50 The Red sword v/s The Dead's Ruler

----POV: Shiva----

"It's Shiva v/s Sasaki!!"

As both contestants entered the arena, they were having what seemed to be a staring contest, as though the first one breakaway would undoubtedly lose this match.

Shiva had a mocking smirk plastered on his face as he gave an irritating stare at him before summoning his scythe.

Sasaki, a man in loose robes holding a blood-red sword, was glaring at him menacingly. He looked as if you curb-stomped his puppy 4 years ago and only now found the attacker after searching for years. To say he was in a rage would be putting it lightly. If looks could kill, he would have been dead fifteen times over already.

'I don't even know this motherf*cker, why is he so pissed off?! I didn't do anything to make him angry, did I?' Shiva thought to himself while making the mental image of a raging bull and putting it over Sasaki.

"Match begin!" The referee cried out, already on the sidelines placing a bet on how this undead using shmuck is going to bet creamed by the second ranker. A sure thing should be capitalized one, no?

Unsheathing his red sword, Sasaki glared murderously at Shiva as he declared self-righteously, "Scums like you who are thrown from society have no place among the living! I'll squash you like the bug you are."

He pounced suddenly, moving like a blur, all while cursing his very reputable name. Shiva should file for slander; how dare he say he say he's scum! He's ATLEAST a b*sturd, though. That much he'll readily admit.

"Huh?! What the hell? The guy didn't want to banter or explain his reasons for being mad? Talk about lame…" He was surprised at how fast he was going and was still trying to see if he could remember seeing this SwordB*tch before, the very one who was suddenly jumping at him.

He remembered where he was and hurriedly raised his scythe as he blocked the sword coming for his neck.

Tang!

A chilling sound echoed out as the two blades collided.

Shiva was launched backward from the force of collision as he hurriedly used his go-to skill.

"Skeleton summon"

Twenty skeletons holding different weapons like a sword, a spear, an ax, a wand, and many others appeared all around Sasaki, surrounding him.

"I don't know why you are so angry at me, but let's calm you down a little bit," Shiva said looking at Sasaki.

"Do you think these cute boneheads could stop me?" Sasaki had the nerve to sound offended by this display.

"Why don't we find out?"

"Fine, in the time watch me decimate your skeletons, I hope the gravity of how utterly outclassed you are sunk's in, scumbag. Let me show you how easily I can crush their skulls," he said while taking on an attack stance.

Shiva sensed danger and quickly ordered his skellies to attack him, but he was too late.

Random Joe: "Ohh! What is that?!"

More Knowledgeable Ken: *Gasp!* "Its sword aura! How did someone still below floor 10 unlock sword aura?!"

some people in the audience cried out, at this knowledge.

Impressed Ian: "To be able to produce sword aura within first 10 floors, he must have been grinding mastery since he could properly hold a sword!!"

Assuming Allen: "He must be a sword genius!"

Sasaki looked at Shiva with a smirk as he used a skill they were familiar with,

"Mana Slash!"

It seems like he, too, had obtained a man slash skill, though of the sword variety.

The way he used the skill was unlike Shiva who just used it as a slash at the target.

He planted his left foot firmly on the ground and placed his right foot tangentially to produce torque. At the last moment, when the skill was about to be released, he pushed his right foot back, producing a torque accelerated by his skill to produce a horizontal circular mana slash which is further powered by Sword aura, creating a ring-like area of effect.

A 360-degree Mana Slash was shot around him as it completely cut the skeletons in two. It seemed like his level was above level 60 as level 70 skeletons with 60% of their power were one-shot by him, and by the looks of it, he seemed to have used a considerable amount of mana too.

Sasaki watched the skeletons being cut into two with a smug look on his face as he said,

"Did you really think these clumsy skeletons could defeat someone like me?"

Shiva had an urge to use his Undead Restoration skill and make his skeleton raise once more to wipe away the smug look off his face, but he endured. Why would he give up information on what he could do when there were still three rounds left? He had to keep some cards up his sleeves, after all.

But it seemed like Sasaki was feeling quite arrogant when he saw Shiva silent, so he continued with his ranting as if he thought to educate Shiva on how utterly impossible it was to take him down,

"Did you think a Sword Saint candidate like myself would go down with just these clumsy Undead? *Scoff* Yeah right," What most thought of when they saw Sasaki, they'd think he was a stoic man that didn't like talking, yet here he was, stroking his own ego with a passionate fervor like an exhibitionist in a dark alley. The glaring shift in character would make anyone think where the silent hunk went.

Captain Obvious of the U.S.S. No-Sh*t: *Gasp* "To think he's a Sword Saint Candidate!"

C*cky Carl: "No wonder he is able to use sword aura! A Sword Saint Candidate should be able to do at least that much. Otherwise, even I could be a Sword Saint Candidate!"

Numerous gasps and words of admiration could be heard from the audience, adding lube to the proverbial stroking of the man's ego.

He looked at Shiva, expecting to see the despair in his eyes after his bombshell declaration, but something seemed off.

He was smiling and he even seemed excited!

'Does he have something up his sleeves?' He thought looking at Shiva who was now leisurely walking a couple of steps backward.

"Do you think you are the only Sword Candidate here?" Shiva said, a chilling smile adorning his malicious face.

"Huh?" Sasaki was caught off guard as he was not expecting Shiva to say that.

"You see, I planned to use him in the semi-finals or finals…" Shiva said looking straight into his eyes, "… but since you are bragging so much about being a Candidate and all that hot sh*t, I figured 'meh, f*ck it'. Let me teach you what a real Sword Candidate looks like." And thus he summoned his first devote Summon.

"Summon, Kapali." And the Undead Golem Swordsman appeared in a flash of black mist and purple light, ready to the misbegotten a fool who thought they could threaten his Lord's life and get away with it.

His most loyal servant was now up and ready for war.
