1 Chapter 1

— Being dead turned out to be quite boring....

thought the soul floating in the void, a pitch-black abyss to be exact.

— I was hoping for Hell or Heaven. I hope my family's okay.

Hope was all this man had left, because nothing else could keep him in this place. He didn't know how long he'd been here, but it felt like a long time. Apart from his thoughts and memories, he had nothing left.

Did he think back over and over again to how he'd come to live? No, more like existence.

— Fucking session ...

Yes, he was once a student... 3rd year, studying to be an engineer in the oil industry. He got decent scholarship money, but he also had a job. But more like a part-time job.

— If it wasn't for that fucking professor!

That day, the day he died, the student was in a hurry to solve a problem that loomed before him. That professor was quite a problem, because the student had pissed him off because he didn't want to give him credit. Here the student and tried to negotiate with him on this matter, because he soon faced a task called Diploma Work.

Having received that day a refusal, he sluggishly went to the apartment which he rented. And on the way back he was thinking so hard about what he should do... He missed the red light at the stoplight, and then he got hit. After the pain of the impact, he woke up here. In total darkness, with nothing but his thoughts... At first he thought he might have fallen into a coma, except he distinctly remembered his skull being crushed.

— I don't think you can live with your head missing. Although it didn't stop me from living into my 20s.

The days of the new soul would have been boring if the unexpected hadn't happened at one point. All of his currently existing senses were flooded by a purple glow, it didn't last long. However, after that, he felt something strange brewing inside of him.... Something was changing him, and quite successfully.

— What is it? Is there a strange energy inside me?

At first he didn't want to do anything with this energy, but after a long time he began to experiment with it little by little.

---After nth amount of time---

In the place where the former student was, a long period of time had passed. The soul had already learned to more or less manage the energy he had received.

— What can be said about the results of the experiments... -What can be said about the results of the experiments? First of all, this energy is quite difficult to change. And secondly, the use of energy strains my essence, it feels like it is very closely connected to my soul.

In all this time, he's learned only a slight manipulation of this energy, which he calls Spiritual Energy.

— And I think I was starting to go crazy...-

At that moment something out of the ordinary happened and the soul felt itself being pulled somewhere, and he had no strength to resist.

— Fucking professor!

---Earth---

Near one of the orphanages, a bundle appeared out of nowhere, containing a baby.

— WAAA!!! -announced its arrival as if it had just taken its first breath.

At the same time, hearing the child's cries, a rather elderly woman came out of the shelter. Looking around for the source of the sound, she suddenly saw a baby wrapped in a blanket.

— Oh, my God! Who dared to leave a child out on a night like this? — questioned the woman to herself as she picked up the child.

As soon as the child was taken in her arms, he felt warmth and calmed down.

— Eh ... And what's your name, little rascal? — looking for any clue, she found none. — In that case ... From this day forward, your name is Adam, Adam White.

------

It was quite easy to realize that I was a trapped person, and to accept it too.... Anything's better than what I had in that Void. And what I got could make any unhappy man grind his teeth. Still, I was transported into the past of my world, and given my knowledge of the future... I'd say I've got a good chance of getting everything I want.

— Yeah, and I look great. — the boy with the purple hair echoed my smirk.

It's still weird to see that hair color and that face in the mirror... I guess I'll never get used to it.

— Adam! — shouted the matron of the orphanage where I was.

— Coming, Mrs. Smith! — I shouted, stopping what I was doing.

It was 1966 and I was already 6 years old, the orphanage was in Great Britain, or rather in its capital. One of the many orphanages in this city which was no different from the others.

I went downstairs and was met by a woman who was a substitute mother to many in the place. She was an elderly woman of about 50, with brown hair and the same color eyes, her age indicated by sparse gray hair and wrinkles.

— Adam, is there anything you want to tell me? —The matron looked at me reproachfully.

— I could not bear her demands about faith. —I said, understanding what she was talking about.

Seeing how she continued to look at me with the same reproachful look, I sighed and said:

— I'll apologize to her.

Mrs. Smith finally nodded in satisfaction, and after I finished my business at the orphanage, I was on my own. And could finally sit down to my training or rather practicing my abilities.

