Realm Wars 9 - End of the Star Rings

ES-GNT

"This. My fellow spectators and audience has been a huge roller coaster of excitement and shock." Bertha muttered her eyes not leaving the live stream that showed on the screen.

"Who could have expected such an event? A war in a war. No one knows what led to this, what unleashed such energy to create something like that in the game. But I'm definitely sure we're all excited to see how this ends".

" While the gods stand back visibly frightened from the sheer pressure this thing must release the administrators, children of the mother have taken the battle to it. Yes, I am now well caught up with things I told you I would love this family. Yet it appears this is a trap. Fortunately, our streamer birds or ravens as they are called remain undetected to the game forces." she shook her head as she gave her next statement.

"It's obvious though what that sea of chaos is gonna do. The question is, can the gods halt their doom? Would the extinction of gods be felt by mortals? Would the.." she paused as she read something.

"Oh my. It seems the mortal realm is tied to the soul realm, which is where the sea of black is headed for. It's just separated by the river of souls. Can't even imagine how that works." the audience was too tight on their seats to even react.

'Thank you players, you bagged this for me. Now survive please', she thought. 'Now to spice it up more.

"Will this become another relic or lore in the game for newer players? Is this what the devs have planned? We do know of the news that beta players will be released into the game this week. Could be a storyline for them to follow?". she asked watching as the crowd had a moment of realization.

What was an epic lore to have in a game? An entire universe consumed by chaos. Stories spread and mortals and gods would try to be ready for such a dreadful event.

" It seems we might have a glean to what the devs have planned. But please I hope I'm wrong," she added. The crowd seemed to support that comment as they all turned to the screen with hopeful expressions.

Comments ranging from asking for aid from the other universes to questioning where the creator God was filled the network platform. A look to the side door where her boss stood earned her a thumbs up. 'Rating must be improving' she mentally sighed in relief.

"Oh, something is happening." she suddenly announced getting the audience and spectators roused. Everyone watching noticed that indeed something was happening. It was not something expected as the scene on the screen made most frown and others clasp their palms together.

"Well shit, they're all gonna die now" Bertha announced in shock.

The words in the deep sea of the void typing itself out settled then vanished. A ripple spread into the distance and then vanished too.

The void ripped apart as a boy appeared right where the words had been. "This was unexpected but expected too." his voice while low was audible enough. There was silence then words appeared in the backspace facing away from him yet he could understand.

[WE WAIT. WE WATCH]

"Failure?"

[UNLIKELY. BUT PROBABLE ONLY FROM LACK OF ACTION]

"The plan?"

"Why move the timetable?."He rubbed a hand through red hair calming his irritation with the current events down.

A sigh escaped him before he nodded. " I'm guessing it doesn't look good then." There was no reply but the boy didn't seem to need one. Finally, he looked far away and after a sigh, something he was doing quite a lot he noted, he spoke.

"Go easy".

"Time is..."

[NOT. ON OUR SIDE ANYMORE]

His face twisted in a frown as a feeling of trepidation washed into him.

"We need to get down there now". Freyja shouted. The worry on her face was not something expected from a lady of the dead. Tora moved to grab her siblings only for the first of the chaos crystal beings to strike. A black spear flashed past her arm and sliced into it with a speed that she barely noted.

Tora screamed as the chaos ravaged her arm. Divine energy quickly moved to stall the destructive energy from going any further. Hissing while holding it back with her divinity she stood around her siblings willing herself to change into lightning.

The admins stood rigidly as the crystals rushed at them from all sides closing the gaps between both.

" Anytime now Tora" Freyr muttered backing up a bit as the gap between him and a particularly nasty crystal reduced.

"I...I can't. " The announcement had all four turning to look at her. Only Ozai glanced briefly before looking back to the crystals. "The wound?" he asked his eyes going from one creature to another searching for their weakness, any weakness.

"How.."

."Mother always warned us never to go beyond the edge of the castle, by calculations that meant beyond the nothing.

"Wait you mean?"

"Yes. Mother has been the one holding this entity back. I don't know what happened that caused this but it tore the wall Mother must have erected."

"I did see what caused it. The power used came from beyond our universe."

"Something outside powered one of our own within to tear a hole in our protection," Ozai commented.

"Why would anyone do that?" Freyja asked looking worried. Everyone looked at her and then back at each other. No one answered. There was no point worrying the girl with speculations.

"Less chatting more focusing on them.". Freyr announced.

The first of them pounced and Haero batted it away. Looking behind him be watched Tora bind the cut with a wisp of divine energy. She grabbed one of her tails and tipped it off with a hiss. The tail once fluffy and cute, crystallized into a long shaft that crackled with lightning energy.

While she could use her lightning, the wound made it hard to push divinity away from there as it kept the primordial chaos at bay from ravaging the rest of her internal body.

Ozai formed a blood sword while Freyr made a pair of tantos in both his arms. Haero simply covered his fists in sun fire. As Freyja made a sword out of soul energy all eyes turned on her.

" Make a bow. It's safer." Freyr spoke urgently. The girl made to argue before all formed a circle around her each facing the four cardinal points.

"I'm older than Freyr" she muttered with a pout as the soul sword shifted into a bow.

"Technically we're all the same age except for Haero," Freyr replied. There was no answer from anyone. All their attention now locked on the crystal attackers.

