Wei Anning felt two burning gazes stick to her body, she opened her eyes, turned her head, and fell unguarded into the man's fiery gaze. Her heart softened, she hastily withdrew her gaze and continued to flip through the original texts as if nothing had happened.

But the words in front of her disintegrated into letters, chaotically drilling into her line of sight, yet not a single one entered her brain. All she could think about were the man's dark and anomalously hot phoenix eyes.

She suddenly felt as if the air around her weren't flowing properly, feeling suffocated, short of breath, and panicky—especially because of those two gazes sticking to her body, as if they were about to burn a large hole through her.

Unable to concentrate, she simply closed the book, returned it to the shelf, and moved to the other side to avoid his overly direct stare.
