Heart pain

No matter how much Yuan Li didn't want to do it, but under Bai Liyue's stern but innocent gaze, she had no other option. If she gave her phone, then she might get into a problem but if she didn't give her phone, then she might get into a bigger problem. Hence she had to bite her tongue, put in her password, and hand over her phone unwillingly.

"Ziyue, what do you want to check?" she asked nervously.

"You messages."

"What?!?!"

"Just kidding," Bai Liyue winked and began to check on the news.

She moved to the edge of her seat and peeked at what Bai Liyue was checking on her phone. When her eyes noticed that it was simply plain news related to the incident and the affair, she sighed in relief. For a second, Chen Ziyue's word almost made her suffer from a mini-heart attack. She glanced at Chen Ziyue and frowned slowly.

Can a person really change so much after having a memory loss?

She did not think so. No matter whether the person suffers from a memory loss or not, their innate nature wouldn't change. Then why was Chen Ziyue behaving like a different person? How can a person be so different? Or was this the real her?

Meanwhile, Bai Liyue continued to read through everything that was written about her and the incident on the news. Some articles contained so much filth and derogatory words about her that she didn't even bother to check them. She read about all the statements that were written and given about her.

Everyone was condemning her for her actions and even the rich business stated that it was her(Chen Ziyue) who seduced him. As for his wife, all she did was cry and say all kinds of ill things against Chen Ziyue in front of the media but never said an ill word against her husband. Reading all this news Bai Liyue could only sigh because she knew she had a lot to clean up after the previous owner.

Luckily, all the proofs and photos about her and the rich businessman were still circulating on the internet. This could come in handy if she(Chen Ziyue) was innocent.

"Yuan Li, get me a detailed file regarding this incident. Also, I need to see all the photos and proofs that were shown against me at that event," she ordered.

Yuan Li nodded. "Okay."

After Bai Liyue was done checking the news, she felt tired. She was about to shut the phone and hand it back to Yuan Li when a sudden thought crossed her mind. She bit her lips nervously wondering whether she should go ahead with the thought or not. After thinking for a few seconds, she finally chose to do it.

She put Qin Yufeng's name in the search bar and began to look for news regarding him. Immediately, an article popped up on the screen. Reading the title, Bai Liyue was taken aback and a weird emotion flashed through her eyes. The happiness she felt in getting a new life was instantly gone. Her body went stiff, her eyes dimmed as she looked at the title.

'A new mystery woman in Qin Yufeng's life'

Bai Liyue pressed her lips together. For a second, she felt a heart-wrenching pain in her heart as she looked at the photo displayed in the article. In the photo, Qin Yufeng was standing extremely close to a woman. The woman's face was a blur but Qin Yufeng's face could be clearly seen in the photo. Looking at the photo, Bai Liyeu felt as if she was looking at her husband's adultery.

"Ziyue, what's wrong? What are you looking at?" Yuan Li asked trying to peek at the phone.

Bai Liyue blinked her eyes. It was then she remembered that she wasn't Bai Liyue anymore. Bai Liyue was dead for everyone and for Qin Yufeng as well. She was now Chen Ziyue, a new person. Qin Yufeng wasn't cheating on her. His wife was dead and he had all the rights to move on from her. It was good that he finally found someone else.

This was good for her, wasn't it?

She should be happy for him, right?

They why was it hurting her? Why was her heart breaking into two?

Bai Liyue was confused. She knew she didn't love Qin Yufeng and after knowing what he had done with her, she wanted freedom. She didn't want his love or the position to be his wife. Now, with this life, she can live freely. She wasn't tied to him anymore.

With a sigh, she closed the article without reading it, deleted her history, and gave the phone back to Yuan Li.

"Yuan Li, I am tried. I am going to sleep," she said and closed her eyes.

Yuan Li frowned when she saw Chen Ziyue's weird actions. She wanted to question Chen Ziyue but decided to refrain from it. Anyways, it was better to remain as quiet as possible. She did not want to get targeted by Chen Ziyue again. She wished Chen Ziyue a better sleep and left the room quietly.

After getting out of the room, Yuan Li took a deep breath. Staying alone with Chen Ziyue inside a room was so suffocating. Only after coming out, she did feel a little better. She glanced at her phone and contemplated whether to tell that mysterious person about Chen Ziyue's condition. Finally, after a long thought, she decide to send a message to that person.

As for what that person would do next was nothing of her concern.

For now, she was safe and that's how she wanted it to be.
