Hearing the sudden news, Si Jingyun's good mood fell to the bottom. He pressed his lips together, frowning at the thought of Chen Ziyue's recovery. It wasn't like he hated Chen Ziyue or didn't want her to get up, but it was a little too soon. He liked how things were going for the past two years.

Si Jingyun was a scum man and he owned that fact. No matter how perfectly eligible man he looked on the outside, his heart was rotten to the core. For these past two years, he acted to be the perfect man who believed in his fiance when the whole world was against her. He acted to visit her every day and say some sweet words to her in front of the nurse which helped him in building a great reputation.

With this, not only he earned a great reputation in the outside world, but also in front of Chen Ziyue's parents. Now, they believed in him even more than they did in their daughter. And, that was what he wanted. He wanted Chen Ziyue's parents to only trust in him.

Because Chen Ziyue knew the fact that he was cheating on her. Before this suicidal incident, he had a big fight with her. Apparently, she caught him having an affair with a woman in a hotel room and since then, she wanted to cancel their engagement. She wanted to tell her parents about his real nature but how could he let her do that?

She was the perfect candidate for being his wife. And, he couldn't lose her.

He knew that she didn't love him and was willing to get engaged to him because of her parent's words. But, he was fine with that. He didn't want her love. He wanted the benefits that came with her being his wife. The Chen family was good and they raised their children very well. They also had a good reputation in society and had a good top position in the business world.

He wanted to have a connection to such kind of a family. Luckily, the Si family and the Chen family had good friendly relationships. His father had a good old friendship with Chen Ziyue's father. Hence, he was able to use their friendship and get into the good books of Chen Ziyue's parents.

When he told them that he loved Chen Ziyue, they were overjoyed. Immediately, they set up an engagement banquet and made Chen Ziyue get engaged to him. Since then, he had a smooth sail in his business journey with the help of the Chen family. He got so many deals and his company reached another height.

At the same time, he liked her personality. He had known her since childhood and hence, he knew what kind of a girl she was. She was so unlike other girls who were fake, greedy for money and fame, loved vanity, and would only look for benefits. Despite his handsome looks, if he didn't have money, these girls wouldn't even bother to pay single attention to him.

Si Jingyun knew that he was playing a dirty move but he had no other options. Chen Ziyue was a big fish that he caught in his net and he was not ready to lose her. And, anyway, it was not like he was going to release those pictures. She was going to be his future wife and he cared about her reputation more than himself.

These pictures were safe in his hands and he was only using them to control her. And that's why he didn't even let Song Ning have a copy of those pictures.

Since then, his life was at ease. Chen Ziyue did what he told her and never dared to object to their engagement. She dared not to tell her parents about him and he was free to do whatever he wanted. After that, Chen Ziyue did put in a lot of effort to get those pictures from his hand but was unable to do so.

He was always one step ahead of her and she failed at every attempt. Everything was going well for him. He was planning his next big move and that was to get married to Chen Ziyue. Once she is married to him, she would have no other chance but to compromise.
