan pointed at those tentacles filled with eyes in the distance.

"Ah, this would be a good warm-up." She took a single step, and the ground shook. A footprint left behind, with crack surrounding it.

She voluntarily took action?! This is indeed unexpected. Is it because that we have three days to get to the 'court'? Still, I was expecting more hesitation. Could it be that she has been feeling the same feelings that I felt towards her when we fused?

Perhaps I have unintentionally set a trap for myself. I was planning to kill her off one day, but at this rate, it isn't possible anymore. Hopefully, things will go well. For a second, Dan's face displayed worry as he looked at Leora's figure rushing towards the Z'rax.

I will watch from there. I don't think I can help much anyways. But just in case, I will get into position. Dan started dashing towards the battleground.

Leora descended from the sky and laughed loudly, "I'm back Z'rax! Come on, dance for me." She smiled sadistically and tore an eyeball into shreds.

"ARGHH, damn it! It's you again the failed old god. What are you here for?"

"Why are you asking such obvious questions? I'm here TO KILL."

"Hpmh, kill me? How can a failed old god kill someone as great as me? I see that you have taken on a mortal form. As expected as a failure." Z'rax mocked.

"Less talk, more action." [Chaos Fist] Leora's arms turned bright red, with mixtures of lightning like cracks. She threw three punches onto the ground, holes, the shape of the fist covered the ground.

"RAAAAA." Roars of anger filled the air.

"Come on, Come out little god. I ain't got all day for you. Bring out your real and ugly body." Leora smirks as she hurled fist after fist onto the ground creating massive shockwaves. With each fist increasing in magnitude, the shockwaves gets bigger and bigger.

The ground shakes so violently that the walls surrounding the Empire of Dawn collapse like paper. Thousands, no, millions of lives were lost just from this single exchange. But both Leora and Dan paid no heed to the destruction.

"How long can you endure? Don't tell me?! You're afraid?!" Leora taunted. Surges of chaotic mana poured into the ground, threatening to boil the partially awakened old god alive.

"Afraid? You got guts!"

"Oh finally revealing your ugly body?" She momentarily stopped her relentless assault. The ground shook much more violently. The sun on the horizon was blocked entirely. A looming shadow covered the entire empire. The mountain liked figure stood there confidently, unafraid and overpoweringly.

A thousand eyes opened up, its dark red pupil shone brightly in the empire, devoid of sunlight. Several more opened up in the 'night' sky. The air was silent. Neither Leora nor Z'rax made any sound.

They could finally hear the sounds of the mortal grieving. The sounds of babies crying filled the air, the bards in the taverns told stories of the end of the world. Adults hugged their loved ones for comfort. Many questions were asked. Where has the sun gone? What is that monster? Where are the gods? All these questions differ, but all come into a common one. Is the world ending?

Dan stared at the empire of Dawn. All of its citizens in each and every one of the cities, all of them were afraid, crying and screaming in fear. His face devoid of emotions, he reached his hand onto the ground. And grabbed a handful of dirt. He blew, and all of the dirt in his hand vanished into the air.

So just like that, all these millions of lives will be gone. All I feel is... nothing? No disgust nor any form of regret. Why is this so?

Leora saw Dan's expression and doubtfully questioned telepathically. [What? Don't tell me that you want to save them all?]

[Let them die.]

[Interesting, where is that shred of humanity? No regrets?] She seized Dan in amusement, with the corner of her lips curved up.

[You sure that you can kill that thing?] Dan changed the subject.

[Easy. Just don't interfere, I can feel the chaotic mana in me grow stronger. Is it because of those mortal? Do I fight stronger in a chaotic environment?] She shrugged her shoulders and focused on the being in front of her.

Funny, the lied I told my servants is actually coming true, at this rate she will be Chaos while I will be Order.

Strange, why do I feel that she is trying to prove herself to me? Is this an illusion? Little did Dan know that Leora shared the same sentiment. She was confused about why she had so willingly volunteered to fight.

Power surge into her mortal form as she stood there silently, but she exceeds an overbearing aura of ferociousness.

"So you are planning to fight my real body in that diminutive form of yours. Oh wait, you cannot transform. You already lost your origin. The Guardian. I wonder if you left it with your best friend." Z'rax said in a surprised tone, obviously laughing at Leora's misfortune. "Oh, what happened to your confident demeanour? Afraid? Scared? If you want to run now is the time."

