Chapter 7 - New Home
A day later Jackson's team has gathered enough supplies for his new home. Piles of lumber neatly stacked and stone cut into 2 meter long half a meter height. All that was needed was for Tool Maker to finish her calculations and designs for the base.
"Master, Here are 3 designs for the base." Tool Maker presented her work to Jackson. "There are 3 types of designs to choose from. First type is made with available materials, wood and stone. Still can withstand a level 3 attack but can only last for 1 day." Tool Maker Said pointing towards the first design.
Jackson picked it up and examined the design. First design showed walls made of stones about 5 meters high and 2 meters thick supported by wood pillars. Back on earth this design would not be able to hold a day of bombardment but here in this world the trees are thick and stronger and the stones from the rocky mountain as strong as seraphinite, which is the toughest crystal on earth.
Moving to the next page of the design, Jackson looked at the mansion designed after a pagoda from China. It has 6 floors, 2 floors as the living area, 2 floors for lab and crafting 2 floors for farming. All made from wood with stone foundations.
Finishing examining the first plan. Tool Maker handed to the second one. "Master, this is the second design. This is far more stable than the first but the materials are maybe harder to get but not impossible."
Taking the design off Tool Maker Jackson inspected the design. The second design looked much more elegant than the first but when Jackson saw the materials required he could not help but wonder where he should find them.
The second design required metals, sand for glass as well as wood and stones. The walls are made with stone plated with metals and look much more intimidating than the first. The mansion itself is designed after modern buildings on earth.
"And lastly the third design" Tool Maker handed the final design to Jackson. "Personally, if Master wants to stay long in this area I would choose this plan for the new base." Tool Maker voiced her opinion.
Hearing her, Jackson was curious about her last design. The third design was based on an Egyptian castle but altered slightly to look more modern and futuristic like. The design covers the whole 200,000 square foot area of the surface of the rocky mountain flats. 4 large watch towers on the four corners north, east, south and west. The towers then connect by the walls made from stones, wood and metal in the inside. The three materials laid out skillfully to absorb attacks from the outside.
Inside the walls the flat surface will be fully covered by the same structure as the wall for a better foundation. This should stop any attack from underground and is undiggable from under, this also helps with earthquakes and shockwaves.
Then the middle layer is designed like an underground shelter to prevent aerial attacks. This is then separated in 4 sections. First the living area, Followed by the Lab, next is the mechanical room to provide water, heaters and chillers for food and sprinklers for the farm and garden, lastly the maintenance and factory section for when Bunker is damaged or needs some upgrades in the future.
The roof layer is turned into a farm and garden area. Seeing this base design Jackson wanted to choose this but seeing the materials required he knows that even with Tool Maker here it would take days or weeks to make this plan but still Jackson wants to stay here in the future this will be his main home.
After serious thinking, Jackson chose the third design. "Tool Maker, begin to set out the plan for the last design. I plan to stay in this place for years, so far we don't know If the natives of this world are hostile or friendly so I would like to make my own place if that happened."
"As you wish Master" Tool Maker bowed and walked away to look for Henry and Bunker.
Seeing everyone work Jackson could not help but feel excited. He was free here and could do what he wanted without anyone bothering him.
Looking up at the sky Jackson began to remember the past. He was always chased by terrorists in order to gain his technologies. Back then traveling would always end up in a battlefield, both his country and the terrorist would attack and defend him.
He couldn't even go out on a date without the woman he was with being associated with and becoming a target. Everything was a hassle, he remembered Bell telling him to find a wife instead of making the new element.
Memories flowed inside Jackson's head and he began to chuckle at his past suffered. He wondered if this time he could get married but are the natives human? shaking his head to throw away his thoughts.
Jackson's mental struggles were stopped by Cuprite calling him. "Master! I need help."
Hearing this Jackson move and walk towards the side of the mountain where this is now a hole dug by Cuprite.
Standing there, Jackson called out to Cuprite. "I'm here, what do you need?" Standing there Jackson began to hear movement inside Cuprite nest. Few seconds later Jackson was greeted by 5 new ants that look like Cuprite but smaller and cute.
Looking at the 5 new residences of the rocky mountain Jackson was shocked by this. "Cuprite started her colony?" Jackson said in his mind.
"Uhm Cuprite? What do you need me to do?" Jackson asked while still inspecting the 5 ants that came out of her nest.
"Master, I need lots of food for my children," Cuprite answered telepathically.
"Ahh I see, I'll go see what we can do about it. '' Jackson scratched his head and started to walk away but Cuprite stopped him.
"Master, wait!" said Cuprite.
Stopping, Jackson turned around and noticed the ants ran back inside the nest. A while later they came back carrying something. Jackson saw the rocks carried by their mandible and was surprised that it was an ore, to be specific it was an iron ore.
"Master I found these while digging inside my nest. It was hard and smells different than rocks so I thought these would be useful to you." Cuprite said to Jackson while one of the small Ants carried the ore to Jackson and handed it to him.
Picking up the ore Jackson called out to Cuprite is joy. "Good job Cuprite, We need more of this Cuprite dig out more of them" Excited Jackson has now one of the required materials for the base other than wood and stone.
Who knew that Cuprite would find an iron deposit under the rocky mountain. Hearing Jackson's praise Cuprite excitedly answered back to Jackson and got her children to start digging for the ores and stacked them neatly with the other materials.
Seeing this, Jackson moved and ordered Henry and Bunker to stop working and start hunting first. Cuprite said she could eat anything from fruits to animals as long as they will give her energy to lay her eggs.
"Bunker, Henry, stop gathering the Materials for now, Tool Maker has plenty to work with for the next few days. I need you guys to go out and Hunt any animals you find and put them over there." Jackson ordered them and pointed at the entrance of Cuprite's nest.
"Roger" both responded and put down the logs and began to hunt down some animals around the mountain. Not long after Jackson can hear gunshot and squeaks every now and then.
