25 Chapter 25

[A/N: The story is gonna start picking up now, I've been doing all this filler so he can use the relationships that he built during the special exams.]

-*- (Back to first person)

The student council president, the leader of Class C, and the leader of Class A now stood before a mere Class D student.

Despite the figures in front of him, Sudo stood in front of the locker rooms with his hands stretched so no one could enter. Even if Sudo was a dumbass, his loyalty was not to be doubted.

Seeing the president a Sudo away from catching the culprits, I walked away from the scene. With the president here, there definitely weren't going to be any fights, so there was no longer anything there that captured my interest, and my job was finished.

As I walked away, I heard some murmurs.

"Hey, isn't that Horikita from Class D?"

"What's she doing?"

I looked out the building's window and followed the gaze of the students in front of me. On the top of the highest diving board stood a girl with long black hair and an indifferent expression. It was Horikita.

When the hell did she get over there? I glanced back at the locker room entrance, and all of the students had diverted their attention from the locker room situation to Horikita. Slowly, the students of Class C and A at the scene flooded out of the building and towards the diving board.

It seems that whatever last-ditch effort Horikita was attempting had worked as there was no longer any attention on the locker rooms.

I was interested in Horikita's speech, but there was a more pressing matter at hand right now. Ignoring the students leaving out of the building, I walked back toward the locker room entrances. These perverts had forced me to spend a perfectly nice summer day at the pool with a bunch of randoms because they wanted to see some naked girls.

I waited outside the locker rooms, and eventually, a student emerged from the girl's locker room with a relieved expression. Yamauchi.

I watched with glee as Yamauchi's expression turned from relieved to horrified as he saw me waiting patiently outside the entrance.

Though I could easily expel him for this, I realized with the upcoming "special exams" that cooperation between classes would probably be necessary, so expelling someone just because I was pissed off wouldn't be a good idea. I also knew that the financial state of Class D was to the point where most of them had less than 10,000 points, so there was no point in blackmailing him. I also had Kushida as an undercover agent in Class D already, so I couldn't use him for information.

You may be wondering then: What was I going to do with him?

Putting down my phone which had recorded Yamuachi exiting the girl's locker room, I spoke in a strict tone.

"Go take down the cameras"

Before I could gain anything, I would first take care of the biggest problems. I trembled thinking about what these perverts would do if their plan was actually successful. By all means, I wasn't the perfect citizen, but still, something like this had to be stopped.

While Yamauchi rushed back into the girls' locker room, I took my phone back out and informed the president that I had taken care of the pervert issue, but that I didn't find the culprits. Don't get me wrong, the three idiots definitely deserved to get expelled for this, but honestly, expulsion would just cause them to commit worse actions in the future.

Also, if I wanted to expel them, I would have to act as a witness and investigate them, leading a shit ton of work. I guess I did have a soft side for Class D as I related to them as they were constantly insulted and called defects like I was back in middle school. Not to mention, there were the reason I made 20 million private points as well.

Once Yamuachu came back with the security cameras, I took them out of his trembling hands and threw them against the ground, smashing the lens into tens of pieces. For right now, the fear that they could be expelled at any moment should be enough of a punishment.

Ignoring Yamauchi, who was scrambling to clean up the broken cameras, I exited the building. It seemed I made it in time as Horikita was still speaking.

"But the classes from A to D aren't necessarily separated just on superficial academic and athletic ability. Which means that even the failures of Class D can ascend to Class A. We will make it to Class A!"

The audience of the students exploded in murmurs and gasps as Horikita finished speaking. A series of clapping sounds and crying could also be heard at the front where Sudo and the rest of Class D were standing.

Didn't she just call her class a bunch of her failures though?

Ryuen and Sakayanagi scoffed at the speech before turning around to leave with their entourages while the student council president simply stared at Horikita.

I mean after hearing that shitshow of a speech, I wouldn't be worried in the slightest about Class D. If you're going to try to get to Class A, why announce it and put everyone on guard? From my point of view, it was obvious that this was just a last-ditch effort to distract everyone from the situation with the locker rooms, but to the others, Horikita probably seemed braindead.