— Hmm... — I locked myself in my room again, trying to manipulate the energy I'd gotten in the Void.

Concentrating I saw a purple flare appear on my palm ...

— Haaa .... haaaa... — The energy output as I had just done is still quite difficult.

After wiping away the sweat that had already appeared on my forehead, I began to rest and think about what to do next. After all, in addition to this Spiritual Energy in me there is some other energy, which is very difficult to control. And because of this, strange things often happened around me, like chairs or books floating in the air. Sometimes when I wanted to get one thing or another, that thing would fly into my hand.

My Spiritual Energy worked a little differently with the material world ... And it would be necessary to rename this energy, because when it came into contact with matter, it literally destroyed it almost at the atomic level. I was convinced of this when I made a hole in the wall, lucky I couldn't pull out a huge amount of this energy. Otherwise it would have been a disaster, I don't know how this energy comes in contact with humans or other living things.... But that contact would have dire consequences is beyond question.

The reason why I tried to learn how to manipulate this particular energy was because the Spiritual Energy was with me even before I was born. This new one didn't appear until after I was born, so while I took the time to control the occasional impulse a bit, the main focus was on what I would have even if I died.

Today, I couldn't sit through DE (Spiritual Energy) training all day because I had to go to town later.

*Knock, knock, knock *

I stopped my manipulations and opened the door and saw the matron's assistant, it was a religious girl who had a fight with me during the day.

— Adam, we're going to be ready in a few minutes. Adam be ready. — She finished harshly, hoping it would scare me.

— All right.

The girl didn't see a shadow of fear on my face, but with a grudging curl of her lips she walked away.

— Eh ... Fucking baby hormones, and the body. — said putting on his dress clothes, well what dress clothes ... Worn in places, but the best I've got.

The reason I couldn't get along with Catholics or other believers was because I saw a very interesting afterlife. Had I been more mature I might have been able to keep my mouth shut ... But perhaps the influence of a young body prevents that.

I looked at my reflection and saw the same charming boy, grinned and went downstairs. There were a couple of guys of my age waiting for us, not to say that they were few. Still, the post-war birthrate boom happened, though not as big as in the 90s of my future?

The wait for the others was not as long as I had expected, and after an hour we were in the center of London. Here and there were people in suits again, quite old cars for my past future?

— Kids be careful. — said Mrs. Smith.

To which the children nodded positively, it's not every day you get to go to the zoo. It's a pretty amazing place for kids. I was only interested in visiting the place to enjoy the central parts of the city. Still, in my previous life I didn't manage to visit London or New York ... At least in this one I'll have time to see the world.

Before entering the zoo Mrs. Smith gave another educational talk, and at the same time I was busy listening to two adults talking.

— Have you heard the news about the demonstrations in America about Vietnam

— How can you not know about it when it's on the air?

Hmm. Not to say I'm very well-read on Vietnam, but if I remember correctly, it was one of the US's greatest mistakes. At the same time, other people were discussing a very different subject.

— Who do you think is going to win this year's parliamentary elections?

  — Harold Wilson and his Labor party will win, of course.

— Ugh, I was hoping Edward Heath would win this time.

— Hahahaha, keep dreaming...

— Adam? — suddenly Mrs. Smith called out to me. — Adam?

— Аh? I'm coming! — shouted when I saw they were already starting to go inside.

All in all, the tour of the zoo went quite well, if you turn a blind eye to the fact that it was quite boring. Still, I am a person from another time and such things do not surprise me. In the age of the Internet you could find hundreds of videos of these animals not just posing, but fighting for survival.

After the whole crowd we were led back, and then something happened that knocked me out of my rut ... There's a man in the street with a stick? Started doing weird things, swings and words. And then a door opened in front of him out of nowhere?

I looked around, hoping I wasn't the only one who saw it. But it was like everyone else didn't see it. What the fuck?

I was literally stunned, because what the fuck just happened? Doors don't open out of the wall by themselves ...

— Shit! —I felt a jolt from behind, the kids started bickering, as if they hadn't noticed they'd been bumped into.

— Muggle kids! I'm late for work?!— the man in the coat said and ran on.

And I was left staring at what had just happened ...
