61 Meeting him

After coming out of the room, Bai Liyue ran towards the elevator. With her heart pounding in her chest, she pressed the button and wished for the elevator to arrive quickly. At the same time, she was looking back at the hallway from time to time, to see if the businessman was coming after her.

Luckily, he wasn't.

She glanced back at the elevator and frowned when she realized how slow the lift was. It was taking a lot of time to reach her floor. She couldn't help but recall the businessman's words in her mind. The businessman disclosed that he was the owner of this hotel so what if, he had ordered guards to catch her?

Morover, she also knew that the media was coming over to catch her in a room with the businessman. She didn't want anybody from the media to know that she was in this hotel. She was aware that some people from the media and the paparazzi are excellent at turning things around, twisting words to make the small matters quite big.

If they catch her in this hotel, then she will become the limelight of tomorrow's news. She didn't want that to happen either. Hence, she needed to get out of the hotel as soon as possible. After making a quick decision in her heart, she stopped waiting for the lift to arrive and ran towards the stairs.

However here, luck failed her.

As soon as she reached the stairs, she saw two big, bulky guards in black costumes coming upstairs. Seeing them, alarm bells began to ring in her head instantly. Her heart hammered with fear and her hands turned cold. Without blinking her eyes, she turned around and took the stairs upstairs.

Precisely at this time, one of the bodyguards noticed her. He looked at his phone and then pointed toward her, "That's her, right????"

"Yes, that's her. Let's catch her! Quick!!!!!" the other yelled.

Hearing their voices, Bai Liyue sprinted through the stairs. There was panic, fear, and nervousness in her heart but the determination to get away from these bodyguards stopped her from crying. She ran from one stair to the other, going up and up the floor. She could hear their voices, the sound of their shoes touching the ground, she could feel their gazes on her.

Sweat dripped down from her forehead and her legs were tired, but she didn't give up running. They were chasing after her and that's why, she ran as fast as she could, and as hard as she could. Finally, she stopped on the nineteenth floor of the building. Her heart lurched when she realized that it was the last floor of this building.

She placed a hand on her chest. Her heart wouldn't stop raging against her rib cage, and she fought to keep silent a small whimper that was about to escape her lips. Her heart was so loud she feared it would give her away. She looked back and could see the bodyguards coming upstairs.

"Dammit!!!!" she cursed under her breath.

What to do? Where to go?

Bai Liyue looked to the left and then to the right. There were only silence, fear, and deserted hallways in her sight. Gritting her teeth, she finally chose to run to the right hallway with a leaf of faith in her heart. Now, there was only one option for her. She had to get into one of these rooms before these bodyguards could notice her.

Suddenly, she heard a voice.

"Where is that girl?"

"Dammit!!!! That girl is a fast runner."

"I know but let's hurry up and catch her soon. Otherwise, the boss might kill us both."

"Oh look!!! She is over there....."

Bai Liyue looked back and saw the bodyguards right away. Her heart hammered in her chest and her face turned pale. Biting her lips, she ran towards the right hallway. The bodyguards chased after her. She gritted her teeth and ran, whilst looking back at the bodyguards from time to time.

Doing so, she suddenly crashed into someone.

"Ouch," she let out a small whimper when her nose hit somebody's hard chest. At the same time, a pair of strong arms tightened itself around her waist and steadied her. A surge of a familiar scent hit her nose and enveloped all of her senses. She looked up and gazed into those familiar dark eyes.

"Yufeng?" she called his name, her heart skipping a beat.

Looking at him and meeting him so suddenly, caught her completely off-guard. She was frozen, almost paralyzed, and could only look at him with eyes wide open.

Hearing her voice, Qin Yufeng stared at her for a second. Instantly, Bai Liyue straightened her back when she felt him looking at her with those deep, dark eyes. All of a sudden, he inched closer to her face and sniffed her neck carefully.

Bai Liyue froze and a big question mark came across her face.

What the heck was he doing?

Why he is sniffing her like a dog?

"Qin Yufeng, what are you doing...." she stopped midway when Qin Yufeng hugged her abruptly. For a second, her mind blanked. At this moment, all she could remember was these familiar arms, this chest, and his protective hug which told her that no matter what, everything would be okay.

Her eyes turned red and she wanted to cry and tell him that she was alive. Since the moment she woke up, she was dealing with strange, unfamiliar people but now, she was in front of the man who was her husband in her past life, a man she was most familiar with, a man she cared about.

How could she not cry?

Nevertheless, she didn't let her emotion take complete control over her mind. She wasn't Bai Liyue anymore, she was Chen Ziyue. With that thought, she pushed him away from her but he didn't budge.

"You!!!! Let go of me," she said, trying to get out of his arms.

The more she struggled, the more he tightened his arms around her. The more she wiggled trying to get away from him, the more he hugged her. For a while, I push, you pull, I struggle, and you hug continued. Finally, when she couldn't take it anymore, she yelled loudly, "Qin Yufeng, what is wrong with you? Why are you hugging me?"

Qin Yufeng looked at her for a moment and then he suddenly whispered, "Yueyue...."