Haero's first shot out in huge punches that left a burning line of sun fire that blazed through the chaos creatures. Ozai dashed forward a bit from where he stood and began lashing out. The fight commenced. Tora's lightning bolt flashed about and dealt damage to the smaller-sized chaos entities. Freyr popped out of existence and into existence all around the group as he fended off the extra mass. Haero covered Freyja while she shot arrows made of soul energy from behind him.

It was a closed battle with the nothingness below their feet and above their heads. A primordial sea of chaos around their sides spitting distractions and keeping them busy unable to leave while its limbs stretched like the sea to devour the soul realm.

Tora flashed from side to side decimating the crystals her movement left a streak of white lightning in her path. Haero breathed flames out covering one side of the chaos sea with sun fire. Ozai had no projectiles as his enemies didn't bleed, so he stuck with his sword attacks. Freyr was the most diverse, switching up from long-range to short and personal, then to cramped and berserk fights.

.

Slowly the things began filling space, for every one of the black crystals taken down, there were five more to replace it. Noticing the things about to overwhelm them Tora halted, charging her bolt with more energy she filled it with lightning till it shook from the excess power then she tossed her it up where it paused. It shook as the energy within destabilized and then with a white flash of light unleashed a wave of lightning in a circle pulverizing the crystals before it calmed and dropped back to Tora's grasp. Catching the bolt she spun and pierced it into a crystal that had been way too close and luckily escaped the blast.

The fight continued as more and more crystals kept pouring out of the black sea. Freyrwgo had been locked in combat with the various chaos Argonnes and other flying entities suddenly shouted.

"They're gonna die".

All the gods looked out the primordial chaos enclosure, past the nothingness and into the realm. Freyja whimpered at the sight while Tora growled furiously.

" We need to get down there". Ozai hissed while still dancing around the crystals his blood blade carving and shattering their body.

Haero clapped his palms creating a flash of flames that devoured the chaos once more leaving room for him to breathe.

"Where. Is. Mother?" he exhaled. Mentally he pondered why the acclaimed elder brother wasn't here to aid either. Was the existential threat to all life not enough to get his attention?

"They're all gonna die." Freyja sobbed again before turning to the chaos wall with anger in her eyes. "Because of this thing". The gold of her eyes vanished replaced with blue as mists of energy swirled and oozed out of her skin.

It formed a huge ball that condensed over her palm.

" Big brother," she called her eyes not leaving the ball. The Suneater was quick to understand. Running many dungeons together they had formulated various combos, this being one of many. Soul energy bypassed armor and obstacles.

Filling it with a lethal attack would add to the effect of the damage. While the chaos entity lacked a soul the ball would aid to carry its payload into the thick of the entity.

"Get ready Ozai" Haero called. The blood God glanced, took

a second to understand then continued his fight.

The ball of energy filled up with Sun fire that compressed till it was dense. Then the Oragon threw the ball, Haero breathed fire once more burning all obstacles, and watching the ball clash into the black sea.

"NOW!!' Freyja screamed her wings unfurled as she flapped dashing out of the enclosure she and her siblings were trapped in.

Ozai turned like a streak of red light and grabbed Tora bounding after Freyja. Freyr conjured little knives which he flung continuously at the flying crystals.

The sea quaked. The top of it ripped apart as fire and blue energy tore through it in a blast of mixed light For a second all the creatures froze as the sea roared.

The five didn't wait. Tearing through the frozen mass the shot for Feyryire. Their bodies crossed the bounds of the sea and they plummeted for the realm flying above the stretched-out limb that looked like a flood of black water covering everything.

A wave of fire flowed out of Haero's hands as they flew past, burning the black waters. It sizzled, it steamed but the chaos held.

" There's too much chaos now!" Ozai announced his expression was forlorn.

The five were so focused didn't even notice the second arm of chaos sea rising and outstretched to grab them. Only until it covered the light of sol which cast a shadow over them did they notice. Haero's flames burned brighter his eyes turning completely golden and red as he got ready to burn it all.

"Why would Mother let this happen?" Freyja asked.

No one spoke. Only watching as the sea descended. "Is this the end?" Tora asked, for the first time none of her pride was in view. None spoke, all the questions being asked that day were surprisingly ones they had no answer to.

Haero raised his arms to release the Sun fire when the sea arm blew open, black ice creeping past the chaos and holding the other parts in place halting the arm. They saw it frozen like a crystal arm before a flash of silver light from far off shattered the base where the arm connected to the black sea.

"Mum?" Ozai turned to the distance to look as the arm toppled away and shattered into nothing as it was engulfed by silver fire.

"No. That's silver fire". Ozai pointed out. " And?" Freyr looked from him to the location the beam came from.

"Less staring and more running would be more effective in getting away" The bark had them jumping to see a female. One that looked nothing like a god. More like a devil. A devilless.

"And that". Ozai frowned.

Beautiful, white hair, glowing purple eyes, wings burning with silver fire, and scales of ice blue that covered her forearms and parts of her body leaving white skin to the rest. Four long sets of tails lashed behind her as she eyed the chaos distastefully.

"She's strong" Haero announced frowning.

"How strong?" Freyr asked.

"Like strong. Or you strong?" Tora added.

"More" was all he said.
