prologue

In my world, your place in society is decided the moments you are born. Why? Well, it's all decided by the colour of your hair. You see the colour of your hair puts you in one of three groups:

Civilians

Elites

Grim's

Civilians: are your normal everyday

People their hair colour varies from, blue, purple, blonde, pink, orange etc.

Elites: there are less than three percent of people in the Empire that are elites, elites get treated specially their hair colour varies from, Golden blonde, Silver and white

Grim's: and grims, grims get treated the worse in Empire, Grims get treated like outcasts and looked down upon. Their hair colour varies from, Black, brown, green, red and some shades of yellow

I Penelope Patrova was born with an unfortunate amount of luck on my side. The moment I was born my glowing red hair was the first thing, everyone noticed.

Which lead to my parents being cold and distant towards me and my older sister, Emilia wicked behaviour, and the maids and servants bad-mouthing me behind my back.

My parents and my sister all have Golden blonde hair which I have to admit I envy them for it. Everyone in the kingdom worships and looks up to them. Which lead me to hate social gatherings, everybody would look up at my family's beauty with admiring looks, then they would look at me the ugly duckling and their looks would change to disgust.

But being the ugly duckling did come with some perks I could leave the palace whenever I wanted without anybody noticing even though I hardly did, it was a good bonus. And my personal maid Lana is the only person who is nice to me which lead me to appreciate her the more.

Like I said before people with red hair frown upon. My hair is crimson red which leads to a lot more bullying, Lana always said my hair is unique and I shouldn't be ashamed of it, though I do appreciate it, I can't exactly follow her advice since she wouldn't understand since her hair is blue so she has never been through any hardship.

Soon after I was born my parents took me to the temple to ask what monstrosity has been bestowed upon them.

After some testing, it was found out that I was chosen by the Goddess Hera for divine power, but they couldn't find out what power I have been allotted but they said I would've found out by the time I was seven by the latest

But days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months and months turned to year's and by the time I was nine I had, I couldn't use my divine power so everybody thought that the temple was wrong and I had no divine power and everybody had turned their back on me and my parents giving me an even colder shoulder than before.

I'm now seventeen and I'm only trying to live my life at the castle without any more distractions.
