1 Awake

Nari's POV

I remember it like it was yesterday. The cool crisp air, the falling snow. We were so young. So blind to all the dangers of that snowy day.

* Flashback*

"Waahhh!! Its so pretty out here!"

"Its so much snow! How are we supposed to put our ears to the tracks to hear the trains if they are all covered up?"

"Just brush off the snow silly!"

Taehyung walks close the the train tracks and bends down. He pushes the snow off of a spot on one of the rails. He bends over and puts his ear to the tracks.

"I can't here anything!!"

"Huh? Let me listen. Maybe your just deaf in one ear!"

"Hey!!"

I walk over and bend next to Taehyung putting one of my ears to the tracks.

"Oh no!! I dont think any trains will come!!"

"Why not?"

"I'm not sure Tae.."

"Maybe its too snowy."

I get up and sadly walk over to the ledge of the concrete floor of the train station.

"What's wrong Nari?"

"I really wanted to see a train!"

"Huh? Don't cry! Its okay, I'll be your train!"

Taehyung walks over to the tracks and stands in the center of the tracks. He starts to wave his hands and make train noises, trying his best to cheer you up. I laugh at his silliness, falling over on the ground.

"your so funny Taehyung!!

He stops to look at you

"Are you feeling better Nari?"

"Yes, much better!"

"Yay!"

"Waaah! Nari look what else I can do!"

Taehyung starts to make silly faces , jumping and dancing on the tracks. I continue to laugh but suddenly stop when I hear a loud horn.

"Tae did you here that?"

"Huh? No, it was probably just you."

"No I think something is coming."

"Nothings coming Nari. Its too snowy outside."

Taehyung goes back to dancing and jumping, completely ignoring my warnings. I look to my right to see a large object form on the tracks.

"Taehyung I think its a train. You should get off the tracks!"

"Oh, oh, Nari wanna hear my pingu impressions! Okay, here's pingu."

"Tae!! A train is coming!! Get off the tracks!"

I yell with all my might but he doesn't move. The train horn blares again and Taehyung finally stops to see a huge train approaching him. He stands there completely frozen and terrified.

"Tae!!"

I try to push him off the tracks but only push him halfway. I fall on the tracks, my upper half on the ledge and my legs on the tracks.

"Nari are you okay?!"

"Tae get off the tracks!"

"You have to get off too Nari!"

"I can't I'm caught on the rails!"

"Don't worry I will come and help"

It was too late. He was half way there when the train passed by, running over both me and Taehyung.

"Taehyung!!"

*End of flashback*

He was so innocent. He shouldn't have helped me. He should have gotten off the tracks. He shouldn't have died. I still remember every feature about him like it was yesterday. His tan skin, his big brown eyes, his long eyelashes, his light brown hair ,his small round jaw and his silly box smile. He was such a daydreamer. If he had gotten the chance he could change the work with his hands behind his back. As I sat on my bed I looked out my window. It was winter and snowflakes were starting to fall. I watched the snowflakes fall remembering what Taehyung used to call them.

"Tae!! Tae!! Look its snowing!"

Taehyung runs over and jumps up on the other half of the chair that I was standing on to look at the snowflakes.

"Waaahh!! Its so pretty"

"Its so white and clear at the same time!"

"It kinda looks like crystals... I know what it is Nari!"

"What is it?"

"Its crystal snow!"

*End of flashback*

As I continue to zone out, a tear rolls down my cheek. I miss him. I really miss him. I remember everything about him like this whole accident wasn't so many years ago. People have their hands wrapped around my neck for still not being over his death. They say I'm being dramatic, But is it really my fault? When me and Taehyung were little we were inseparable. We didn't start out that way but our parents pushed us together and we became like family. So, can you really blame me? I finally pull myself back to reality and wipe the tear off my cheek. I let out a long overdue sigh.

"Wake up Kim Sirina Nari. He's gone."

I start to get up, moving my titanium legs off the bed. I stand up and turn the knobs on the side of my knees, adjusting my legs so that I'll stay stable. Taehyung wasn't the only thing I lost that day. I also lost both of my legs.
