54 Chapter 54

The class A guys were super excited, if he was that bad before, then how bad would he be now?

They looked at each other and nodded, this was the time to go for the throat.

3 hands later.

Syl looked at his cards with a huge smile. He only had 120,000 points left in the game after starting with 200,000. Class A was now at 165,000 after starting with 90,000.

Class C was already out, those random girls really had no clue how to play.

Class B was sitting with 100,000 points.

Syl's smile set off the alarm bells in his opponent's head.

Ichinose realized what was going on.

"Syl, maybe you should fold?" She asked.

The class A students looked at her with hateful eyes.

Don't ruin this for us!

Syl shook his head. "Why would I fold? I have such a great hand!"

Syl's classmates behind him facepalmed. Even Kei was starting to realize how badly Syl was doing.

Ichinose folded early, not willing to scam Syl out of his money. However, the class A students had the opposite thought. This was the round to rinse him! He just got into a major fight and has been unstable for the last few hands! He was more obvious than ever!

They started slowly raising the pot, and Syl always matched and then raised more.

Within a few minutes there was a pot of 110,000 points per person.

The class A student smiled and raised 10,000.

Syl paused for a moment, looking really nervous.

"All in." Syl said after a while.

All three class A students smiled.

"We did it! AHahaha! What an idiot!" They flipped their cards, showing a two 10's.

There were another two tens on the board. 4 of a kind!

Syl sighed sadly. "You guys got me. I really thought you would fold that time…"

He showed as he put down a six and a seven of clubs.

The class A students froze when they saw his cards before trying to grab all the chips and leave.

"I-I think we played enough."

"We'll be going!"

They tried to run away.

Syl had an evil smile on his face as he looked away from everyone. And covered his face like he was ashamed of himself.

Ayanokoji was about to speak up but was interrupted before he could.

"WAIT! Stop trying to cheat! You guys lost!" Ichinose called out before they could make it out the door.

Syl perked up. "What?! But they had four of a kind!"

Ichinose sighed. "You shouldn't play a game you don't know the rules of."

She pointed to the 10 of clubs, the 9 of clubs and the 8 of clubs before pointing at Syl's 7 of clubs and 6 of clubs.

"It's a straight flush. Syl won the hand." She pointed out.

Syl jumped for joy. "Really? I did! Hahaha! Who knew you could win with a 6 and a 7?? Against four of a kind too!"

The class A student reluctantly came back over.

They all had frowns and scowls.

The ranks were now.

Syl in first place with 240,200 points, Ichinose in second with 99,900, class A in third with 44,900 points.

The class A students were pissed. "So lucky! He didn't even know he won! Bullshit!"

"Why did Ichinose have to tell him?"

"He have to win out money back, just cause he got 1 lucky hand doesn't mean we can't win!"

They all agreed to keep playing.

Within 15 minutes Class A was out of money.

Syl had 270,500 points, Ichinose had 115,500 points and Class A had 0 points.

"Wha- How? How did this happen?!"

"Beginners luck! This is bullshit!"

"Katsuragi's gonna kill us! He told us to stay away from this guy!"

"Shit!"

They all ran out of the room in fear.

Syl smiled and shuffled the cards like a pro.

"Moth's to a light."

Ichinose looked up at him. "How did you do that?"

Syl smiled. "Let them taste victory before you crush them. A peasant can stay a peasant his whole life, but if you make him a king for one day, then he will never live as a peasant again. He will always try to become king again, until the very end."

Ichinose gasped. "You were just toying with them?!"

Syl smiled. "They were just blinded by their own greed. See what greed does to people? They didn't even realize they were losing until they had nothing left."

Ichinose was silent. "You didn't… Was that whole game just to teach me a lesson?"

Syl stood up and walked away. "Too much poker for one day, I'm out."

His classmates quickly joined after him.

Kei raised a brow. "You know Ichinose?"

Syl shrugged. "She asked me for some advice."

Kei smirked. "Someone's got a crush~."

Syl gasped. "Do not!"

"Do too~! Anyway, Hirata is waiting for me, I'll leave first." Kei giggled as she walked away.

It was just Ayanokoji and Syl now.

Ayanokoji was silent for a second. "Was that really just to teach Ichinose a lesson?"

Syl smiled. "What do you think?"

"I don't think you did."

Syl chuckled. "You're right. I was just bored. I just realized the parallel between those guys and her halfway through the match."

Ayanokoji nodded. "You also just decided to teach Yukimura a life lesson?"

Syl chuckled. "Well, he can't stay that way forever, eventually he needs to wake up and realize his growing god complex is dumb."

Ayanokoji narrowed his eyes. "So it was just a coincidence."

Syl laughed. "It really was, I just wanted to have some fun and win some private points."

Ayanokoji paused. "I see… This is my room, I'll head out first."

Syl nodded. "See ya later!"

He walked off humming the tune to a song.
