13 Chapter 13

"It turns out until the fall?" I asked my friends, already approaching the platform.

"Are you sure you won't be able to answer emails?"

"Sirius, I don't think Muggles will appreciate the fact that the same owl flies to the shelter every day. And time is unlikely to be enough."

Sirius just sighed and said:

"In that case, until September."

"Until September. You just try not to piss off your Aunt Cassiopeia."

"It's not funny; I would look at you if such a woman was close to you."

"Heh, so it's good that I don't live with her. What do you think, Lily? Severus?"

"I agree with Adam."

"I'm sorry for you, Sirius."

Sirius only gasped theatrically at such words:

"They are still mocking..."

"Phhaahaaha." The whole compartment was filled with the laughter of four Hogwarts students.

In such a good mood, we arrived at our stop where the adults were already gathering.

"Do any of you see your adults?"

Of all the company, only Sirius nodded:

"Apparently my grandfather has just arrived."

It didn't bother me so much because Sirius praised this man very often. And most likely Sirius' parents didn't love my friend even more.

"It will be interesting to meet him."

"Where is he?" Lily asked, looking at her parents in the crowd.

"Do you see a man with gray hair in a black robe and a cane?" Sirius said, pointing with his finger.

It was quite easy to find a man, since he was one of those who crushed the people around him with his aura.

"Are you sure you're his grandson?"

Lily and Severus also looked doubtfully at Sirius after my question.

"What do you mean?"

"Your grandfather reeks of seriousness... And I feel this authority even from here. And you..."

"You sound like you're joking." Lily finished abruptly. "Nothing even remotely like that."

...

We were all shocked by such harsh words, and Sirius, recovering, said:

"This is if something hurts worse than the stinging evil eye."

"So you said it right."

It was a pity to look at Sirius, so I quickly changed the subject.

"When do you say there will be a World Cup in Quidditch?"

"In 1974. I hope that our national team will be able to win at least this time."

In general, my task was crowned with success and Sirius has already told me about how he went to the World Cup in 1970.

"But the coolest thing was in 1966 when Velikboritania hosted the World Championship. Then the Australian national team won."

He said all this while we were getting off the train, there was no special sense in rushing because there were a lot of people, so.

"Grandfather," Sirius said, holding his posture in front of his grandfather.

"Sirius," the man spoke rather dryly. "Your friends?"

"Yes, I told you about them, remember?"

"Mr. White," he nodded looking at my hair. "Miss Evans and Mr. Snape."

Under his gaze, I and the others willy-nilly kept a straight posture. There was something in his demanding gaze that made him meet some requirements. When I met his gaze, I felt the full weight of his gaze, but I had no desire to give in to this gaze.

"Nice to meet you, Lord Black," we said in unison.

"Hmm." Outwardly he did not express it in any way, but I saw for a moment the approval of something flashed in Grandfather Sirius's gaze. "Are you ready Sirius yet?"

"See you guys later."

"Until September."

"Bye."

"Good luck." Severus had already said that.

Sirius pretended not to hear the subtle hint in Severus's words and only said:

"Grandpa, I'm ready."

At the same moment, the grandfather and grandson disappeared into the funnel.

"Have I already told you how unpleasant it was to travel like this?"

Lily and Severus just rolled their eyes.

"Okay, I got it, I told you. Where are your parents?"

"They should be a little further away," Lily said thoughtfully, putting her finger to her lips.

Passing on, I saw the Potter couple, as James was heading towards them. Well, the man looked like Potter in some way.

"Uncle Carlus!" "Aunt Dorea!" said James.

"Heh, how are you, nephew? Your parents were a little busy, so Fleamont asked me to pick you up. I hope you don't mind that?"

James just shook his head.

"Well, in that case, hold on."

After that, another family of wizards disappeared into the funnel. On the way, we saw many other families, some also transgressed, and others just passed through the portal.

And after a rather short time, we found Lily's parents. The girl saw them and immediately ran to them, of the new faces there was a man with a strange mustache. As I realized later, this was Lily's father, the man's name was Edward Evans. And in general, he was a kind person at first glance. So he offered to take me to the shelter; I barely managed to convince him not to do it. Still, I had one unsolved problem, in solving which I needed to be alone.

After saying goodbye to the Evans family, who said they would bring Severus home, I went outside holding my wand in my hands.

As soon as I lifted it over the road, a three-decker bus appeared in front of me.

"Night Knight, where are you going, kid?"

The conductor was a rather young guy of ordinary, unremarkable appearance; you would see him in a crowd and not notice.

"To The Leaky Cauldron," I said.

"That'll be 11 sickles."

Fortunately, before I left for the holidays, I managed to go into the warehouse, which was located inside the Requirements Room. After some time, I found 5 galleons and 100 sickles. So, I could still use this bus.

