Chapter Four

"A deal is a deal," Morbius announces coming into the library where Loki sat researching more on matters that would help them in capturing the variant.

Loki looks up from the text he had been reading confused, was the man talking to someone else? "I did promise you'd be able to see a glimpse of your child." He says quietly before tapping in the correct details into his time twister, sending both himself and Loki to the family apartment he had been in once before.

Although it was different, there was less clutter displayed around except for a corner of children's toys. "You have ten minutes," Morbius mentions before giving Loki space, it was how he was able to have space to set up a meeting with Ravonna.

Loki blinks for a second before venturing quietly into a small bedroom that sat off the living room, peering inside Loki was able to see Darcy telling a bedtime story to the small child that sat comfortably in the bed beside her. He notices his black hair and blue eyes, much like his own. Although his skin tone was darker than his own, it was lighter than Darcy's. He overhears the story Darcy told regarding the legends of Thor, the god of lightning.

Loki wanted to burst out with laughter, as the male child in front of him get excited about the story, his blue eyes full of curiosity. "Did uncle Thor actually do this stuff?" The child answers innocently to his mother. Loki notices the book was about the mythical stories the human race knew about Thor and himself. Half of it was untrue.

Darcy gives a smile. "He sure did!" She answers. "Although in real life Thor and Loki got on much nicer."

There was a smile on the child's face. "So daddy isn't evil like the book?"

Loki was shocked that the child knew about his origins, although he continued to remain silent watching the scene unfold as Darcy tucks Theodore into his bed. "Goodnight Theo, have sweet dreams." She comments before kissing his forehead.

Happy with the exchange Theo falls asleep instantly, hugging the teddy bear held tightly in his small hands. Loki was shocked to see how small the child appeared compared to him.

He notices Darcy turn out the light in the child's bedroom, making her way towards the door. Loki then rushes to hide somewhere, not wanting to be noticed by Darcy. He hides behind the curtain in the lounge, shutting his eyes hoping it helped the cause. "Who's there?" He could hear the terror in her voice.

Not wanting to face any trauma, Loki innocently comes out and puts his hands up. Darcy's eyes widen with shock seeing Loki stand before her. The man was dead, he had sacrificed himself to save Thor and Jane, and both had watched him die in front of them. "What the fuck?!" She asks in disbelief. "You're dead!"

Watching the timeline in front of him in the TVA and the age of his son, he wasn't able to know where in the timeline he was. "I know," Loki says quietly, not wanting to wake the child and freak him out. "I just had to see my son." The truth would be more complicated to explain to the mortal if she knew the truth about the TVA, nor did he have the time to even attempt such a thing.

Darcy is confused, how did Loki know about their son? She hadn't even told Thor the truth about Theo, after she had learned the truth about her pregnancy she had removed herself from her work position in SHIELD and was in the process of moving from New York to distance herself from the known dangers. "So all this time, you have been pretending to be dead?" Darcy asks, crossing her arms across her chest. "What a coward way out of paying child support."

He could see Darcy is pissed. Loki looked at the clock in front of her, seeing he still had six minutes with Darcy. "I know you're pissed and I wish I was there to watch Theodore grow, it's just impossible." Loki comments, a pained smile on his face. "I can offer you a lasting memory though."

Darcy could see the familiar smirk on his face. "The last time you said that I ended up fucked and pregnant with a half-blood godchild." She informs Loki who just realises his choice of words. He was just going to suggest a picture, he had noticed a camera on the bookshelf. "But I've never been the one to pass up the opportunity since many men are turned off the fact I'm a mother."

That's how Darcy ended up sleeping with the god of mischief again.

Even with a bonus minute, Loki is able to take one last look at his son as he is pulled back into the TVA library, where Morbius is waiting for him. "So how was your son?" He asks.

Loki had been able to use an illusion control before he was pulled back into the TVA to straighten up his appearance from any sign he had a sexual encounter with his former partner.

"He's everything I hoped." Loki comments.

Morbius didn't reset this timeline as he hoped Loki would've given his son some words of wisdom to take into the future. Hoping his father wasn't a deadbeat and had just left his mother before he was brought into the world. There were small things the TVA were able to do without affecting the sacred timeline.

But their mistake would cause the pregnancy of another half-god. This time a daughter. Darcy would name her Brooklyn Jane, wanting reminders of her old life before she disappeared from New York. Not wanting to risk her children becoming test subjects.

Never in history had there been any recorded half-god children.
