2 Chapter 1
I was running, but I couldn't remember why. I could remember all the details from that night, but not why. My bare feet slamming against the mud as the rain poured. The feeling of mud squishing between my toes and what was left of my clothes clinging to my being almost like skin. I knew nothing but those details. I didn't know why I was running or where I was running to. I came to a clearing, the woods behind me fading into city.
I stumbled hearing shouting and horrifying stomps behind me. Why did this scare me? My questions stopped momentarily when my tumble got more aggressive. I eventually came to a stop, hitting something, putting me in more of a daze. A few moments passed and again I heard footsteps but was too out of it to run.
"Sir, I think she's hurt!" A female's voice shouted to another.
"Quickly, let's get her out of the rain." A calm man's voice replied. I felt myself being lifted then moved. I closed my eyes for what I thought was a second but when I looked around everything was completely different.
"Roy are you crazy?! She is the escapee the military is looking for!" A man exclaimed. I slowly stood up, the night gown I was changed in to flowing behind me with each step. I quietly exited the room I was in and into the next.
"She was wounded and is just a child, I couldn't just leave her for the dogs!" Another man responded. I walked closer to the voices, then the floor creaked under my weight causing me to come to a halt. The two men along with a women looked at me.
"Oh you are awake, take a seat." One of them said gesturing to a spot on the sofa. I went ahead and sat down, sinking into the fluffy couch and keeping my eyes strained on the floor.
"How are you feeling?" The female asked.
"I-I'm fine. Everything is fuzzy though...." I mumbled. She smiled at me.
"I am Riza Hawkeye, what is your name?" She-Riza asked.
"My name? It is...." I trailed off.
"(Y/N) (L/N). That is your name. You are an alchemist of great skill." A man with glasses said crossing his arms. "I am Maes Hughes." Maes said.
"Do you know me? You seem to know more about me than I do." I asked. The man beside him decided to speak up.
"Please Hughes, enlighten us on some more information you aren't telling us." The raven haired man said.
"Roy if I tell you everything else it would be putting everything in jeopardy. This girl here was kept in custody and hidden for a reason. I don't exactly know that reason though. All I know is it was orders from the top." Maes said pushing his glasses up.
"Those people- for whatever reason scared me. I don't know what I may have done but I don't want them to find me." I said a chill running down my spine.
"She is a child Hughes, I won't just let the military take her to do whatever they were before. You saw all those scars. Whatever they were doing wasn't right." The man said, I'm guessing his name was Roy.
"Fine you win. We will keep her hidden but we will need her to be disguised. She can't live indoors her whole life." Maes said.
I watched them confused. They looked at me and I just gawk at them with a strand of hair falling off my shoulder.
"Wait a second, what is an alchemist? If I was one shouldn't I know what it is?" I asked.
Roy explained to me what an alchemist is and Maes told me what kind of alchemy I used.
"Can you teach me again?" I asked. They seemed uneasy then nodded.
"Now for the disguise." Roy said with a stupid smirk.
Time~skip
I was suited for the perfect disguise. My (H/L) (H/C) was died (F/C). I was given a mouth guard/mask to cover the bottom half of my face. Riza gave me some clothes that didn't fit her anymore. (Any outfit of choice). They all seemed quite satisfied with the new looking me.
I pulled down the mask and looked at them. "What's next?" I asked.
"Well I believe we should figure out your living arrangements." Maes said.
"Ya know I have an idea. This would be a great opportunity to teach a certain someone a bit of responsibility." Riza said looking at Roy then Maes caught on.
"Yes I see. Roy you are taking (Y/N) in!" Maes exclaimed.
