56 CHAPTER 55: Fortress

Sirin slowly collected himself, the shifting image of the fragment still lingered in his mind.

He shook his head and then kicked off the ground to fly back. He had no idea where that thing now was. Nor why the thing was here to begin with. Had it been waiting for him?

But one truth stuck with him. He was entertainment, something that the creator enjoyed watching. Or at least the fragments did.

But then, was there any meaning behind his existence at all?

He clenched his fist. If the creator wanted to play things like that, then he would search for the red god.

This entity didn't seem to be a fragment, yet it was still in contact with at least one of the creator fragments. If anything had the knowledge and the highest chance on speaking the truth, then it had to be this creature.

Also, the red god had given him the system in the first place, so it had already acknowledged his existence.

With new motivation in his heart, he returned to the cave. As he set foot in the neatly decorated interior, he saw how no one was here at the moment.

However, there was a note lying on the table near the fireplace.

He picked the crumpled piece of paper up. The handwriting was terrible, and so was the spelling.

Once Sirin deciphered the note he saw that it read. "Mister Demon. Were going to town for the festifal. See you soon."

He sighed. Emilia clearly wrote this.

With a frown he placed the note back and pondered on if he should follow them. he had ever seen a human festival. But in the end, he decided against it. His humans already had a tough time going unnoticed. Having him creeping around and following them definitely wouldn't make things easier.

And if they got in trouble Sirin would know anyway. Whenever Hendrik used his magic Sirin always knew unless he was actively trying to ignore it.

He sat down despite him barely fitting in the chairs anymore. Frankly, he was bored out of his mind.

After his encounter with the fragment this silence was terribly uneventful. Yet despite him wanting to look for the red god at this verry moment, he had no idea how to get to the void. And searching for it would take some time and he had to ensure that Amanda and Thilsor would be safe here in the long run.

Now that he was stronger , he could probably afford more warlocks. Those would keep them safe for as long as he wasn't here. furthermore, they could help him gather more souls and maybe even powerful artifacts.

He grinned and pushed himself out of the chair.

With a flick of his wrist, he extended the stone of the cave, creating stairs that led down to the outside floor.

If he was going to make a cult, then their base better look the part. He was going to see how big the building was that he could create with the system.

Before long, a large building with elegant pillars and towers erupted out of the ground. It was beautifully decorated with bright crystals that slightly glowed in every colour imaginable. The crystals perfectly blended in with the overall design of the building what created a sight more than just gorgeous. The interior was made up of a maze of halls and hallways.

Now with his magic nearly completely drained, Sirin leaned against one of the walls.

Making something this big might not be the brightest idea he ever had, but he just couldn't help but show of. And now he was looking forward to Amanda and the rest returning.

Once he regained some of his magic, he built a stone wall surrounding the fortress. The gigantic gates of unknown material stood open as he waited for the others to return.

Once they did, they smelled of the various dishes from the human cuisines. Though there was a hint of alcohol detectable in the scent that clung to Hendrik.

They were all amazed by what Sirin had created. Though Amanda just seemed to be proud at what the young demon had done Hendrik worried that now that their base was easier to spot, they would get in trouble.

To which Sirin added that if he could create this fortress from nothing but magic, then he would also be able to kill a few mortals if they dared to set foot in here.

He hadn't told them about the plan of starting a cult just now. He didn't want to tell them that he would do that in preparation to leave, to find a god that might give him a disappointing answer in the end.

After he had given them a tour and shown them that the original cave had stayed the same, he retreated to the 'throne room.' By now Amanda would be taking the kids to bed anyway.

He had based it off the one he had found in hell. Mainly because there was something about that design that allured him. He sat down and stared at the glowing symbols that he had painted over the walls and ceiling. He spent the rest of the night expanding the collection of writing and drawings until the first golden sunrays shone through the small windows.
