CHAPTER 6

Leah walked into the mansion after sitting in the car for about ten minutes telling herself that she was not wrong for the way that she spoke to Alexander and the things that she said to him. He needed someone to tell him that, he just needed to stop acting like he owned the world, but Leah also thought about what he had said, that people acted like they knew him when they didn't, they acted like they understood when they didn't. Leah felt like there was more to it than what he said, but she was yet to confirm that.

She walked into the living room where she found Alexander sitting on the couch and watching TV. He looked fine to her, so she went aat down on the couch, but not next to him because she was sure that he was still angry at him because he didn't look like a man who would calm down and forgive someone in just a few minutes, to her he looked like someone who needed months to forget and forgive.

He was just flipping through the channels, there seemed to be nothing that he liked on TV at the moment. Leah wanted to say something but she stopped herself because she was afraid of making things worse than they already are. She just sat down quietly and Alexander didn't seem to want to pay attention to her, she was lucky that he did not tell her to get out of the living room.

After about twenty minutes of sitting there in complete silence Drew walked in and he said "dinner is ready."Leah was the first ine to get up from the couch, she didn't think that she was going to take anymore of the silence. She felt like she was going to die from it all. Alexander stood up too and they both made their way to the dining room, but not side by side because that was not something that was ever going to happen, not in a million years, well at least that was what Alexander thought.

They both sat down across from each other and the maids served them their food. Today the chef had made tender shrimp baked in garlic butter sauce, and Leah hated shrimps. Not because she was allergic to it but because she just didn't like it. "Uhm, I am sorry but I don't like shrimps. Is there anything else that I can eat?"She asked.

"Eat what's given to you, not what you like, got it?"Alexander said. "You eat what I eat, I don't care whether you like it or not."He said. "Serene go."He said looking at one of the maids that had served them food.

"But I don't like this."Leah said, but Alexander didn't care at all.

"Then you can just skip dinner and go to bed or go and do whatever, I don't care. This is not your house, so you eat what 's cooked and you don't get to choose."He said.

"But that's not fair. Do I get to cook my own food then?"She asked. Alexander stopped eating and he looked at her, he wanted to laugh but he stopped himself, he didn't believe that a girl like her could cook. She grew up in a rich family and her dad used to spoil her a lot, so he just didn't think that she could cook.

"Can you?"He asked.

"I can learn, it can't be that hard, can it?"She asked. She had never cooked anything in her life before, but she was more than willing to learn how to do it.

"Really? Alright then, from tomorrow you'll be the one making breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you fail you'll have to eat what the chef makes and you are not allowed to complain, even if you are allergic to it."He said.

"Aren't you going to give me time to learn?"She asked.

"You can learn tonight after dinner if you want but I want the perfect breakfast tomorrow, don't fail."He said and then he went back to eating his food quietly.

Leah was hoping that he would tell her that she was going to make her own food, she was not expecting him to tell her that she was going to make food for him too. "And what about the chef? What's gonna happen to him?"She asked.

"He's going to lose his job since you'll be taking over the kitchen but if you fail then he is going to come back."He said.

"What? That's not fair. If this makes him lose his job then I better not do it."She said.

"I guess then you'll have to eat what's cooked for you."He said. This was hard for her, she wanted to eat the food that she wanted but she did not want the chef to lose his job because of her.

"Am I allowed to order food online?"She asked.

"You can order it and eat it outside my house, not in my house."He said.

"Why?"She asked.

"Take outs are not allowed here."He said.

"Why not?"She asked.

"Because I said so, no more questions. Eat your food quietly if you don't want to eat it then go to your room and stop annoying me with your useless questions."He said harshly.

"Can I not have a conversation with you talking to me like that?"She asked.

"Leah Jones, shut the fuck up!"He said raising his voice.

"It's Leah Copeland, or Mrs Copeland, or maybe babe if you prefer it that way."She said with a smile on her face, more like a smirk. She knew that he did not like that but it was fine by her.

"You don't deserve to have my last name. So in my house you are still Leah Jones. We are only married to the world but to me we are not because I never even wanted this."He said.

"To you we are not married but if I remember correctly we got married on the 21st of June this year, we exchanged rings, we said our vows and my most favourite part, we kissed, actually you kissed me. Oh my God it was such a sweet, warm and beautiful kiss. By the way that was my first kiss."She said. Alexander didn't waste any time. He just took his glass of cold water and threw it at Leah but she used her hand to cover her face so the glass hurt her hand.

"Ouch!"She cried out looking at her hand that had a small cut from being hit by the glass.

"Listen Leah, I have very limited patience. If you keep acting like this next time I won't be throwing a glass at you, I'll be blowing your brains with my gun, did I make myself clear?"He asked. The look in his eyes and his tone made Leah trembled in fear. She didn't think that he was going to do that, she knew that he was heartless but not heartless enough to do this to his own wife. What if the glass had hit her face if she was not able to cover it with her hand on time?

Leah now knew that he was nothing but a heartless beast, he had no heart, he didn't care about anything or anyone at all. He only cared about himself and what he thinks is right.
