7 Holiday

Coincidentally the last day of school was his birthday, Jun had never really been one to celebrate this occasion, first of all because it cost money which he could spare but the occasion in itself seemed stupid, second he didn't have close friends so it would be pointless to invite people he knew and he just didn't understand the occasion.

This year he had gotten closer to Tooru, but it was the last 2 weeks of school. You know it always happens you get close to someone at the most inconvenient of times, so she didn't know it was his birthday. All this for the following moment, his mother and sister had both congratulated him and given him kisses and hugs for the occasion, but now he was faced with a cake and candles. They both were singing a birthday song while Jun stood awkwardly at the table. It was weird, but not bad.

''Happy birthday dear Jun/Nii-chan! Happy birthday to you!'' Both girls clapped eagerly waiting for him to blow the candles. Especially Hina who was leaning forward on the table, making him chuckle. Jun placed Hina on his lap.

''Hina-chan blow the candles for me since you give brother good luck.'' Hina didn't think twice and blew hard on the candles, making Ayako shake her head with a gentle smile. They ate cake and that was about it. Jun had reminded Ayako to not buy anything because she already had given him 2 gifts which he liked very much, but in the end, he was gifted a box.

3 Boxes were placed on the table and Ayako spoke apologetically. ''Actually, I wanted to buy this for Christmas and show it to you two then but some things came up and I couldn't buy it. So no better time to give it than now.'' She smiled shyly as she directed one box to each one and then picked one herself.

Inside the boxes, identical necklaces could be seen, with himself and Hina having a tree probably a Yggdrasil tree, and Ayako's pendant had a cross. Truth be told her pendant seemed a lot simpler than both of the sibling's ones. Jun stared at his pendant and quickly went toward his mother embracing her. ''Let me place your necklace.'' Jun offered, without a way to refuse Ayako nodded and gave her pendant to Jun.

Jun carefully placed the necklace he received from Ayako in her collar, and he didn't have time to appreciate his little action because Hina was staring at him with puppy eyes her intentions plain to sight.

''Let me place yours too Hina.'' Jun helped the little girl out. Meanwhile, Ayako only realized something was off when Jun placed his necklace on himself. Around his neck, a necklace with a cross was seen. Jun had never been a believer, he trusted there was an entity far from human comprehension, and that solidified with his transmigration, but he never joined the beliefs of religions and such.

The necklace suited him and with a gentle smile, he embraced both his mother and sister. He sort of started understanding why people enjoyed these occasions. ''Hey let's take a picture.'' There a selfie of a smiling Jun and Hina coupled with a wide eyes Ayako was born. The first real family memory Jun created.

This end-of-school-year break was what Jun needed the most he had one month to pick up and catch up for the time lost. Jun isn't stupid enough to think he is at the level of the Generation of Miracles, note that GoM only started to somewhat take things less seriously during this year, and even still they were at their strongest, with the addition of Kuroko and Kise to the roster. They weren't a team but the link that held the team synergy for this year would be Kuroko. So it would be hard.

So any serious training was welcome. Jun started his spartan training. A routine that only freaks could do.

On the 4th of march and the 1st holiday Jun woke up extra early, and as usual he freshened up and went for a morning run.

Once he got home he took a bath and prepared a rough draft of the meals, he would carry out through the month of the holiday, Breakfast's which contained Protein and Carbohydrates (For himself at least), for brunch fruit salads, or whatever fruit he had, Lunch would be heavy calories and for afternoon snacks he would go back to fruits or protein bars, as for dinner he would just fill in with some good things since only relying on protein wouldn't be effective specially for little Hina.

For instance, the best things for sports players are Carbohydrates, Protein, Hydration, and healthy fats. Carbohydrates are the fuel for your body, providing energy and such, Protein promotes muscle recovery and growth, and healthy fats improve your mental health and enhance a sense of energy coupled with soluble vitamins Hydration is something worldwide, it promotes many things, it satiates hunger, it promotes cell function, temperature regulation, and it improves physical performance this is a part of the many advantages it gives.

Jun had to balance his diet, and the reason he thought of doing 5 meals a day was to sustain his body's needs. He needed to put weight so it is a normal occurrence.

Once his mother went to work and made sure Hina was entertained Jun went to the yard holding, Galons of water and Rice sacks.

Not wanting to burden the wallet of his mother Jun, used his brain and got creative.

Jun holding his sportswear, Jun stretched his body, and then he drank some water with conviction he began his workout.

He picked up his phone and started a chronometer.

