Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Near an abandoned alleyway in the big city of Rorl, there lays a suffering young child, many scars could be visually seen all over his body and the bloodied marks on his shirt gave away the fact that he was heavily injured. This child's name was Zamd(ZA-MED). He was copulated between a gambling addict and a drunk prostitute. Due to the newborn between the two, they both decided to quit their addictions and get a proper job as normal people and reform themselves into ordinary society again. At least, that was what it seems on the surface. The young Zamd was a disgusting object in both of their eyes and he was constantly beaten up by the both of them to release their stress. In reality, his mother continued to roam the streets at night for wealthy customers while his father continued to gamble away most of the money he borrowed from the city's main bank. This child didn't know what was love, anger or any emotions at all. Only following whatever his parents told him to do. Until a certain person brought life into him, this person was called Elia, she was a cheerful and brought color into Zamd. He met her when he was of 7 years of age and she was of 8 years of age. When she first met him, it was a normal day like all other normal days when she visited the nearby play area where there was a boy sitting underneath the tree in its shade.

Seeing a child do something that would nornally be displayed by an adult made her curious about him, as children would just normally run around or join one of the groups of children playing there, so she decided to try and talk to him. However, he efforts to talk to the boy were in vain for he never responded and only listened. Upon realising this, Elia chose to complain about what her parents do at home and how they force her to study mathematics despite being younger than most children who start to study mathematics. She said that they wanted her to become an inventor or a craftswoman when she grew of age to gain a job. This drew a small response from Zamd in which he slightly curled up his lips. With her sharp eyes, Elia managed to see this. This gave her the idea to talk and rant about her problems to this boy who was younger than her. So, this continued for a while, Elia would visit the play area to talk and rant to the child and he would give her small responses, eventually giving a small laugh. After a year of this, they both grew older and Elia and the boy started to concentrate on studying. The boy was a genius at logic and inspiration and ideas came to him easily. When his parents decided to leave the area and take away any money and leave the child in that decrepit home, he didn't react as he didn't care about it at all. He quickly cleaned the house free of any glass shards, makeup powder and whatever broken stuff was thrown on the ground. Zamd eventually cleaned everything completely and made it comfortable to live in. The house was the only thing his parents had left him as buying houses back then was considered a pay-in-full-and-we-k years, they began to make new friends, gain feelings for one another and Zamd finally understood emotions as well as anger when he heard from Elia that there were a few of their classmates encouraging them to be engaged already. After his experience at Rosewood, he was offered again to choose another school of a higher tier. He agreed to Rumbark's offer of learning how to make wine, barrels for wine, types of wine and other crafts.

He learned candlemaking, winemaking, furnituremaking. Elia on the other hand was also offered a chance at Holand's school of Woodcraft and Glass after her grades had been pulled up by Zamd's tutoring. Throughout their experiences at their new schools, they constantly sent letters to inform each other of their progress and ideas. They both invented a product that shook the city's citizens. Zamd created the Oakley wine, a rich, yellowish-gold wine that would have a sweetness in it when drunk from an mug made of Oak wood. Whereas Elia created the looking glass. Instead of glass cups she brought up the idea of windows, which pleased the nobles in the inner section of the city and they paid nicely for the double layered see-through product. Eventually, Zamd proposed to Elia after they both finished their schooling. Elia agreed and they both started up the tavern which would be known as the Glass Barrel. The tavern would have 3 floors, the first for the common people, the second for nobles and officials and the third for royalty. The funny thing was that the king once dined there for he heard of the praises given to it for its mellow yet rich and sweet aftertaste. He enjoyed the meal to no end and sang praises of it since it was paired with one of Zamd's masterpieces, an 24-year aged barrel of Oakley wine with only 6 barrels ever made with a barrel each going to both Zamd himself and Elia, a barrel for the celebratory party of their engagement, another barrel for the graduation party which they both had their classmates hold it together, another for their happy marriage and finally, the last barrel was served for the king and was gifted for him to take back.

A few couple of years passed, they are now having their 2nd child. However, on that very day, Zamd's family was murdered, his wife raped before that, his second child killed by the pressure the rapist put on Zamd's wife's womb. The first child had her neck slashed out by the murderer/rapist. Zamd was kidnapped whilst putting up posters throughout the streets and harmed severely by the kidnappers while tied to a chair. His face was beaten up severely with bruises everywhere, his arms had scars from being whipped, the skin on his hands were burnt off by already-evaporating water. When he felt like he was at the depths of hell, he screamed. "Why, why, WHY! Why did you do this to my family. FOR WHAT AGENDA, DO YOU MONSTERS HAVE AGAINST MY FAMILY!!!" After screaming his heart out, he heard a chuckle, he had heard this chuckle before and it suddenly came to him. The ones who hurt him and his family was his father and his father's accomplice. That was what he thought until he heard a light 'tch' and then he realised that both his father and mother worked together to kill his children and wife. At this moment, something snapped in him. Zamd knew of the rule of sacrifice like how there is a consequence for an action and how there is a reward for a sacrifice. At that very moment, he sacrificed something very important for everything, he sacrificed his heart to the void. He prayed steadily in the depths of his heart. "God, no... whatever being there is, God is unfair towards his creations, whatever you are, whoever you are, I give my heart to you, I sacrifice it so that I may see the ending moments of the monsters who created me, the people, no...the beasts that destroyed my only family. "

The reward was the suffering and pained screams of his parents being eaten alive by mouths with no eyes manifesting out of thin air. At this point, Zamd could not see, hear or feel anything at all. He felt empty like a broken shard of his previous self. He was like nothing until something came along. In the living world, he had died. But in the realm of the dead His soul form watched as the souls of his wife and children ascend into the circle of life whereas his parents' souls were torn to nothing and he watched as his own soul approached a dark, blank abyss.
