1 THE BOY WITH THE BROKEN PENDANT

It was midnight of 29th November 2007, and there was very loud noise from a room of the castle. Thomas and Jasmine Wilson lived in that room with their child Alexander Wilson. Alexander had his 1st birthday begun at that particular midnight. Thomas and Jasmine were at the corridor of the castle, doing a very important work. As soon as they come to know that there child can be attacked, they ran towards their room.

As there was no voice from the room of Wilsons they were sure that if there was something which was attacking Alexander, he would have been dead. They opened the door and the first thing Wilsons saw was a man facing towards Alexander and he had a wand in his hand. Thomas shouted, "Lord Xavier?" The man who was named Xavier turned towards Thomas and exclaimed, "Oh! Thomas...." After that Xavier teleported.

Thomas saw that Alexander was sitting in front of the bed. But there were 5 people standing in front of Alexander with wands in there hand. All of them were wearing black clothes and had covered their faces with black mask. No one can identify who they were. Thomas knew that Xavier had surely come here to kill Alexander. Fortunately, there were these people who saved Alexander's life. Thomas moved towards them but the main leader of them commanded, "Wait Thomas." Thomas stood there. The man with black mask told, "This time we have saved Alexander but it will not be possible to save his life every time. This is not a safe place and especially not after the thing happened on 28th of this month. You shall move towards a safe place. And it will be brilliant if you will move tonight."

Thomas looked at Jasmine. He said, "Nor do we want to live here though we are here from 10 years. We never wanted to come here or live here. We were forced to but we do not have another place to live. Where will we go and also Xavier has a track on each corner of the Dark World. He can simply attack us and put us in the jail." That man said, "Yeah I know that you do not have a living in this world but you can move to the Magical World. I am sure you all can manage to go there. I would prefer to move there tonight. Especially take care of Alexander." Jasmine asked, "But who are you all? And what happened here." She looked at the dirty room where everything was thrown from its original place and so many things were broken and spilt at the floor.

The leader of those 5 people told, "Xavier was going to kill Alexander. We came to know about it and so we came here at the right time. We fought against him, and the moment you both opened the door of the room he was sure that you both can fight against him and he will not be able to fight all 7 of us together and he ran away. These destructions happened during the fight." Thomas told, "Jasmine I think we shall move from here as soon as possible. Better to move from here than to get killed by Xavier." Jasmine was tensed and asked, "But don't you think it's very risky? No supporter of Dark Magic who is living in this castle till date is able to cross the castle without the ruler's permission. I am sure you are not thinking of asking Xavier to grant you permission for moving from here."

Alexander was confused as he has to take a decision. And a wrong decision can ruin his and his family's lives. The man with the black mask suggested, "Thomas you are wise enough to take a decision and also that powerful to achieve it. Dying here will be worse. And if Xavier tries to lock you in his prison then it will be worst. I hope you know what you shall do?" Thomas told, "Yeah I will move towards the Magical World and I hope we will be able to reach there." Jasmine interrupted, "But there is still a big risk. No supporter of Dark Magic who is living in this castle has ever crossed the castle without the ruler's permission. How will we be able to cross the castle?" Thomas answered, "Being killed by doing nothing will be a characteristic of a coward. Being killed on the battlefield will be much better."

The man with the black mask told, "I think it will be better if we will move now." Jasmine asked, "How are you all going to move from the castle and where you are all going? Aren't you all coming with us?" The man replied, "No. It will be dangerous for all of us. Now we are leaving." Thomas interrupted, "Wait." He added, "Are you all the supporters of Dark Magic as well?" That man started laughing. Then he said, "No one can be sure about that." Thomas said politely, "Well it's clear that you are not living in this castle. If you are then you would not be able to get out of here." The man replied, "Of course we are not living in this castle." After this they all teleported.

Jasmine asked, "Thomas are you sure we will be able to get out of the castle?" Before Thomas can say anything they heard a voice from outside the room. Thomas ran to check if there was a supporter of Dark Magic who is keeping an eye on the plans Wilsons are making and going to report it to Xavier. Thomas opened the door but there was no one who was listening there conversation. Thomas closed the door and went inside again. Thomas said, "Jasmine it will not be that easy to move from here. Crossing the castle will be the most difficult part. But I have a plan. We shall go at the entrance of the castle and try to convince the guards that they shall come with us to the Magical Universe which can help us."

Jasmine asked again, "Do you really think that they will come with us to the Magical World. There is no chance. Xavier will only keep the guards at the entrance who will never betray him. What will we do at that situation?" Thomas replied, "For that I have another plan. We will simply disarm them but we have to be very quick for that. This will give us much more time. As they will not have their wands with them we can move out of the castle." Jasmine told, "Do you think only you are smart enough and Xavier cannot use his brilliance? He will surely have many such tricks. He can fool us and if also he cannot the guards can call Xavier for help and he will surely capture us that time we will have to need a strong army." Thomas exhaled sharply and told, "Jasmine we will be using our brooms to get to the Magical World. Though it is very difficult to complete this task but I still think it will be better if we will try."

Wilsons came to the conclusion that they will have to go to the Magical World tonight. Thomas said, "I think 2:30 in the night will be the best time to move from the castle. No one will be awake at that time except the guards. Start packing the bags." Wilsons never thought that they will be celebrating their child's 1st birthday in such manner. They all were so tensed.