"HAHAHA, since you want to see me transform so much I will show you." Out of a sudden, she showed a shocked expression. I can't transform? Why? With a new origin I should be able to do so, something is blocking me. The source of blocking comes from the other me, Dan? This isn't good.

"Oh? What's wrong? Were you dreaming? You actually thought that you could transform without an origin. You're delusional." It roared out in laughter.

Dan felt a sharp tug force from inside. This is... trying to go towards Leora? It seems that something isn't going as what she had expected. Is it related to this? He breathes out a breath of air, releasing whatever that he had felt. A tiny string came out of his mouth and flew into Leora. What was that?

Its here?! She looked at Dan for a second before unleashing her true form. Immediately, Z'rax felt that something was wrong and thus struck with a red beam coming from one of his many eyes.

Sh*t, I can't dodge this... The transformation won't make it in time. If I receive that in this state I will perish... She powerlessly looked at the incoming beam. A serious miscalculation...

Tsk that idiot, if she dies, I will die too. [The Scales Are Balanced. Bring Order And Fairness.] A scale appeared in front of Leora, momentarily before vanishing.

Its useless, Dan... you cannot stop that at your current power level. But thank you for trying, she smiled solemnly. I ACTUALLY THANKED HIM?! Her solemn look abruptly evolved into puzzlement, ignoring her impending end.

The beam struck her and mist filled the air, the ground was red hot. Leora could be seen standing still in the middle of the red circle. I'm alive?! How? The beam shouldn't be this weak, Z'rax was giving his all, but I only took halved damage... Z'rax's vision instinct is indeed powerful.

Half? The symbol of a scale suddenly flashed in her head. Could it be that? If he took half the damage then how could he still be alive? She worriedly turned around and look behind. Dan spurted out blood and collapsed onto the ground. Ah I see, he actually further spilt the damage he was going to take into the mortals. Connecting himself into the single hundred thousand humans closest to him. On that day, a hundred thousand humans of Empire of Dawn turned into pools of blood. In this few seconds, he actually made 100 000 connections...

HAHAHA, it's my turn to finish the job. She faced the Z'rax and saw a second beam charging up. The air circulated around Leora, but her hair remained still. She stayed motionless, without any intention of dodging. The second red beam finally struck, and Leora took it entirely. Again, mist and debris filled the air.

She isn't dead? My vision instinct told me that I should kill her, those two beams took most of my energy. Soon the mist finally dissipated after and Z'rax reeled in in terror. She actually transformed.

What's that? Its so tiny, and my vision instincts warn me that I should retreat. Z'rax prepared to pull back away but remembered that the omnigod would clear this area soon. It's a shame that I have to return to the Ancient plane before awakening... this would be a dangerous journey. Just as he was about to entirely pull back, a voice came from the mist.

"Oh, where do you think that you are going? We're not done here." It was Leora again, her 3 new eyes were on her forehead. And her skins were filled with crack, the colour, a combination of dark red and black, with tons of cracks. Large and long corroded chains seem to replace those tentacles that she had before. Her fingers turned long and sharp. She was taller now, about 3 metres tall.

So this is my new form, she admired herself, and the sealed southern side of the human continent reverberated in her laughter until a telepathic message hit her.

[Damn it Leora, didn't you say that you can win easily? What the hell was that? And you are too full of yourself, just by looking at how much energy you are leaking right now, I don't think you can win this alone.] Dan sounded angry.

[Erm... hahaha, this is embarrassing, I still cannot control the chaos energy completely. If I could, I can win alone... You mind helping out?] She asked in guilt and embarrassment.

[Alright let's do this.] Dan agreed without hesitation.

[But you might die if you get hit.]

[Who said that I am going to fight directly?]

[Ah I see, you are planning to do that... Just don't get hurt alright...] She sounded timid behind. Leora thought, why am I so worried? It is definitely something else... What is this emotion? It's love?! No, it can't be, Leora hurriedly turned her thoughts away.

[F-fine.] I didn't save just because I didn't want to die, I saved her because I have fallen for her... I'm really helpless, he shook his head. She too is feeling the same thing but is denying it. I can't believe it hahaha, we actually fell for the same trap.

*******

Vision instinct- Z'rax's known ability. It allows the user to know if he/she is in the advantage after an action is about to take place within the user's vision.

Looks like there is some change in planning, the fight will end in the next chapter and the apostle part will appear in the next chapter.
