66 Chapter 66

A few more events passed and Syl easily got first place in all of them.

It was finally time for the scavenger hunt.

Syl got ready. "With how horrible my luck is in gacha, I have to have good luck here!"

[... Host, you're luck isn't bad, it's actually-]

"BAH! Don't gaslight me! Go home to your wife or something!"

Syl smiled as he got ready for the event.

He was the last to go for his team so he was waiting for a while.

When it finally came to be Syl's turn class D was in the lead. Syl ran over to the box and drew a card.

[1 Billion year old rock]

"Eh?? What the fuck?! Where would I find that?!?!" He called out.

The scorekeeper smiled. He drew the worst card! The only one that was impossible to complete! It was put in there as a death card so that whichever team drew it would instantly get last place!

I mean where the fuck do you just find such an amazing piece of history just lying around??

Class D saw this and cursed!

What horrible luck! How could this be??

They were instantly in terrible spirits. This was their chance! Your order of participation doesn't matter in a scavenger hunt, so this was the best event for them to win, because they were losing all the others due to Kushida's betrayal!

Suddenly Syl went stiff.

He started laughing and running away like a maniac.

A few seconds later everyone saw him return with a fist sized stone in his hands.

"HAHAHAHA!! I did it!!! No one can beat me! I'm the best!" Syl called out as he slammed the rock down on the desk, being the first to complete the race.

Class D sighed.

"That's never going to work… They totally won't fall for that." Kei said as she covered her face in shame.

The judges looked at Syl and their eyes twitched. "Kid, this is clearly not real. Do you think such a precious thing would just be lying around at school?"

Syl waved his hand. "Bah! Everyone's a hater!"

The judges sighed. "Just sit this one out. It's impossible."

Syl looked at the judge like he was an idiot. "Uhh, but I already completed it."

"Haaa… Listen kid, this isn't my first day, I'm not going to fall for that."

Syl shook his head. "No, you listen. You didn't even check! I'm telling you it's real! Sys never fails me!"

"Sys? What's that? Some kinda drug?"

Syl coughed. "What?! No! I'm not on drugs, bastard!"

One of the judges sighed and picked up the rock. "Let's just test it Jerry, then we can get him to fuck off."

The other two judges nodded.

The one judged looked at the rock and went silent.

"..."

"Yo! Phil! What's wrong? Just tell the kid it's fake."

"M-Masaka!!" Phil called out and he stumbled backwards and fell over on his butt. His glasses fell down his face.

"Phil?! What's wrong?!"

"I-i-i-ii-it-it can't be?! Impossible!!! This- this is real!!"

The other two judges started freaking out. "WHAT?!"

"NO WAY!!"

They shoved each other aside as they went to take a look.

Horikita saw this and her face paled. "No way…"

Syl picked the rock back up and smiled. "So we win?"

The three judges nodded furiously.

"H-hey kid! Sell me that! I'll pay out private points or real money, whatever you want!"

Syl shook his head. "Sorry, I can't do that…" He smiled and tossed it up and down with one hand as he looked Horikita dead in the eyes. "I already have a use for this puppy."

He walked away while cackling and tossing the rock.

Horikita held her head in her hands. "He wouldn't… right?"

"Oh! But I would!!!" Syl called out from afar.

"This isn't going to end well…" She said in an exasperated voice.

The next event was the 1200 meter dash.

Syl was getting lined up and ready to go when Ayanokoji approached him.

"Do you mind if I take your spot?" Ayanokoji asked.

Syl was silent for a moment and checked the scoreboard.

He nodded to himself accepting his defeat, he had no chance at this point.

Kiryuin was going to win either way.

Syl looked back at Ayanokoji and smiled. "Are you going to try?"

Ayanokoji nodded.

"What's up with the change of heart?"

"I want to face Horikita-senpai."

"Is that all?"

Ayanokoji shrugged.

"You can't go until you answer~."

Ayanokoji sighed. "No, it's not."

Syl smiled. "Ryuuen?"

Ayanokoji nodded. "Ryuuen."

Syl chuckled and pat him on the back. "Good luck out their partner."

Then Syl collapsed on the floor in pain.

"CRAMP!! AHH!" He held his right hamstring and rolled on the ground.

A bunch of people surrounded him at the commotion.

Even Kushida came over, genuinely concerned. She might be a bitch but she wasn't violent, she never liked seeing people in physical pain! Only emotional pain!

Wait… that's even more fucked up…

Anyway!

Eventually Syl was being stretchered off, due to his oscar worthy performance.

As he was rolling past Kushida he smiled and winked. "That's how you act. Take notes."

Kushida gasped. That was acting?!

He was so realistic!

She was outclassed! It wasn't even close!

Kushida suddenly got angry! Another thing that she was only second best in!

Syl smiled at the thought of how pissed Kushida probably was right now.

He watched the race from his stretcher. He saw Ayanokoji and Manabu running significantly faster than anyone else and passing them all one by one.

Syl saw the crowd go wild for this moment and class D's flabbergasted looks as they saw their 'average' classmate demolishing the competition.

When he saw this he undid the straps and hopped off the stretcher.

"Ah! I'm all better doc! It's a miracle!"

The doctor looked at him in shock as he jogged away waving back.

"Thanks for all the help!"

After a few moments the doctor yelled out. "WAIT! You can't run yet! You'll re injure yourself!"

She received no response.

She sighed. "Why am I even here? These kids don't listen to a thing I say. I try to tell a kid he's perfectly healthy and he ignores me and stares at his own reflection for hours, then I try to tell a kid he actually does need rest and he just runs off and ignores me… I hate my job…"

Syl giggled when he heard the doctor's predicament.
