27 CHAPTER 26: I just want to go back to hell.

It didn't take long for Sirin to get to the camp.

He felt the other demons that were watching him stared at him a little longer than usual.

Sirin knew that his appearance was quite unique, and that it wasn't really normal for him to be back so early. But he still had it that these demons had somehow seen his wings.

He ignored the stares of the demons and went straight to where the prisoner sat.

There were now a lot less people than before. Some had been killed or eaten with the idea that the demons could now take new and healthy people back from the attack.

Most of the people that were left were sleeping. With the bulk of the camp attacking the bunker, the chances of being killed in their sleep were much smaller.

He stopped in front of the bars. Spot, who was sitting on Mirana's lap, looked at him with questioning eyes.

Sirin managed to smile. "Come on little animal."

The coyote walked hesitantly toward him. This caused a few people to be awakened from their light sleep.

Jan looked up irritated at Sirin. But instead of returning Jan's gaze, Sirin looked at Belias, who now had the task of guarding the cages.

"Hey incubus. Dunkelblau is trying to make a deal with one of the investigators in the bunker. Otherwise we won't be able to open the door to some shelter easily. Three of those mammals and the half-breed should be enough."

Belias turned his head to Sirin. "Oh really? And why shouldn't he come himself and send you?"

"Then he misses the chance to steal more souls. And I'd really appreciate it if you could open the cage so I can get back soon."

Belias could hardly contain a fit of laughter. "Ah poor you. Are you so small and frail that you have to do the tedious work for other demons to prevent one from wearing your skin as a belt? I almost feel sorry for you!"

Sirin rolled his eyes. "Yes everyone in the whole camp knows you are insecure about your bloodline and strength. You don't have to make it clear how great it is that you are no longer at the bottom of the food chain, I know and understand. Now just open the cage."

Reluctantly, Belias opened the cage and Sirin took Mirana, Jan and two other people out. Before he walked away with them, he looked back at Belias one more time. "I'll see you after the attack is over."

When they were finally far outside the camp, Jan spoke to Sirin. "Okay, what do you actually want to do with us? I'm pretty sure someone wouldn't put the lives of four strangers above a whole group of friends and family. This is not the deal you explained to that demon."

Sirin grinned and glanced at Jan.

At this moment Jan could almost feel Sirin's bloodlust. Unconsciously, he took a few steps back as the stark white demon came closer and closer. He closed his eyes, afraid the demon's glowing eyes would be the last thing he would see.

But instead of emptiness, he felt a warm liquid on his cheek. He looked up in surprise, only to see two corpses next to him. The throats of both persons had been bitten out. And Sirin stood above the lifeless bodies with blood on his mouth and plattered all over the place.

The demon stared in the direction of the camp for a few seconds before looking back at Jan. "What you said is true. There was never a deal. The point is, something happened during the attack. And to be honest, I just want to go back to hell now so I can figure out what it all means without those adult demons breathing down my neck day and night."

Jan, who was still shaking a bit, could only just suppress the urge to run away from the demon. The fact that he knew he could never run fast enough was a huge help.

Then Mirana spoke. "What happened then? Is there anything I can help with?"

Sirin bit his lip. There were no other demons close by at the time, besides, Mirana knew so many stories. Maybe there was something she could explain to him about this, or maybe she even knew a solution.

He took another deep breath and looked around one last time to make sure there really wasn't another demon close by.

"Good. I'll show you what happened."

Then he unfolded the wings he had previously hidden. They were exactly as he remembered. Bat like along with those awful white feathers.

"Wait what?" Mirana came closer and touched one of the featers. "They are so soft and smooth! I didn't know you could have feathers too!"

"Now that's the point!" Sirin hissed. "There are demons with feathers. But they are never like that! If you don't know about this, I'm going back to hell now to find out for myself why I have these feathers."

She looked at Sirin with sadness in her eyes. "Sorry, I don't know about this."

"Okay, then I'll go."

Sirin hid his wings again. But before he could do anything, Mirana grabbed his arm. "Sorry, I know you want to go back to hell. But if that means killing Jan, I can't let that happen."

Sirin giggled. "Do not worry. The summoning circle also works in reverse. I can actually ban myself from a world. I've seen a few other demons do it and I'm pretty sure I can do it too."

Still a little suspicious, she let go of his arm.

"Oh, before I forget." Sirin picked up a fairly large rock from the ground and turned into a flame demon. After this he used some unnaturally hot fire to melt part of the stone. After a minute he had turned the stone into a bowl with a very small opening.

When the bowl was finished he turned back into his base form and bit his wrist. He let the black blood drip into the bowl and then used a thick branch to cover the opening.

"I'm not quite sure how it works. But you can probably summon me again with my own blood. I would really appreciate it if I could ever come back to this world."

Mirana nodded and took the blood from him. "And what if that doesn't happen? I don't want this to be the last time I see you."

Sirin raised his eyebrow. "Oh really? What have I done for you? What makes me valuable enough for you to want to see me again?"

"You could have killed me so many times, but you saved me from the lab. You listened to me and protected me when I slept. Even now you have freed me from the camp when you could have easily killed Jan. And most of all, you're the only creature with horns who hasn't tried to eat me."

Sirin had already started drawing the circle with the blood of the people he had just killed. When Mirana had finished talking, he looked up for a moment. "For real? Have you never heard of a goat?"

Mirana just laughed as she watched Sirin complete the circle and dive into it along with spot. Suddenly she felt how Jan had held her sholder. "We have to destroy that blood. I don't know if that thing is a demon or something else, but it must never come into this world again."

But Mirana could only look at the bowl. "No Jan, no. I think it should come back to this world."