While Jasmine was busy packing the bags she saw that Alexander was having a locket in his neck. But he never had a locket on his neck before. Jasmine was a bit scared, so she told this to Thomas. Thomas was as well confused. The most dangerous thing was Xavier has already visited the room that same day. It could also be a locket of Dark Magic. Jasmine asked, "Thomas have you ever seen such a locket anywhere?" Thomas replied, "No I don't think so have you ever seen such lockets?" Jasmine replied, "No. Surely it was not with Alexander till the time we went to the corridor of the castle. Do you reckon it is of Xavier?" Thomas replied, "No. There were 5 people standing for Alexander's protection. Xavier could not have succeeded in giving this locket to Alexander. But the leader of all the 5 people told that they came here just when Xavier was about to attack Alexander."

Thomas was observing locket very carefully. He saw that there was a broken pendant in the locket. But before he can know anything about the locket, Jasmine asked, "Is this possible that Xavier would have given this locket to Alexander before those 5 people come to the room?" Thomas replied politely, "If Xavier has got the time to give this locket to Alexander then he would better kill Alexander. The locket is surely not of Xavier." Jasmine asked, "Then it can be of the leader of the 5 people as those people and Xavier were the only ones who came to the rom after we went down." Thomas asked, "But why will they give a locket to Alexander? And also the locket has a broken pendant I don't think it will be of any use."

Jasmine asked, "But still if it is given by that leader it will be of some or the other use." Something struck to Thomas's mind. He said, "It is of use. It can be a trace I mean the one who has the other part of the broken pendant can get a trace about the one who is wearing this locket. I have read this in the Most Powerful Wizards of all time in the section of mysterious things." Jasmine was still confused she asked, "But why will that person try to get a trace about Alexander?" Thomas simply answered, "There can be any reason for this. Only that person knows about it." Before Wilsons can end their conversation an owl came flying towards their window. As it was a Magical Universe it was not strange for Wilsons to get a letter from an owl. As soon as Thomas opened the window the owl came inside dropped a letter and flew back. Thomas took the letter and started reading it.

Dear Wilsons,

I am the person who defended Xavier tonight with my 4 companions. Thomas you have got it right. The locket which is currently in Alexander's neck is given by me. And the important thing is that you shall not remove that locket from Alexander's neck, nor shall he do it by himself. It is very important to keep a trace on him currently. Until I myself will tell him to remove the locket he shall not remove it. And come on you all are already too late. You all have to reach a safe place before the sunrise of tomorrow. Or you all are going to be killed. It is not the correct time to ask questions. Just do it the way I told you.

Thomas told, "Come on I hope you have packed the bags. It's already 2:15." Jasmine asked, "I have packed the bags but where are we all going?" Thomas answered, "There is my one childhood friend in the Magical World and he will surely help us you will come to know about him as soon as you will meet him. Come on Jasmine take Alexander it's high time we are moving." Thomas took out his wand and pointed it on the bags which were to be taken to the Magical World. He chanted a spell and then the bags were disappeared. It was not strange for Jasmine. She knew Thomas will do that spell as they have to travel with the brooms.

Soon Wilsons reached the entrance of the castle. Thomas asked, "Jasmine are you ready?" Jasmine courageously replied, "Yeah!" They were soon stopped by guards. There were two supporters of Dark Magic standing there. One of them asked, "Who are you and where are you going?" Thomas replied, "I am Thomas Wilson. I know that you know very well about me." That person asked, "Of course yes Mr. Wilson. But where are you going at this time of the night and do you have the permission of the ruler?"

Thomas replied angrily, "I don't need any permission of your stupid ruler Xavier." The other guard got too angry after hearing this. He asked, "Do you even know what you are talking about and about whom?" Jasmine interrupted, "Yes we know very well about this." Thomas simply said, "We are running from the castle. We never wanted to live here. Nor we wanted to serve for Dark Magic. But still 10 years are very much for any such foolish thing. We just wanted to ask if you both are going to join us and come to Magical World."

Both of the guards were too angry. They shouted, "Do you really think we will betray Lord Xavier? We are not like you." Thomas replied, "Very well then we may go alone." One of the guards smiled and then asked, "By the way how are you going to cross the castle as you don't have ruler's permission as well. And I shall remind you that there is no supporter of Dark Magic who is living in this castle till date who has crossed the castle without the ruler's permission. After this both the guards started laughing. Thomas replied politely, "And we will be the first on to do so." He added, "Jasmine now!" Both of them took out their wand and pointed it over different guards and shouted, "ALIVIBRIO."

Wilsons were too quick and also none of the guard predicted such thing. Wilsons stood there for a few seconds as they thought they will be getting another task but they didn't so they moved forward. They got their broomsticks by using the magic but one of the guards got his wand and tried to attack Wilsons. As he was not faster than Thomas so Thomas shouted the spell, "CAULOBACTOR". This made the guard too weak.

Thomas told, "Jasmine you shall move forward. Reach the Gate towards the Magical World as soon as possible. I will be following you and will try to tackle Xavier if he comes. The other guard went to the Xavier's room and called him. Thomas thought that Xavier must have been awakened. And so he tried to push his broom faster so that he can be with Jasmine which will be much safer for the Wilsons. But Xavier entered the battlefield. He shouted, "Thomas you betrayed me. He shall not reach the Magical World." He ordered to his army chief, "Thomas shall not reach the Magical World. Get him here ALIVE."