"Hold the ticket," said the conductor, taking the coins. "And let me help you with the suitcase."

After that, I waved my hand invitingly. Going inside, I saw seats and several people who were reading newspapers or books. Most of those on the bus were pretty young people, and they were also Muggle-borns for the most part. I don't think aristocrats would wear T-shirts with the inscription "The Beatles."

Meanwhile, the conductor said something to the driver and sat down to read today's newspaper. Having found a place to sit down, I began to think about my next actions.

"Hmm..."

At the same moment, I felt a sharp pull back, and the picture outside the window literally blurred from the speed. Looking ahead, I saw how we were rushing straight at a pole...

"Piz..."

As soon as I wanted to put it, it was as if we had apparated to another place, and we didn't crash into any pillar.

"Fuuuuh...."

I decided not to pay attention to the further road because if you look at this picture for a long time... It's not even an hour before it starts to feel sick.

As I remember it, the Minister of Magic Dugald McPhail came up with the idea to imitate the relatively new "bus service" of Muggles, and in 1865, the "Night Knight" appeared on the roads.

And although some wizards announced their intention to boycott "this Muggle outrage," as some readers of the Daily Prophet called it on the pages of letters, the "Night Knight" has proved its enormous popularity among wizards and is in demand to this day.

"Leaky Cauldron."

Approaching the exit, I nodded gratefully and said, "Thank you."

"You're welcome," the conductor replied with a smile.

Then I took my suitcase and trudged inside the bar, where there was also a dubious company of people from different walks of life.

"Mr. Bartender, can I leave my suitcase here for a couple of minutes?" I asked, approaching the man behind the counter.

The bartender looked at me and only nodded briefly. "Leave him here, mister?"

"Adams, Edward Adams."

I didn't look quite the same as usual; my red hair turned black, and my eyebrows also turned dark. Fortunately, it was much easier to learn magic at Hogwarts that could change the color of hair than to learn Invisibility Charms.

"All right, Mr. Adams, I'll keep an eye on your suitcase."

Having passed through the portal, I found myself in Diagon Alley, where life was also in full swing. The first thing to do was to go to the library, which was located here; I would need to buy books for the 2nd course only towards the end of July. So, I need to buy books that interested me personally. First of all, I was interested in books about Mind Magic, if there were any here.

After a long search, I found a couple of books on a topic of interest to me. Taking all of them into my own hands, I trudged to the checkout.

"All this will cost 50 galleons."

After trying to bargain, I only made sure that I would have to find the money since I had a plan for this case. Since a couple of jewels from the Requirements Room should be enough, although I was not a jeweler, I was still able to distinguish a jewel from a dummy.

I also knew the place of sale of these ornaments; fortunately, a couple of Slytherins that chatted about this place told a lot of interesting things. It's good that then I was returning after training while under the spell.

"Can you hold these books for me?"

The shopkeeper looked at me after a moment and only nodded. I went in the right direction pretty quickly.

Lyutny Lane is adjacent to Oblique Lane and occupies a smaller area. This is a crooked, darkened street with shops where, as everyone knew, they sell very dangerous things.

The most famous of them is the shop "Borgin and Barkes." Wizards who use the services of such establishments usually prefer not to advertise it. Apparently, the truth is not shameful to discuss it among their own, so according to them, it turned out that the most famous shop in this place can buy or sell these or other jewels for a proper fee.

At the entrance to this alley, I began to notice that there were clearly fewer ordinary people, but there were already more suspicious personalities. Although it's still light enough on the street, the fact that every scum of society began to follow me... If I hadn't noticed it, I would have considered myself at least a blind idiot.

Eh, the looks of thieves and people who want to kill you or rob you... It was as if he had returned to his school years and the times when he had to walk through dubious courtyards. Yards in which the gopota fucked with each other for fuck understand what... Nostalgia.

But these looks have so far remained looks, and I calmly found the shop I needed. Fortunately, the inscription above the shop served as an excellent guide. Going inside, I found a rather elderly man sitting behind the counter in expensive clothes. By the same clothes, we can say that he dresses the way the other aristocrats would like to see.

"Welcome to Borgin and Barkes; can you just call me Borgin, mister?"

The man began in a rather obligingly obsequious tone, and at the end, he began to evaluate me.

"Adams," I answered finally, not forgetting to direct DE into my eyes.

My eyes, after drinking their TE, began to shine purple. I learned this after numerous experiments. And he started after Sirius noticed an oddity in Professor Slughorn's class. After all, it was necessary to understand the reason for such a phenomenon.

Apparently seeing something solid in my gaze, Borgin continued in the same obliging manner:

"What can I do for you, Mr. Adams?"

"I'd like to sell you a couple of trinkets."