Seeing that my work was done, I also turned around to leave. With all the things that happened today, I doubted that anyone would notice my disappearance. After all, I was nothing more than a background character.

In the distance, I could see my classmates and Class D playing together in the empty free-play pool, but thankfully none of them could see me leaving.

Since it was already the evening, and I hadn't eaten anything since my small meal in the morning, I stopped by a convenience store to get some instant ramen and a bento box.

As I headed back to the dorms, I checked my email and saw a new email from school talking about our summer vacation trip.

In about 2 days, all first-year students would be able to get a state-of-the-art cruise for a week before arriving at a private island owned by the school. A ticket to this cruise ship would normally cost around 55,000 dollars, and they were renting out the entire ship. My suspicion only grew.

Then, I read the latter part of the email.

[Please form groups of 4 for your bunks]

At that moment, I started stressing as I hadn't even communicated to 4 people total within my class. My stress relented until I continued to read the email.

[If you do not choose a group, it will be assigned randomly]

Ha, I bet they made this rule specifically for loners like me. Maybe, I could put up with bunking with 3 random people on a luxury cruise ship.

Looking at the list of things to bring on the cruise ship, I realized how screwed I was. It said to bring at least 3 pairs of clothes to change into that are not the school uniform, but I had 0. Along with that, I was also missing at least 25% of the list's essentials.

Ah, goodbye dear private points.

-*- (POV Switch to Third Person)

While Hikigaya was stressing over spending a minuscule amount of points, the students of Class B and D were conversing in the pool.

"Hey Ichinose, where did Hikigaya go?"

At the mention of Hikigaya, Yamuacuhi, Sudo, and Ike immediately tensed up. They had heard from Yamauchi that he had caught him in the girl's locker room, but he didn't do anything. They were somewhat mad at him for ruining their plans to see naked girls, but they were also thankful that he didn't expel them immediately. The 3 idiots really wanted to go on the cruise ship.

Ichinose thought for a second before responding.

"Ah, sorry, I think he may have left during all the commotion. Do you need him?"

"not really, just curious"

Ayanokoji and Horikita, whom were sitting outside the pool, listened to the conversation. Both of them hadn't figured that the trio had been caught as they believed that they would have already been expelled if Hikigaya caught them.

Horikita, who was still mad at Ayanokoji for forcing her to say that cringy speech, spoke.

"What do you think about the cruise ship vacation?"

"There's no such thing as a free lunch"

The two students nodded their heads in unison

-*- (Back to Hikigaya)

The next day I woke up early as the mall would be less crowded in the morning. After freshening up, I changed into my uniform and headed towards the mall. After entering the first store, I saw I immediately picked out 3 plain shirts with 2 hoodies. The longer I spend at the mall, the greater the chance of being recognized.

After speeding through the mall and buying all the necessary things, I headed towards the empty school to drop off some paperwork that was due before the cruise ship vacation. Normally, I would complain about having to do extra work, but I couldn't use the excuse of being studying or busy so I reluctantly accepted the work.

After all during the month on the cruise ship, I would be free from the shackles of the student council!

Entering the student council room, I saw that Manabu was sitting alone on the couch. This was unusual as normally Tachibana would stick to him like glue.

The president continued reading whatever paper while I silently placed the papers on his desk.

As I turned to leave, the president mockingly said.

"have fun"

My fears about the special exam increased rapidly at his words. As the president of the student council, he probably knew whatever "special exam" I would be taking, and if he was saying "have fun," it meant that the exam was going to be hell.

It's like the school was raising our livestock to be eaten. Giving us a week's vacation on a luxury cruise ship and then putting us through hell on that damned private island.

[A/N: Sorry for the filler chapter, but the cruise ship arc finally begins. Much longer chapters as I no longer have to struggle to come up with ideas. That also means more chapters/week.]

[A/N: Also dropping a new book tomorrow similar to the first arc of Sword Art Online and solo-max-level newbie. Check it out if you would like]
