Allysium's Decision

Allysium's P.O.V.

His warnings and advice were stated on the piece of letter, while I was disappointed that he was unwilling to aid us on the fight for the throne, I can't help but be excited about the promised angel. I have heard tales about the Angels of Observations. They were commonly used in tier 3 kingdoms or used to be the eyes and ears of gods.

The moment I had finished reading the letter, the letter disintegrated into specks of dusk. The dust combined together to form an angel. The angel's wings covered its body at first, then it expanded them revealing its entire body to my bare eyes. Amazing... I have never seen such a beautiful being before, especially not a divine one. It noticed my presence and gaze at me with a pure look, "Greetings mere mortal, I am the angel of observation that is assigned to you by the great lord of chaos and order. Please use me whenever you need my power."

It replied with respect, wow, angels are truly pure and angelic beings, even if you are much weaker than them, they still treat you with much respect. I called Britinia over and told her about the letter that Dan had sent us. It was filled with vague advice on how I should proceed from here onwards. She too was a little surprised on the content of the letter but quickly calmed down.

"Britinia should I really fight for the throne?" I was hesitant about the idea of fighting against my blood-related brothers. While I have heard stories about how royal siblings fought over the throne after the current ruler had died, I still do not wish to kill my brothers. After all, didn't we come from the same father... if only we can reconcile and rule together...

Britinia saw my hesitant expression and shook her head solemnly, she seems to know what I was thinking about, "Princess, if we want to stay in the kingdom of Dusk we will need to fight. Your brothers don't think highly of you and would surely imprison you or kill you... Forgive me for being disrespectful but I highly recommend you to run away from the kingdom of Dusk..." She looked very worried about my condition and even suggest to me that I should leave this country.

"Britinia... if I leave who would take care of the commoners... and the greedy nobles will only ruin this great country that father had built. And for my brothers... though they are not really competent, do we really have to fight?" I was deep in my thoughts, thinking about ways to stop my brothers from being manipulated by the nobles. I have heard from father when he was still alive that my brothers were played around be those nobles.

"Princess Allysium... we..." She sighs and could not find the correct words to comfort me.

I couldn't let give up on the commoners and this kingdom that my father had built, I have made up my mind after another few hours discussing with Britinia. Though she had constantly adviced me to run, I could not bring myself to forsake this kingdom. I have made up my mind, I want to be just like my father, Armaguous III Vers Ellusia and continue his legacy. I will stop and save my brother from the evil plot of those nobles.

"Britinia, you can stop trying to convince me to stop now. I have made up my mind to save the Kingdom of Dusk." I firmly stated my conclusion, allowing no one else to question my decision. "Gather the knights and soldiers in the castle and in Entropy," I ordered Britinia to do my bidding, I hope that there would not be many casualties in this battle. Though I could tell that she was hesitating to convey my orders, she still left in the end and carried out my orders.

I knew that she was worried about this decision as I do not have much combat or political experience in this field, but I do not have the choice. I will fulfil the conditions of that mage and become the Queen of Dusk for the sake of the commoners.

"Angel of Observation," I called out to the empty air.

"At your service." The angel showed itself after turning invisible for the duration of my conversation with Britinia.

"Show me what's my brothers have been doing." I requested respectfully.

"Understood!" 3 screens appeared showing each of my brothers' action. Out of three of them, only 2 had gathered their army. The first prince has about 10,000 soldiers right now at the capital, giving a speech to the nobles who were present, with his mother the second queen who was smiling brightly. The royal castle was currently under his control. (Recap: The king had 2 wives, Allysium's mother died and was replaced with a second queen who gave birth to the first second and third prince. The records stated that the second queen managed to give birth to 2 boys before the first queen gave birth to Allysium.)

On the other hand, the second prince was imprisoned in the dungeon under the royal castle. It seems that there is a public execution planned for him in a few days time to establish the authority of the first prince.

The third prince, Slaine was back at his mansion, he seems to be gathering troops too. 12,000 troops stood outside the city of Latium. The fat prince and the 5 other shady men shook hands and toast for his successful manoeuvre in gathering more troops than the first prince. He also managed to sabotage the second prince and make him fall into the trap of the first prince. Slaine then approached the remaining troops loyal to the second prince and forced them to obey his orders. Slaine complained about the 3rd most dangerous party the nobles' army.

From this short look at how her rivals for the throne were doing, she could already feel the pressure of the race for time. Her brothers were already far ahead of her with the exception of the second prince, who was captured.

"Britinia! Call in the royal adviser!" I shouted out loud.

Soon after a few minutes, an old man with white hair walked into my room. His forehead was filled with wrinkles and an aura of wisdom radiated from him. He spoke in a deep and heavy tone, "Your royal highness, how may I serve you?"

When he had entered the room, he had shown little respect to me only slightly bowing and staring straight into my eyes. I felt that he was giving me a look of contempt but I quickly brushed that idea off. I believe that my father's adviser wouldn't treat me with such disrespect.

I asked him with slight urgency, "Is there any way for me to ascend the throne?"

When he heard this he frowned slightly, then his eyebrows raised expressing his shock momentarily. Then again he spoke, "Princess, you shouldn't be thinking about ascending the throne. How about waiting for one of your brothers to take over the throne before taking action. This way, you wouldn't need to take any action. After all, I believe that your brothers do care deeply for you."

"Oh? So you are saying that I should leave them to their own antics?" I was unhappy with his suggestion, after all, he is expecting me to give up the throne?

He sensed my slight anger and quickly reassured, "No no no, of course, you shouldn't just stay still and give way to your brothers. I think I will need some time to think of a viable plan... please excuse me, your royal highness." I saw droplets of sweats forming on his forehead. Ah, he is probably feeling stress out about the current situation too. He excused himself and left quickly.

Shortly after the royal adviser left, Britinia came into the room, "Princess Allysium, the knights are ready. Are there any orders?"

I slightly frown and stayed silent with my hands clenched. "Take me to them, I will give my orders," I said authoritatively. Be ruthless? ha... I was reminded of Dan's warnings. I do not think that I can fulfil all of his expectations but I will do my all...

Britinia lead me to the balcony of the castle, with every step I took I was reminded of the possible consequences of my actions. Cold sweats formed on my back, I was afraid to do this, but I knew that I had to if I want to save this kingdom...

At the balcony stands the princess of Dusk, she stood there coldly and the troops went silent. A few thousand troops were standing outside the castle.

She cleared her throat and spoke loudly and with dignity," I am the First and only princess of Dusk. I hereby declare that I am the sole ruler of the kingdom taking over my father's duty. Any oppositions will be dealt with severely!"

Britinia stood there with widened mouth she spoke to Allysium softly, " Princess this wasn't part of the plan..."

Allysium smiled and took out a royal symbol from her pocket, the symbol that represents the ruler of the Kingdom of Dusk. Before any of the troop make a sound, loud sounds of horns blew across the kingdom, the royal guards were here. They knelt down outside the castle. The royal guards were only loyal to those who hold that particular symbol, a golden crescent moon.

The troops in the castle felt confident the moment they saw the royal guards outside the gate. They did not expect that the princess was actually capable enough to command the royal guards. Cries of cheers rang throughout Entropy, followed by the shocked nobles in Entropy. What the hell is the princess doing? And how did she get that symbol...?

Let the civil war begin...

Oh dear, if your adviser looks at you with scorn you are in big trouble... unless you have BDSM preference.

Next chapter will be on the hero summoning part of the story.