Starting with 20 Burpees, once they were done, Jun picked up a water gallon with 5 litters so it should weigh around 5 kg. He made sure he was in the right position and pushed the gallon from between his legs upward to chest level while having his arms stretched, more known as Kettlebell Swings (20), then he did 20 Jumping Jacks, he did 10 minutes of these rotations without stopping or at least trying not to stop, the only rest was when he moved to designed places or to stabilize his breathing. After these 10 minutes were over he rested for 1 minute and moved to the next couple of exercises. Picking the rice sack which weighed 10 Kg, he had bought this rice sack on purpose just for this. He did 24 Push Press, followed by 20 push-ups, 20 Rows, and 15 Box Squats yet another 10 minutes of going around these exercises, then rest.

10 minutes of Rope Jumps, and 20 Sit-ups although little exercises here it was extremely demanding, then rest than 10 minutes of 20 Hang-Snatch (one hand), Suitcase Carry, 20 Rice slams adapter from ball slams, and last 10 step-ups.

Once done with the 50-minute workout, Jun began his stretching exercises and did a little bit of yoga while he was at it, he was drenched and the iron taste coming from his mouth was too familiar to him and relaxed him. The basis of working out is making sure you are doing it with intensity and right.

Jun proceeded to take a bath and play with his little sister or with Tooru(Mobile online games), making sure he helped her study too. It was weirdly relaxing to play with a kiddo and watch her antics, and he would relax, and play video games until his mother came home, whenever he walked inside the house he would dribble the ball, it didn't matter if he wanted to grab water he went to the kitchen while dribbling the ball sometimes incorporating body feints and deceiving moves when in a corner or faced with an object.

Once the time for his mother to arrive came, he prepared dinner.

With dinner eaten and making sure Hina was accompanied Jun picked his ball and went to the court. During this time Jun had come to understand that no one used the court, it was mostly used through the evening, here he would do his next workout set. Jun did 3 sets of 10 Nordic Hamstring curls, lunges, Jump lunges, Squat Jumps, leg raises, and such. Once done he moved forward to actual basketball exercises.

He started with 100 free throws then he would dribble and do 200 floaters and 200 Jump shots. He did not leave until he made all of these baskets.

And that is how his first day of Holiday went and this repeated itself until the last holiday break.

The school would start Monday, 4th of April. Jun stared at himself in the mirror after his run. He had put a lot of weight, his discipline fundamental to his new state. It had been difficult but here he was. 'I am indeed very handsome now.' Jun went from a sickly complexion to a now healthy one, he hadn't had the chance to play against anyone and focused only on his fundamentals and his dribbles.

It didn't mean he would follow the orthodox basket style, he just wanted to grasp the basics, such as Ball handling, Dribble, Body control, free throws, Lay-ups, fadeaways, and such.

His body coming from a skinny side, didn't lose definition if anything it got more acentuated although he hadn't reached the apex of his body his abs were plain to sight with no worry. His arms grew some muscle and he had solid, thighs. He looked completely different not only had he grown 3 cm through this month, but his jawline and such became sharper giving him a dangerous yet refreshing feeling.

Jun nodded to himself. ''Today is the real beginning. You can do it.'' He pumped himself. He wore the school uniform shirt and pants and placed the jacket he received from his mother over his shoulder, it was a piece of garment that he always used and cared for after all.

As he was eating breakfast with the rest, Ayako's eyes widened seeing just how much her son had changed. She did take notice of his change ever since he spoke about basketball, her son always was committed to his words and would give his all, but the level of commitment and focus he showed was beyond, not many could do what he did.

She caught up with his routine and even watched him train on her days off, she would join him from time to time but she would do exercises fit for herself, things said by Jun. Exercising sort of became a family thing because everyone joined in and did it together, with different intensities and different workouts but nonetheless, Ayako felt more energetic and less stressed so she was happier in the end, her work productivity went up and she started being noticed in her job so everything seemed to slowly get better.

Ayako wanted to support her son the best she could, but she had no knowledge of the basketball theme, and even though she asked if Jun needed anything he would just shake his head and say she had given him plenty. She had noticed that Jun's basketball was losing its luster and seemed quite bald, so she made sure she would buy a new ball today.

They left together and Ayako stared at Hina who was happily pulling Jun's hair as she sat on his shoulders.

''Oii Hina, don't pull my hair so hard.'' Jun gently warned but to no avail, since she went from playing with his hair to just hugging his head. ''Hey, you're going to fall... Let me see at least Hina...''

Ayako shook her head but a wide smile persisted on her face. 'He is growing so fast...' Ayako lamented.

I could give you in-depth daily things but I found it extra boring so I just cut this break to 1 chapter while adding some character bonding.

What do you guys think of his training?
