2 Chapter 2

It's not the first time Yue Yue has talked in this matter, Wu has already used to it. He didn't argue with her further too, he picked up her bag and stuffed it back into her arms with an apologetic smile.

'If you don't like me like this, I can lose some weight for you.'

'If only it was the matter of those few pounds, but it isn't the case. You don't need to waste your time losing weight, even if you lost few pounds, you can't lose that miser in you! Every time we go shopping you would always go for those in sales; buy groceries on promotions; choosing a room without Wi-Fi and air-conditioner when we're booking a room. All my other girlfriends are driving cars, yet I'm still commuting to work by subway and bus!'

Wu coaxed patiently, 'The traffic in the city are always busy, plus the high gas prices. It's not worth it to drive a car!'

Yue Yue is not convinced, 'Sure, your income is just over $2000, everything in the city is so expensive, you can't even support your girlfriend. Let me help you: just break

up.

'Please don't...' Wu pleaded, 'I don't feel bad spending on you.'

'Yeah, you earn $2000, there's nothing to feel bad right? The point is, you're a university graduate who works from nine to five, yet nothing near a college student. My friend's son hasn't even graduated, he's already driving a BMW. You can't afford a BMW, at least a Porsche?'

Wu fished out a handkerchief, wiping her sweat, 'No worries, no worries, I'll buy one after few years.'

'A few years? With that salary of yours? You even had the guts to invite me over to this shabby house of yours? Your name rhymes with poor. That's it, you just tell your mom that we've broken up.'

When she's about to turn and leave, he pulled her back again. The two pushed and pulled in the middle of the street, even the neighbor's dog barked looking at the two.

'Is there nothing I could do anymore?' Wu said with his eyes red.

To be honest, Yue Yue is sharp-tongued but she isn't heartless. If she's that heartless, she wouldn't have waited until now to mention breakup. Seeing him like this, she couldn't make herself to do it, but there's nothing left between them two, breaking up is just the matter of time. What's the point of being indecisive now?

'Wu, honestly speaking, I'm not complaining that you're poor, I just hate that you have no motivation. Since the day we've been together, you never did anything outstanding. At least fight back or talk back when we're fighting! Some may say you're solemn, but you're simply apathetic!'

There's a brick by the lamp post behind Yue Yue. Wu stared at it into space, he thought of a storybook he read, it says the male lead hit his head with bricks several times to retrieve his love. The ending of the love story was absolutely touching.

'I can die for you.' he blurted.

Yue Yue didn't even blink for once, she just laughed as if it was a joke.

'You don't need to die for me. If you slit your wrist, I would be honored.'

His feet trembled as he walked towards the lamp post, bent down, and lifted the brick which had lost an edge. His hands were quivering like leaves blown by the wind. He finally got a good grip on the brick, he turned his head to take a glimpse of Yue Yue.

'I'm...going to do it. Don't regret it.' his lips trembled.

Yue Yue threw a disgusted look at him before turning, leaving like there's nothing happening. Bang! Yue Yue stopped right in her tracks, her head twisted and her face immediately became white.

Wu was lying on the ground, his body twitching, his head was pooled in blood.

'Wu, Wu, don't scare me! Help, somebody! Someone committed suicide!'
