Chapter 19
As the party got closer to the Ring, Crystal got more anxious. This was it, the final battle.
Cal gulped and got his wrist watch ready.
Breeze flew up into the air and got ready to fight.
"Cal?" Crystal nudged Cal. "You ready."
Cal nodded. "Hey, Governess, come out and fight!"
Crystal saw somebody run out from the door.
She looked rather familiar.
"Icy!" Crystal gasped.
Breeze was so shocked she almost fell.
Ash was so enraged he fired a ball of fire towards her. "How are you still alive!"
Icy took the fireball and threw it back towards Ash.
Ash gasped and was thrown backwards.
"Icy, I thought we were friends!" Crystal screamed.
Cal charged towards Icy.
Icy made two icicles appear in his hands.
Cal's suit materialized around Cal's body.
Icy used her icicles as swords.
Cal's katanas sliced them in half with ease.
"What!" Icy gasped.
"Hey sweetheart, Ice and heat are never a good match." Cal said under his mask.
"Who are you?" Icy asked.
"That's none of your business." Cal took his sword and thrusted it into Icy's leg.
Icy took an icicle and stabbed Cal in the chest.
"Oh crap, that hurt." Cal groaned.
Crystal threw a giant boulder at Icy.
Icy rolled aside bringing Cal with her.
Cal took Icy's hand and brought it up to his chest. A blue light erupted from Cal's chest.
Icy was gone.
"Cal?" Breeze flew down to him.
"God, I didn't realize my suit was so weak against the cold." Cal groaned.
"Breeze, stay here and help Cal get home, Ash, Bliss, you're with me." Crystal instructed.
The three of them rushed into the ring where the Governess and Nathen both stood, ready to destroy them.
"Ash, Bliss you take on Nathen, I've got the Governess."
Bliss fired a purple spike at Nathen.
"Alright then." Crystal whipped out her wand. "Time to end this once and for all."
She circled the Governess as the Governess tried to run out. You are not going anywhere." Crystal said.
"Actually, I don't plan to." The Governess made the earth rumble.
A piece of earth pushed Crystal up into the air.
Crystal placed her hand on her eyepatch. "Give me strength." She prayed. Crystal opened her eyes to find seven ghosts appearing in front of her.
"Crystal, daughter of Topaz, you are worthy of the seven elements, we have chosen you to become the next leader of all mages." One of the ghosts said.
"You will be known as, the mage of the realms and you will become immortal." Another ghost said.
"But why me?" Crystal asked.
"You fought for what you believed in, you never stopped even when your peers told you it was useless. That determination is why we've chosen you."
Crystal nodded.
The ghosts disappeared and Crystal appeared with a staff and a brown robe.
The Governess gasped. "No, it can't be."
"You have defied the mage of the realms, you must be punished for your actions." Crystal said.
The Governess ran for the door.
Crystal clapped and the Governess disintegrated to dust.
Nathen gasped.
A katana flew through Nathen's chest and he fell to the floor dead.
Cal and Breeze looked up.
"Oh Hell yeah"
"Hey Cal, there are twelve year olds here." Breeze said.
"They can handle it." Cal said.
"Um, no they can't." Breeze said to Bliss who was hyperventilating.
Crystal laughed. And flew down.
"Well done Crystal, we did it!" Ash said patting Crystal on the back.
"Yeah we did it." Crystal smiled.
"Um, there is still one problem." Cal said.
"What's that?" Crystal asked.
"I need to go home guys."
"Don't worry, we'll get you home." Breeze said.
Cal laughed. "You know, you guys are a great team, you should make a council or something."
"That's a great idea." Crystal said.
"But what would we call ourselves?" Ash asked.
"And shouldn't we have a representative from every realm?" Bliss asked.
"Yes Bliss, and Ash, I was thinking of The Council of the Realms."
Ash gave a thumbs up.
"Hey Cal, thanks for all your help."
"No problem Crystal."
"We owe you big time." Crystal said.
"There's no need." Cal said.
The group embraced each other one last time.
Little did Crystal know, that would not be the last time she would see Cal.
Cal would come back to ask for her help, but this time for an even bigger threat.
A threat that would threaten Cal's entire universe and Crystal would have to be ready.
