Chapter 3

Shouts of an angry crowd could be heard coming in little by little, filling the room with that deafening din. While Dian Victoria kept her eyes closed and her hands covering her ears to try to calm the growing noise.

Grandmother Rosa, almost without caring about the chaos that was coming, kept on pronouncing words that came from another language never heard in Serendipia.

-We have to find her," someone shouted from outside the house, just a few feet away.

Frederick Augustus remained outside the room where his little daughter was. Without being able to know exactly what was happening, he felt how the main door exploded on one side of where he was, blowing the door into hundreds of pieces that traveled through the air in all directions, some of them reaching Dian's father's face, causing slight and superficial wounds on his face and arms. Following this, an enraged crowd invaded the house, without asking for any permission, they entered as if they were a death row inmate who had escaped the fate of his sentence.

-Where is the phenomenon," said one of them, taking Dian's father in his arms, lifting the man's body a few centimeters off the floor.

Inside that room, grandmother Rosa remained motionless, whispering things and moving her arms in circles, now a purple light was forming in the center. From the middle of it a woman came out, as if it were some kind of portal, she brought Dian's mother, Victoria, from somewhere outside the house. That woman had a triumphant entrance, as if the purpose of her life had been to prepare for that specific moment.

Now the two women inside that room got in sync and began to repeat aloud a single phrase "Protejați Imperiul" releasing from their hands waves that spread everywhere. Protecting the place where Dian Victoria was hiding, the spell was intended to protect (turning invisible) to anything that one had in mind, it was not necessary to be present in the same place only to have the vivid image of that which one wanted to protect.

-Protejați Imperiul- pronounced both women with greater intensity at the precise moment they invaded the room.

-Mother! Go with her, don't leave her alone for a second- Victoria ordered Rosa.

All those people who came in search of the little girl entered the room, the same one where they only found the mother casting some kind of spell, which at that precise moment made all those present to be surprised to see so much power, provoking the confirmation of a rumor that had circulated throughout the city minutes before the arrival of all the individuals, confusing the rumor, which claimed that the little girl was a sorceress and not finding her in the house and instead the mother in half exposure, they assumed for granted that it was her so they took her by the arms with devices that neutralized any kind of power or magic and made her beg for her life.

-You are a threat to all the people of Serendipia," said one of them, "And seeing that you don't want to cooperate with us in a good way," he made the husband of that woman who, until that moment, had no idea that she was there, "we will have to do it the hard way.

Without thinking twice and much less hesitating, they took Frederick by his hair and lifted his head to expose his neck and with a pure silicate wand they cut the poor man's throat in less than a blink of an eye, but after doing that, what they expected did not happen.

It used to be said that when you kill a wizard with a silicate wand right through the throat, all his power would have to come out of it to be released and leave the earthly body, but instead, from his throat came out something common that everyone in that room had seen perfectly, blood began to gush everywhere and the reddest and thickest blood anyone could have.

-Victoria screamed in helplessness as she watched the father of her three children lose his life in front of her.

-Now do it," proclaimed several people at once, "pour all your power into this sphere.

It was a crystal sphere that connected to a medium sized machine, which extracted and stopped any kind of magic, spell or power.

Victoria did not answer, her eyes were watery and her throat was closed because of what she had just witnessed, she did not have enough strength to say or do anything about it.

-Do it," said a manly voice. And then the silicate wand ran along Victoria Rosalinda's neck, cutting the delicate skin of the woman. Spilling blood from every opening that was made and not her power as everyone assumed it had to happen.

Victoria was only losing blood helplessly, slowly and painfully until she lost her last breath of breath and lay lifeless in the living room of that house that once protected her from all evils.

All those who were present were in a state of stupefaction, they could not explain why all the power they had seen minutes before when entering had not gone as they explained in all their files and records they had. But, one thing they were aware of was that a little girl's cry was growing in that room, however, there was no girl there, at least not in sight of everyone. The cry grew louder until it exploded completely and a field of light spread in the room coming from Dian Victoria who, with the burst of her power managed to break the magic that covered her and her grandmother, she managed to make every living being, thing or object that was present disintegrate, including the house where she lived.

The blast reached a few meters around, leaving the little girl and her grandmother standing next to her in the middle of nowhere, without a single soul around her.
