Chapter 42

When a battle between worlds happens, the main objective for both sides usually is to try and destroy the other side's beacon. To make this easier, when creatures exist in a world that is not their own, they will instinctively feel the direction that they would need to go to reach the enemy's beacon.

But before even entering the enemy world, a fight in the tunnel that connects both worlds usually happens. This fight will decide which world will be able to directly attack the other and which one will need to defend itself from the attack of its enemies to protect its resources.

When a beacon is damaged, it will start leaking energy that the enemy troops will be able to absorb and carry to their own world. If the beacon is destroyed, the attackers would even be able to carry some pieces of it, with which they may be able to steal subs or even add-ons from the world they are attacking.

A few hours earlier, while the group of cultivators was fighting the mutated air-cutting mantis, Axel was observing the battle while smiling.

"Wow, this is truly epic." He thought to himself.

It was the first time that he had seen a fight happening in his world, and he had to admit that he was pleased. Even though his world was still in the early stages of rank 1, the creatures in his world were strong and had pretty interesting habilities, and after seeing this fight, he felt even more determined to continue with world-building and make his world even better.

At a point in the fight, things began to get ugly for the human side, and even worse, a voice suddenly partially broke Axel's concentration.

"Is there anyone in there?" The voice of Axel's mother suddenly asked through the door of the bathroom.

"Oh, shit. I need to get out of here. " Axel thought to himself.

He quickly glanced toward the battle that he had been watching before making a decision.

"I would have loved to see how this fight ends, but it seems like it would not be possible. Well, just this time, and because it has been pretty fun to see them fight, I should lend them a helping hand in this dangerous situation. Heaven, throw a bolt of lightning at that mantis and help those people. " Axel said while he watched that the beast was getting an advantage against the cultivators.

"As you wish, Master." Heaven's voice loyally replied.

After giving that order to Heaven, Axel quickly broke his concentration and replied to his mother.

"Yes, it is me." Axel quickly replied. "I just came out of the shower. I will leave the bath free in no time."

"It is fine, I will use the other bathroom. You can take your time. " His mother's voice replied before Axel could hear her footsteps getting away.

"Damm, that was close." He thought to himself while breathing a sigh of relief.

Before leaving the bathroom, Axel decided to wait a few seconds so it wouldn't be suspicious, as it would be weird if he got out of there the second after his mother knocked on the door.

After waiting for a prudent amount of time, he left the bathroom and sneakily ran toward his room, where, after closing the door, he began texting his friends to tell them about the news.

"Expansion finished, beacon built, an add-on created. I'm officially a rank 1 worldbuilder. " He wrote in his message.

He didn't have to wait long for the answers, as his friends soon replied.

"Congratulations!" Adam replied.

"That's our boy. I have always believed you would do it! " William said too.

"Do you already have any plans for what to do next with your world?" Adam asked.

"I don't know yet what my next modification will be, but I've been researching about rifts, and if I am able, I would like to participate in some," Axel explained.

"If you are poor, the best way to participate in a rift is to lick Mark's shoes as hard as you can, so he can get you a vacancy in one. But usually, he doesn't accept rank 1 into his groups, so it would probably be hard for you to convince him," William explained.

"What? Mark? Our Mark from the comic store? Why the hell is he capable of getting people into rifts? " Axel asked surprised.

"Man, he is one of the leaders of the "Weapons of the Gods". If he can't get you into a rift, no one can," William explained again.

"Well, how about we go to the comic store tomorrow so I can ask him if he can lend me a hand to get into some rifts?"Axel asked.

"You can try, but remember that you promised Emma to fight her the next time you went to the comic store, so you need to be prepared for that," Adam said.

"That is not a problem for me. I will fight her and win easily thanks to my new energy add-on. So, if you are available for tomorrow, I will suggest that be our plan. " Axel said confidently.

"If those are your wishes, I'm no one to tell you what to do," William replied.

Like that, it was planned that the next day they would go to the store, and Axel would have a fight with a seven-year-old girl before asking her father for a favor.
