283 The teleportation station (2)

Valeria gives all the jeering people a bored look before continuing to lead us to the front of the line. The message is clear, they are beneath her notice.

And boy, they do not receive the message well. Before, less than a dozen people participated in the jeering. Now, that number nearly triples within seconds.

"Arrogant bit**! Think you're better than us?"

"Ignoring our kind words is a mistake! See what you'll do when you arrive at the front of the line!"

"Right, right! Only important people get to skip the line! And self importance doesn't count!"

"Just wait until the station staff tell them to go back! I'd die of embarrassment if that happened to me in public."

"Maybe they have a public humiliation kink? They must be getting real exited at the upcoming embarrassment of a lifetime. Especially that cold faced bit** at the front!"

People can be real nasty when they think they are in the right. Unfortunately for them, they aren't. And Valeria looks a bit miffed now. Hope she doesn't do anything drastic.

<You and me both.>

We reach the front of the line and a stern looking lady in the station staff's white uniform appears before us. Valeria doesn't even stop as she flashed her gold pass and strides past the lady in white.

Seeing the golden pass flash before their eyes, all the station staff become more respectful and the woman who came to meet us bows and motions for the rest of us to follow Valeria.

The crowd waiting in line isn't too pleased with this development. Expecting us to be turned away and loudly scolding us when they turned out to be in the wrong, now they are the embarrassed ones. Most choose to just quietly and pretend nothing happened but one woman with a big family behind her can't take it.

"So what if you've got a gold pass! It definitely isn't yours, bit**! You probably got it by using your body! Do you think sleeping with some powerful guy makes you better than us."

Valeria halts as if struck by lightning. A dreadful killing intent begins spilling out of her. The aura of death and bloody murder she's giving off already proves that she has earned that gold pass herself.

The staff seem very nervous. The strongest one among them seems to be slightly past level 70. The rude woman who yelled at Valeria is around level 110. If Valeria attacks, no one can stop her and she'll massacre that rude woman.

"Miss, please, reacting to such a comment is beneath someone of your class. We'll have you at your destination in just a few minutes. Follow me, alright?"

One member of staff, probably the one with the highest seniority on site, tries to diffuse the situation. However, by Valeria's facial expression, I can tell that something that woman said hit a very sore spot. No way she'll let that go.

I'd like to avoid being part of a murder crime scene and spending my vacation gettin questioned so I prepare to stop Valeria. Not much I can physically do to stop her but I can probably stall her long enough for Navi to arrive. Right, Navi?

<Not necessary. Valeria has other plans. I gave her a secret weapon and she'll probably use that.>

You gave her a WEAPON? Are you insane?

Valeria pulls a second pass out of her pocket and shows it to the staff. All members of staff collectively gasp and start to look nervous. I bet that's Darwin's void pass, isn't it.

<Exactly.>

"Since all these people here are so good at running their mouths and that lady thinks I borrow other people's influence, they can continue to do so for the rest of the day. I'm booking the entire station for my personal use, no one else may use it."

"Oi, you can't just do that!"

"We've got places to be!"

"The teleportation station is for everyone!"

"We have a right to use it too?"

"We didn't even say anything! Why are you implicating us?"

"Abuse of power!"

The crowd that is waiting in line goes berserk. They all shout and voice their disagreement. However, unlike before, no insults are thrown and there certainly isn't anyone who dares to get physical. The staff also seem opposed to the idea of essentially closing for the day.

"Miss, don't you think it is unreasonable for you to do this. I'm sure none of these people intended to offend you."

"What else could be meant by yelling at me that I've only gotten my gold pass by sleeping with someone. I'm being very reasonable here by not murdering that lady outright! Now, I have a void pass and you'll do as I say."

With that, Valeria steps past the member of staff who had tried to convince her not to do this and enters the station. I doubt I can talk her down from this so I just follow behind her without a word.

The teleportation goes without a hitch and we exit the teleportation station in the middle of the wonderful Lily amusement park. The way this park is built is unique.

It has a dedicated teleportation station owned by the park that makes up the middle of the park. Around it is a circular area for check in and hotels if you want to stay longer than one day. Around this area that forms the core of the lily, three main sections and three subsections are arranged in alternating sequence. From above, the main sections form the petals and the subsections form the sepals of a lily.

A great amount of design and symbolism must have gone into this place. According to Quinn, the lily was the national flower of Rome and seven was a special number as Rome was built upon seven hills. Therefore, there being seven parts to this park when counting the center and it being in the image of a lily certainly represents Vespasian to the fullest. Quinn will certainly have a blast in this place.
