It was a bright and sunny morning; the birds were chirping and Crystal just moved to a new town with her family. The town known as Creekville was a place with the population of not more than 500 people with a very low capacity of keeping your identity hidden for long.

Crystal was a very shy type who had little to no friends back in her hometown. The only friend she had apart from her mother Carol who died from an illness months before they moved away from Nashville was Cristine who stood by her side at all times, . Cristine and Crystal were more of sisters than best friends. They shared everything together, from toys to clothes to even secrets as well. It really hurt Crystal to move away from her best friend Cristine knowing that she had to start a new life without her; but she made a promise to her late mother and Cristine that she would try her best to move on and help her father move on from the death of her mother.

On leaving the town of Nashville, Cristine gave Crystal a matching charm bracelet for her to always remember her by with.

"Don't you ever take this off okay" Cristine says a bit teary-eyed to Crystal. Crystal tries to control her tears in order to reply, "Sure thing, sister's pact forever. Will video call you once I land ok?"

They wave their final goodbyes as Crystal's car drives off. In the car, Crystal reflects back on her memories in Nashville. Memories which had her mum bringing her a favorite bowl of Ice cream, a blasting flavour of blueberry and rocky road; and her memories of Cristine giving her hair a french twist to match her own.

"Oh the joy I had when I was with them", she thought..."but all that's gone now...I have to move on because of my father now that mum is gone."

They arrive at Creekville, and are being taken to a beautiful apartment. "Not what I expected" she thought to herself "but I hope it's worth the move".

On getting to the house, Crystal's dad takes in her luggage and says to her with a smile on his face, "Crystal, let me show you to your room. I'm sure you'd love it". Crystal smiles back at her father slightly nodding her head and follows him upstairs. He then takes Crystal up the beautiful spiralled stairs into a flower pattern wallpaper decorated room; the windows carefully draped with baby pink curtains and an oval shaped drawer and mirror. While in the room, she could feel her father's pain of having to move away from all the memories but he didn't want to show it to upset her.

"Here you are, a beautiful room for a beautiful girl. I hope you like it. I got your favourite wallpaper and also your favourite colour for drapes." The father said with a smile on his face. Crystal noticing her father trying to hide his pain tries her best to console him; her father deeply exhales and says "I am so sorry we had to move from what you were used to but ever since your mother left us, life has been so hard.", he said. Crystal hugs her father and then says "I understand father, Mum's death took a toll on everyone of us. You did what you felt was best to rid us from all the pain. and I'm not judging you for it Dad."

They hug each other once more and the Father says "I'll leave you to get settled in. You have a big day tomorrow, your first day in Creekville High and you don't wanna miss it do ya." he said with a smile on his face.

"You get to make new friends and have a life here and also fulfill the promise you made to your mother without any trouble", he continued.

Crystal realizes and stops her dad to ask out of curiosity, "Dad, if I may ask, where would you be working or did they transfer you to Creekville?"

The Father exhales and answers while trembling in his voice, "Uhhh...yes Crystal, I was transferred to Creekville on the request of the boss....so I still have a job and I'll be able to cater for our needs while we're here". He finally kisses her on the forehead and then says.." It's time for you to go to bed now Missy. Like I said, You have a big day ahead of you tomorrow". "So rest up ok!". Gives her a kiss on the forehead and turns off the light.

From his expression, Crystal could see how much her father was sad but tried to seem happy because of her. She understood her father so well but had a hunch in her that something wasn't right with her father.

As he exited, Crystal stared out to the skies to see how beautiful the stars lit up the navy blue sky before she dozed off.
