Darwin (10)

Rage courses through me. Not the explosive and uncontrolled kind. No, cold and calculated rage fills my round and squishy body to the brim. It is accompanied by an insatiable hunger that I allow myself to be consumed by.

I rush through the dungeon, uncaring of what enters my path. I will consume everything inside this dungeon.

Monsters, adventurers, even the dungeon core itself shall become my prey. I'll kill them, devour their remains and grow stronger!

I'll destroy the dungeons for turning us into monsters! I'll kill the humans for taking the lives of my family! And I'll slaughter every monster for merely existing!

———

"Greetings slime, you've done well to make it this far. For the many adventurers you have killed I commend you and offer you a position at my side. You will be my executioner and make my dungeon so impossible to conquer that I shall ascend to become one of the great dungeon masters! Now, offer your loyalty to me!"

Oh that guy pisses me off to no end! So that is a dungeon master. That pathetic wimp hiding behind a boss monster was the one who watched as my friends died! And now he dares to offer me the position to be his lackey?!!! Go die!

I barrel forward, straight at the boss monster and that coward behind it. I can see the dungeon core floating further behind, bobbing up and down in agitation.

"Yes, come to me and offer your loyalty! Wait, slow down, no need to rush! Stay there, don't come any closer! Unitaur, stop that slime!"

Ha, you think the boss monster can stop me? A minotaur mutation where the bull parts are replaced with those of a unicorn. Probably has some light or cleansing magic and focuses more on speed than strength. Not that any of that matters.

I've gotten strong, very strong, strong enough that a medium-level dungeon master can't stop me. I am so very incredibly intolerably hungry. Become sustenance for my revenge!

The Unitaur wields a spear and stupidly attempts to swat me away with the bottom end of it. The spear is made of some kind of bone and looks very durable.

However, as it makes contact with my gelatinous body, I allow it to enter my body and immediately begin to dissolve it. I don't care how durable and great that spear end is, I'll just eat it up!

As the spear end enters my body, it begins to give off vapors and quickly disappears. The damage to the spear is limited since I at best took off a fifth of its length. Nevertheless, this fight is already over.

As the Unitaur completes its swing, it almost loses its balance. Removing a part of the rather weighty spear caused the weight distribution to shift. While it manages to quickly catch itself, its swing has gone wide. From my lower position, its abdomen is completely unprotected!

I retrieve the weapon I prepared especially for this fight. I created it as secretly as possible and hid it in my inner storage this whole time. I used alchemy and synthesis to fuse, compact and enhance every piece of metal, crystal, claw and bone I could find. The thing is incredibly heavy and very durable.

It's shaped like a crossbow bolt and I refined the tip's sharpness multiple times. I launch this amalgamation of materials out of myself and accelerate it using both wind and earth magic via my omni magic skill.

My creation almost disappears with how fast it is going. One second it leaves my body, the next it has pierced through the Unitaur's abdomen, entered its body and left through the upper back. It crashes into the ceiling of the boss room and continues until gods know where. All that's left is a large circular tunnel straight through the Unitaur.

It's constitution stat is not bad so it lives but any kind of combat ability its body may have possessed has been eradicated. The Unitaur screams belatedly and drops to the ground. Neighing from the exertion, it fires a weak flurry of light magic spikes at me. It's horn is flickering as it probably tries to activate some skill but it ultimately fails and tries to cast a few more light magic spikes.

I counter the spikes with a barrier of darkness and throw myself at the collapsed monster. I make short work of it and devour the entire Unitaur in less than a minute. Boss monster can respawn but I'll destroy this dungeon before it has a chance.

Now, I believe there was a pest who sent this Unitaur to stop me.

My body doesn't really have the facilities to menacingly turn but I think the dungeon master realizes that I am looking right at him. And he can certainly feel my bloodlust.

"No no no! It's all wrong! You're not supposed to be stronger than my boss monster! I don't have enough to spawn anything stronger than that. Damn dungeon core, give me something useful! Why can't I control that slime? It's my monster!"

Control me? I'll show you what happens when you try to control me!

"Shit, shit, shit! Why is nothing working?! Quick, dungeon core, contact the other dungeon masters! I'm a member of the dungeon alliance, they have to save me!"

Dungeon alliance? So the dungeon masters are organized? Well, just when I was looking for the closest dungeon. I guess I'll need to have a long and very unfriendly chat with this dungeon master.

Though, understanding me might be difficult for him. Oh well, I'm sure that he will figure something out when I start to dissolve him limb by limb.

And this concludes the second arc
